Majestic Mansions - St Clair Apartments

The best part of staying here was the location. Close to the beach and excellent eateries like 'Salt' and 'The Esplanade'. Get the pork belly loaded fries from Salt and eat them on a bench by the beach.|Our room was smaller than it looked in the photos, the bed was comfy and the room was tastefully decorated.|The TV was super frustrating. Only the Sky remote was available and the Sky channel subscription offerings were extremely limited and appeared to be targeted at over 70s. We would have preferred to have been able to log in to netflix or chromecast.|The building needs some love, there were cobwebs on the smoke alarm.|The outdoor area at the front could be lovely if there was some thought put into how guests might like to use it.|We enjoyed our late January stay, but it could have been so much better.

This 2 bedroom apartment cost us 330€/ night and I do not think this is worth it. We definitely stayed in much nicer and more quiet places for much less money. The bath does not even have a shower cabin nor any shower gel provided. The TV is super small and we were not able to connect it with Netflix or any other App. All interior is basic, no nespresso machine as many other Hotels/ motels offer here in NZ. Compared to what you get for less money with other places I would Not return here and also not recommend it to others.

It’s such a lovely and beautiful place. The one bedroom apartment we booked is well equipped and very clean and spacious with nice view. Comfortable bed and bedding. Love the decor and the balcony area for coffee time. Great location with easy access to the beach and a nice Italian restaurant next door. Loryn is helpful with the checkin process. Just be noted that there is no lift inside the building. To the price, it’s well worth the stay. Recommended

Clean, tidy and spacious in an excellent location walking distance to several lovely restaurants and beautiful beach. This property is about 100 years old so it doesn’t have an elevator which is ok for me but if you’re elderly with a heavy suitcase forget it.

Cosy apartment with everything you need. 2 minute walk to St Clair beach and restaurants. Less than 10 minute walk to convenience store. Bus stop to Dunedin is a 1 min walk. Very accessible drive to Otaga peninsula. Free on-site laundry facility is a plus. Good base to explore the area. As there is no on-site reception desk, it is essential you text/call the property manager with ETA so you are met and given door access codes.

We came upon this as a last minute booking. Even though there was no reception desk, we booked online and were inside and settled in 20 minutes! A really clean cute apartment in a lovely part of the world.

We booked 5 apartments and everyone enjoyed their apartment- facilities were wonderful and the beds comfortable. The building is full of character, a pleasure to stay … we all wished it was longer! |Easy walking distance to beach, salt water pool, and fabulous restaurants! |Can’t wait to return … hopefully February 2025!

A very special historic building that has been tastefully enervated and makes for a very special stay. Location is fantastic overlooking the ocean and able to walk to many eateries in minutes. This was great for our needs with comfortable bed, good shower and usable kitchen. Our room had a great place to sit and view the ocean. Host was nice and we would return.
