Great stay at an affordable price. The amenities are basic but offered all I needed for a long weekend. Having a private balcony was great, and there was also a larger communal one. It’s in a cute neighbourhood with lots of cafes and it’s close to the city centre by foot or bus. The 2pm check in was a bit late but otherwise no complaints.

Be prepared to add £100 to the advertised price as a deposit, which they will do everything they can to keep. Racism and scams, as they will do anything to make you pay the deposit at the end of your stay. Check-out, which should take a maximum of 5 minutes, took us over an hour. The receptionist asked us to wait a few moments while she inspected the room, even though the person before us simply returned the key as part of a normal check-out. After 15 minutes, we lost patience and, above all, we didn't understand what was going on, as several other guests were checking out without having to wait like us. We decided to ask them what was going on, and they asked us to wait another 10 minutes for the cleaning team to come and inspect the room. During this time, of course, other guests were checking out without any difficulty, except for one other person of colour. Perhaps some people's appearance inspires more confidence. After 30 minutes, we were finally told that we had to pay a deposit because there was a stain on the floor in our room. We were obviously surprised because we left the room spotless, we even made the housekeepers work easier by removing our sheets and sorting our rubbish (lining up the plastic water bottles). So we asked them for photographic proof, and there was indeed a stain that had appeared. I told them it was a fake, that the stain wasn't there when we left the room. We asked to speak to the manager to check with him directly in the room. Once we returned to the room with the manager after crossing the entire neighbourhood again (because yes, the reception is a 5-10minute walk from your room), he noticed that it was just a little water on the carpet and not damage. The water stain did not come from us because the plastic bottles we had put away had been moved. But they charge you £100 for water on the carpet (which did not come from you) that dries in less than 10 minutes by opening a window. Thank you to the manager for recognising that it was unacceptable to charge a £100 deposit for this. From the begining, we noticed that the room had not been cleaned properly. We found lots of hair in the bed, so the dirty sheets had not been changed. Arrogant receptionist who judges people by their appearance. Housekeepers who want to make you take the blame, perhaps in the hope of blocking the room and not cleaning it.

The 150m walk for check in is not an issue. The rooms are small though. The bed was comfortable (though 2 singles butted together !) and the room clean. Single person shower only. Note to management. Spend some money and replace all those shitty Hicense TV's that are 20 years old. Half the time I had to turn the tv off and on again after it locked up multiple times. You could probably fit each room with a decent smart tv for $500 (which guests could then log into Netflix etc and have a decent electronic tv guide). Also consider fitting the TV's a tad lower so your guests don't feel like they are looking at the ceiling when watching the tv :)

I loved the mural artwork and the design of the room was great and had a cute little balcony to sit and chill in. The North Adelaide location was great, heaps of funky cafes, pubs and restaurants at your fingertips. The room was excellent value for money with a no stress check in and check out.

Stayed here on a recommendation from a mate. Normally I stay in the CBD, but felt like a change and North Adelaide and the pub scene appealed. The hotel itself is a bit funky, lot of art work and murals. The room is small, bathroom tiny but functional - it reminded me of an EasyJet hotel I stayed in once, albeit with more class. Bed was comfortable and room was quiet, though corridor noise was an issue.||Check-in is at another building a short walk away. Car park is small, and you need to book in advance (and pay). Lots of places to eat and drink nearby and an leisurely walk in to the centre of town.||I'd stay here again if the price was right and I had a car.

A bit small and pokey/narrow. No chair or table. Nothing by the bedside either. Took $100 security deposit even though I prepaid the room with PayPal and was reluctant to hand over my credit card details. She said it was meant to be $300 which I thought was a bit ridiculous. Apparently there was no parking for me unless I wanted to park on the street. They did provide me with parking space at the check-in hotel, which is down the road not on-site. All parking at both sites is an additional cost. Even though they charged me over $700 for two nights. It's ok if you need somewhere to stay just for the night but I wouldn't be coming back

Where to begin, Check in is not on site, its around the corner. The rooms smell, the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. We had booked parking and late check outs, parking was unavailable when we got there and I had to have 3 conversations with the lobby about actually checking out late. Rooms had an odd smell. Cursed vibe.

