I use this hotel frequently when in Adelaide. ||I only need a place to sleep, shower and park the car when I am in town and the hotel is in a good location, generally clean and good value.||On this particular occasion I was disappointed to note that housekeeping in the public areas was distinctly less good than usual! Also in the basement there is a guest laundry but the dryer was inoperable and just lying on its side on the floor. ||Surely such maintenance issues should be addressed immediately?||Occasionally the parking is full and one has to use the parking over at the Lion Apartments (same owners/management) - on my last visit one month ago the entrance to the Lion Apartments parking was out of service, I noticed that on this visit it was still out of service! ||Clearly there is a problem if maintenance isn't being carried out and cleanliness standards are not being met in public areas! Or management has dropped the ball?||It's a shame that the standards are sliding - mediocrity is sadly creeping in!

Broken Air-conditioning and the fridge was warm. I had to move to a non-disability accessible room and the air-conditioning in that room made loud noises and was only slightly better. The staff member came across as confused and made me feel like an inconvenience. There was a bond I had to pay that I had never had to pay before and was not warned about. And the cost of parking had gone up and I was also not told about it. The housekeeping staff were lovely and so helpful. Sadly this place has got more expensive and reduced in quality. You can get bigger and cheaper rooms elsewhere in the city. After 4 visits this will be my last.

Check-in was easy, but it was 200m away from the hotel and the service was not very good. We stayed at the hotel because we were arriving from a very long international flight, in room 103. I thought I would be able to rest, but the terrible noise of the air conditioning kept us awake all night and turning it off was impossible due to the heat. Otherwise, the environment is nice and the room was well organized.

It wasn’t bad, it was an awkward check in because I firstly booked the wrong day and had to change it with my provider, the hotel allowed the change and didn’t apply change fee, which I really appreciated, I was very tired. Secondly having to find a place to park the. finding I had to walk to their partner hotel to check in; I just found that a bit clunky. Maybe I should have read more about where I was staying ahead of time||||In the morning I was out getting coffee, when I returned I found the entire hotel evacuated and firemen in attendance, this was due to a fire alarm, apparently triggered by a guest smoking. I hope said guest enjoyed their cigarette, because I’m sure they’ll be charged the emergency services call out fee and rightfully so. I was disappointed that my early morning need for caffeine ruined the potential for a good story, I’ve still never been evacuated.||||||The staff handled the situation swiftly. ||||The staff were very lovely, some of the best customer service I’ve ever experienced from a hotel

The location is great, we knew the rooms were compact. However the shower space is more suitable for children not adults, shower heads are outdated meaning they spray out in all different directions! ||If you don't mind being woken up at all hours of the night i definitely recommend the stay. Unfortunately this site is more like a glorified backpackers than a hotel. With no staff on site present other than housekeeping in the mornings you can really tell that guests come and go as they please with no regard for others and the walls are possibly made from paper? Such a shame given to amount of money that was shelled out for the 2 week stay. To end on a positive note the housekeeping staff were lovely and the underground carpark / laundry handy.

Usually I would enjoy this place because of value, comfort and cleanliness.|This time, my room does not have a chair or stool. I can't work a bit or eat comfortably.|The toilet had not been flushed well. I called to complain but since they don't have a staff there, they can't do anything that night. The guy said that the next day he will make sure that I would have a stool or chair. But I am only staying for the night. This thing that happened to me was just a fluke but it sure made a dent stay that night. Hope that they make sure housekeeping clean the rooms thoroughly.

Tiny room and bathroom. Not very clean, hair in shower and stain on carpet floor. Fridge was warm and air conditioning made ticking noise. Check in was easy but it’s around the corner 200m, no service/reception at the hotel itself. Great location walking distance to cafes and restaurants, but I recommend finding somewhere nicer for similar value.

The Majestic Minima has become my go-to place to stay in Adelaide. Quirky and comfortable. Great location with lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. The balcony overlooking Melbourne Street is a fab spot for an afternoon sundowner, or an early morning cup of tea.

Yelp
Nice simple hotel in a really nice area in Adelaide. This hotel is quite simple, modern, tidy. Can't complain about it much. Rooms and bathroom are small but not cramped. They offer parking and it's pretty cheap.

Yelp
I haven't really had a bad experience in this small hotel of the Majestic name, but my sister had a horrid experience with her friends here. There are some cool features of this hotel, like the frontage, location, self check in and the rooms are nice. But my sister stayed here with a couple of friends for her 18th birthday and ended up sleeping back at home. Now my sister is not the rowdy kind; she booked for a few friends to stay overnight and they were planning in going out for tea on Melb St and spending the night in the room later on. When she checked in, they asked for a bond, which she was never told about and was ridiculously expensive. Then the girls were getting ready at 6pm putting in makeup and doing their hair with music on and were told they were laughing too much and being noisy. So they turned the music down and tried to be a little quieter, but people 'apparently' kept complaining to staff and staff continued to tell them off. They thought this was ridiculous, it was 6pm! Things continued, they kept being warned about things, and in the end they were pretty much advised to leave, so all went and stayed at one of the girl's houses. My Mum found out, complained and tried to get money back, but nothing happened in the end. Doesn't make me want to stay there, personally.

Yelp
The Minima Hotel in Melbourne Street is part of a new age of hotel rooms, they are small and compact and cater for business travellers who are visiting cities for short periods of time. The Minima in North Adelaide has 46 studio rooms, all with King Size beds and LCD TV's. There is a 24 hour self check in service via a kiosk setup and I guess the absence of staff and the smaller sized rooms is what makes these sort of hotels more affordable. Situated on Melbourne Street, this Minima is perfect for business travellers as it is surrounded by a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Room service isn't an issue as all you need to do is pop downstairs to the Lion, the Store, Cibo or any of the other restaurants and cafes in Melbourne Street. Stylish rooms and great location.

Yelp
Clean and tidy little hotel in North Adelaide. I recommend for a business trip more than a holiday as the rooms are pokey. As a place to sleep and make the odd phone call no issues. Good cafe across the street where breakfast is served from 6am and fair rates for a night. No desk staff or concierge exists here, but there is a 24hrs intercom with the local sister hotel. Checking in is like using an ATM, which is cool.

Yelp
What a great little hotel. Convenient location in the centre of Melbourne Street - North Adelaide. While the rooms are compact (and I mean very compact!), they have everything you need for short stay or business trip and are straight, clean and well appointed. I've posted a few photos of the standard room as well as a reference for those interested. I would certainly stay here again.

Yelp
We only stayed one night, and in a Basic Art Room at that, but were impressed by the hotel wide range of art, even if the description of the piece in our room didn't seem to match the reality. The Basic room was pretty small, especially the bathroom, and it made me a little nervous that the attached smoker's balcony was adjacent to the (admittedly locked) alley way. Initially, our TV didn't work, and if it weren't for my partner's knowledge of electronics, we would have gone without. The on site parking is convenient (for an additional $10), as is the overall location, since we were able to go for a really lovely walk in the evening at the nearby park. There are desk staff now, although I'm not sure what hours they are on. If we go back we will probably pay the extra $30-40 for an upgraded room.

Yelp
this hotel is all atm-style, machines took over humans' job, from check-in to check-out. when we had questions we call them up and ask. the service is good. price is not too expensive. one terrible thing is that shower is so light, i mean the water came out really not powerful at all and very little of quantity, really disliked this
