Had to give everything 1 star to ensure that the ranking represented how terrible the food was for dinner. My partner and I enjoy fine dining and wine including raw seafood. Where to start... the oyster and sea urchin was so terrible my partner described it as having a bilge water taste, price $26 USD for approximately 1 oz total of edible food(which wasn't edible) served in a small oyster shell. To elevate the dish there were several slivers or red onion...that's a joke... The tuna dish with avocado was basically 3 pieces of rolled tuna sashimi with avocado puree in the middle and set in a bed of what was basically yosidas sauce. Think texture something like baby food. With 3 , 1/4 potato ball things that were uninspired $28 USD. The miniature squash was ok, but it was $19 USD for 1.5 oz of a diced up vegetarian concoction inside a mini squash which was not edible. Ordered two cocktails $15 USD each which were actually decent. Ordered a Chilean Cab Sauv for dinner. It was severed chilled at around 2 degree Celsius or 37 degrees fairehite. It never warmed up to the appropriate temperature, $12 USD. The best value was the $5 USD banana split served to my child. Nothing about the menu was refined dining for the price point. Stayed at the property for 4 nights, this was the only night we had dinner here. We ate breakfast twice. Had a $25 vegetarian breakfast burrito.. think beans and rice and one egg. Completely uninspired. A kid from Jr chef kitchen could come up with something better.

We ate here for breakfast every morning and dinner most nights. We had the all inclusive package which seemed to be well worth it, can’t speak for the value without it. But overall both breakfast and dinner were fantastic. Breakfast is a huge buffet with endless options, too many to list. For dinner they have a good assortment and all were great. Our favorite was the short rib. The server were all very friendly and attentive, they remembered our names and our preferences. They also ask for any food allergies and make accommodations and recommendations as necessary.

Food was excellent! We had the Shrimp Gallitos, Pura Vida Pizza, and Ocean Trio. Everything was fresh and tasty. Fresh bread was warm and delicious too! Really hit the spot after a long day of travel. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere was beautiful even in the rain. It's right on the ocean. Parking was challenging as we weren't staying at the resort.

Great service with Carlos and one more gentleman but I forgot his name. Very friendly staff and food was excellent and fresh. Very happy. I had the catch of the day and it was perfectly seasoned and cooked

So satisfied by every single food we got from this place! Even in-room dining food was so good, how is that possible! Loved the olive oil pasta, Caribbean salmon, beef tartare, little appetizer, grilled eggplant, tuna, scrambled egg from breakfast menu,… literally everything. The only down side is that the breakfast is on the pricier side. That little tasty scrambled egg would cost ~$16, yet the bolognese pasta (very delicious too) is $9. Pricing doesn’t make the most sense here 🧐 Also, resort fee comes with free yoga class and coffee tasting class (golden bean). The barista was very knowledgeable, highly recommend!

Quite a nice breakfast spread with good quality for both buffet and a la carte, enjoyed their offerings on multiple mornings. Had dinner here one night as well which was decent but we didn’t feel the need to repeat. The beautiful setting and convenience was the main draw for dinner.

We had a lovely dinner at Makoko. We visited from the Golden Palms Papagayo hotel and made a reservation on opentable. The hostess was a bit confused that we didn’t have a room at the hotel, so perhaps this isn’t common yet? Also see the note below on parking. The food was excellent all around. The tomato soup was cleverly presented, with the soup poured over tiny grilled cheese bites and fresh tomatoes at the table. One of the best tomato soups I’ve ever had. I also had the bouillabaisse, which was likewise very good. The portion sizes are admittedly a bit small by American standards, but that’s honestly not a bad thing. Service was also kind and attentive. It took a while to bring our check, but the restaurant had really filled up by the time we were finished, so understandable.

Absolutely stunning breakfast buffet. Everything you could want and more. Don’t skip out on the cinnamon rolls, they’re delightful!
