We stayed two times for a night in November at this hotel. Makka hotel is more prettier and has a more heritage look, than its sister hotel Makkachiva but at Makkachiva, the hotel staff, kitchen staff and the hotel amenities itself is better.||The first time we stayed, we got a corner room that was big with a sitting area and lot of place to open our suitcases. The second time our room was very small with hardly any space for our luggage. The front desk is helpful and help you carry your luggage up as there is no elevator in this hotel. There are a lot of mosquitoes in the front reception area as it is open to the sky and outside and you see the hotel staff continuously using the electric mosquito bat to ward them off. Though the rooms are air conditioned, mosquitoes can come in if the cleaning staff open the doors, so ask them to be careful about it. ||There is construction going on beside the hotel and it did not bother us as we stayed separately twice, but only for a night each. Otherwise it can be bothersome if you are sensitive to noise. It does have a lamp which is a huge metal tube hanging from the ceiling onto the side of the bed. I was constantly worried that I would forget about it and at night, get up and hit my head against it. It is very strangely positioned. Beds were fine and we had no issues with it. Location wise the hotel is well located and you can walk to many good veggie eateries.||The breakfast is set meals that you have to choose from. They do not give you a pot of hot water and for every glass of water, you need to keep asking them to bring a glass of hot or cold water to you. If you are someone like me who drinks 5-6 glasses of hot water along with breakfast, you have to wait a lot when the breakfast area is crowded. I saw other reviews of mosquitoes at breakfast, but luckily we did not have that issue during our breakfast.||They do give you slippers to wear to the rooms, but the wood flooring is slippery and you need to be careful while climbing up or climbing down. Also the slippers cannot be worn with socks as they are not slip ons, which was a bit irritating every time we had to change the footwear. ||Their library area upstairs is very nice and the building itself with its arches and wood everywhere makes it look very pretty.
