We had dinner in this place during our Amritsar visit. Overall it was good experience, food we ordered were good in taste specially fish items. It was crowded and you may need to wait sometime because of the crowd. If you are in Amritsar and want to try good fish items this place would be a nice option. We tried veg items also. Those also tasted good. Easily accessible via local auto or cab from nearby locations.

Food is no doubt good, but pricey for the ambience and this is a cash only place if you pay them by card or upi they will charge 7% extra. Don't understand the logic behind that.

Makhan fish is the best veg and non veg restaurant in Amritsar. I have ordered Makhan fish..they served tandoori fish with mint chanti.

During my December trip to Amritsar, I had heard a lot about Makhan Fish from friends, so I made it a point to visit, and I’m so glad I did! The restaurant truly lives up to its reputation. The drinks are incredibly affordable, and the tandoor items, particularly the fish tikkas, are absolutely mouth-watering. The flavors were rich, and the fish was cooked to perfection, leaving me craving more. The service here is exceptional – quick, friendly, and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. It’s clear why this place is popular, as it was bustling with both tourists and locals. Many tables around us were filled with tourists who had come based on recommendations, and locals seem to keep returning for the consistently great food. In addition to the fantastic food and service, there’s also ample parking, which makes visiting hassle-free. Whether you're a local or a traveler, Makhan Fish offers a memorable dining experience that is totally worth the hype. I highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting Amritsar. It's a perfect blend of taste, value, and warm hospitality – a place you don’t want to miss!

Let me start with - very good people. The owner at the counter and the staff were very welcoming. This place is well known for fish, we found the fish to be very fresh and good (but didn’t have the wow !! factor), maybe because fish is a staple food for us at home. We had tandoori chicken- it’s was super amazing. Would certainly recommend it and also kali daal. The place has a bar which was full. If you are in Amritsar and on food quest, do consider adding this place in your list. (P.S the family dining hall is upstairs and there are no elevator. Something to consider if anyone in your group is not good with stairs)

Good food , small shop near trillion, Tasty juicy chicken and Fish . Does get crowded in the evening. The owners are humble soul. There are few Makhans in Amritsar. They all claim that they are original but what matters is the taste of food .

Average food.. fish was okay but chicken was average and mutton tastes just like a keema nutri.. we complained about it and owner turned rude with us . It was my first time here . Where as other restaurants accept the complaints whenever there is some problem. But he turned rude to us . Would try to never visit again
