Well this was definitely our favourite gift shop in Ottawa. Like most big cities, they're flooded with cheap junk made from poor countries with materials that will fall apart in no time. But this place is different. It's high quality. Canadian made from what I seen. And great selection. The selection of goods here is so vast. You can buy some Peace by Chocolate, a t-shirt or soap. So many options. Definitely make this part of your stops when you come to Ottawa. 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I love this business. It is a project set up to provide meaningful work for folks with developmental disabilities. The quality of the pieces is lovely( I bought 3 of the brooches made with the copper from the old Houses of Parliament roof). Please support them and wear somethings that brags for Canada!

Communication was great - fast and friendly, and the package arrived in an amazingly short time. The paint kits look wonderful, but they are going overseas to homesick ex-pat Canadians, so I don’t know how they will turn out. It looked like it will be a lot of fun. I look forward to more fun ideas from Maker House Co.

Last week I saw an ad for your "Elbows Up" chocolate bars so I ordered some because (1) I love this new Canadian slogan and (2) my partner is a chocoholic. But little did I expect the bars to be this wonderful! Today I ordered several more, although this time I think I will hide them from my partner so he doesn't overdo. He's a real expert when it comes to chocolate, and at his first bite of your chocolate-maple bar, he pronounced it awesome, saying it was the highest-quality chocolate and absolutely delicious. When I made my second order today, I noticed you donate a percentage of your profits--as far as I'm concerned, that commitment plus your wonderful product makes your company as close to perfect as I could imagine. Bravo!

Great shop with handmade products from makers all across Ontario and Canada. Loved how it’s such an easy place to go shop for local gifts for friends and family. When we went, there were also preñada gift boxes which makes it easier to buy and give gift and support individual creators instead of big corporations. They donate 2% of the profits to local charities. Fantastic store and definitely worth checking out.

The Ottawa goodies are especially neat, but everything is here is Canadian and the staff is friendly! Beats the heck out of any basic souvenir shop. Greeting card selection gets a special shout-out!

Great place for all things Canadiana! Everything is made in Canada too. Whether you're looking for kitschy stuff like a tote bag with pictures of smoked meat, poutine and bagels on it or some actual snacks made here in Canada, Maker House Co. has it. Fun place to poke around and great place to get real Canadian souvenirs.