Very disappointed, bathroom had mold, air conditioner broken and sounded like motorbike in room. Cleaning staff in morning so noisy and woke us up from cleaning room next door and it was before check out time. They offered discount on next stay but still not satisfied. Good location and check in staff were amazing.

Yelp

Yelp
Nice simple hotel in a really nice area in Adelaide. This hotel is quite simple, modern, tidy. Can't complain about it much. Rooms and bathroom are small but not cramped. They offer parking and it's pretty cheap.

Yelp
I haven't really had a bad experience in this small hotel of the Majestic name, but my sister had a horrid experience with her friends here. There are some cool features of this hotel, like the frontage, location, self check in and the rooms are nice. But my sister stayed here with a couple of friends for her 18th birthday and ended up sleeping back at home. Now my sister is not the rowdy kind; she booked for a few friends to stay overnight and they were planning in going out for tea on Melb St and spending the night in the room later on. When she checked in, they asked for a bond, which she was never told about and was ridiculously expensive. Then the girls were getting ready at 6pm putting in makeup and doing their hair with music on and were told they were laughing too much and being noisy. So they turned the music down and tried to be a little quieter, but people 'apparently' kept complaining to staff and staff continued to tell them off. They thought this was ridiculous, it was 6pm! Things continued, they kept being warned about things, and in the end they were pretty much advised to leave, so all went and stayed at one of the girl's houses. My Mum found out, complained and tried to get money back, but nothing happened in the end. Doesn't make me want to stay there, personally.

Yelp
The Minima Hotel in Melbourne Street is part of a new age of hotel rooms, they are small and compact and cater for business travellers who are visiting cities for short periods of time. The Minima in North Adelaide has 46 studio rooms, all with King Size beds and LCD TV's. There is a 24 hour self check in service via a kiosk setup and I guess the absence of staff and the smaller sized rooms is what makes these sort of hotels more affordable. Situated on Melbourne Street, this Minima is perfect for business travellers as it is surrounded by a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Room service isn't an issue as all you need to do is pop downstairs to the Lion, the Store, Cibo or any of the other restaurants and cafes in Melbourne Street. Stylish rooms and great location.

Yelp
Clean and tidy little hotel in North Adelaide. I recommend for a business trip more than a holiday as the rooms are pokey. As a place to sleep and make the odd phone call no issues. Good cafe across the street where breakfast is served from 6am and fair rates for a night. No desk staff or concierge exists here, but there is a 24hrs intercom with the local sister hotel. Checking in is like using an ATM, which is cool.

Yelp
What a great little hotel. Convenient location in the centre of Melbourne Street - North Adelaide. While the rooms are compact (and I mean very compact!), they have everything you need for short stay or business trip and are straight, clean and well appointed. I've posted a few photos of the standard room as well as a reference for those interested. I would certainly stay here again.

Yelp
We only stayed one night, and in a Basic Art Room at that, but were impressed by the hotel wide range of art, even if the description of the piece in our room didn't seem to match the reality. The Basic room was pretty small, especially the bathroom, and it made me a little nervous that the attached smoker's balcony was adjacent to the (admittedly locked) alley way. Initially, our TV didn't work, and if it weren't for my partner's knowledge of electronics, we would have gone without. The on site parking is convenient (for an additional $10), as is the overall location, since we were able to go for a really lovely walk in the evening at the nearby park. There are desk staff now, although I'm not sure what hours they are on. If we go back we will probably pay the extra $30-40 for an upgraded room.

Yelp
this hotel is all atm-style, machines took over humans' job, from check-in to check-out. when we had questions we call them up and ask. the service is good. price is not too expensive. one terrible thing is that shower is so light, i mean the water came out really not powerful at all and very little of quantity, really disliked this
