Makhan Fish and Chicken Hut, Amritsar (Old and Famous Makhan Fish from Lawrence road)

We had their signature dishes yesterday, which were extraordinary in taste. First of all was fried fish singhara. Never had such a fine and boneless fish ever. 2nd was tandoori chicken, which was juicy and full of flavours. I can have these everyday..yummm..😋😋

Went to makhan's after golden temple for dinner. We were so hungry n were expecting nice meal there. I can say that it turned out to be far better than what we expected.. their amritsari fish, tandoori chicken and mutton champs were to die for.. best experience of amritsari food on plate.. kudos to team....👌👌👌

They have the best tandoori chicken and mutton champ and muttin tikka. Heard lot about their fish but as i m not a big fan of fish so din't order 1. But will definately give it a go next time.

Humble host , tasty food and cosy ambience. What else you can ask for.? Definately very good restaurant to have dinner with family. All their snacks dishes are awesome and made fresh to the order. Kudos to the team.👏👏

Went to makhan fish near taj hotel on 21/05/2022 on recommendation by our hotel manager. The food was amazing and taste was right on spot for everything we ordered.. my taste buds literally had orgasm. This what you call cooking witb passion. After talking to owner, did realize how much knowledge they have about food.. hats off to sardar makhan ji and his son... will soon visit again.. this is the original MAKHAN one and only near Taj hotel at old jail road.…

Let me start with - very good people. The owner at the counter and the staff were very welcoming. This place is well known for fish, we found the fish to be very fresh and good (but didn’t have the wow !! factor), maybe because fish is a staple food for us at home. We had tandoori chicken- it’s was super amazing. Would certainly recommend it and also kali daal. The place has a bar which was full. If you are in Amritsar and on food quest, do consider adding this place in your list. (P.S the family dining hall is upstairs and there are no elevator. Something to consider if anyone in your group is not good with stairs)

It’s a hidden gem in the city. I was surprised to see such a good ambience. I opted for the non veg platter which was delightful boasting rich flavours and beautifully presented.
