This was such a breath of fresh air in comparison to the food we’d been eating in Hawaii. Delicious and healthy. Light. Easy on the stomach. Fresh, delicious veggies. Honestly soooo good!! I got the chicken wrap, my husband got the hummus wrap, and we shared the tomato basil soup. Comes with either chips or side salad. Everything was great! Service was super friendly too. The 2 dressings were icing on the top of the wraps! Plus nice outdoor seating by the water. Beautiful views. It’s can be tricky to find but if you see the walkway next to Panda Express go back there and it’s on the left.

I recently tried the Mala Delight sandwich, made vegan, at Mala Market, and it was truly excellent. This sandwich comes with a generous amount of fresh vegetables and includes vegan mayonnaise and avocado (without an extra charge). It's served with a side of potato chips. If you're looking for a good vegan meal, I recommend checking out Mala Market. The vegan Mala Delight sandwich is a solid choice.

stopped by the māla market before heading to the blowhole for a light lunch and this sandwich place was pretty good , i dont normally like sandwiches but these are flavorful and filling they fill it with many toppings and you pick which meat or type of sandwich you want. the staff were nice we went in asking a bunch of questions thst if we read the menu 90% of our questions would’ve been answered but staff was friendly and did answer us without hesitation . we tried club sandwich and chicken salad wrap both were good and worth the money . they have both indoor and outdoor seating where you can see the water very pretty setting

You come in and are greeted by a few workers working almost like an assembly line! You order and they make sandwiches with the most fresh ingredients, Dave’s killer bread (21 grain), and it’s so quick! I recommend the Italian Sandwich! My husband said his Tuna Salad Sandwich was delicious! If you sit outside, you’re greeted by paradise… LITERALLY! It’s stunning. I highly recommended this place. You will leave 10x happier

Sandwiches that can be finished off with a perch, even if you have morning sickness during pregnancy! I was suffering from morning sickness early in my pregnancy. But I wanted something to eat! So my husband and I decided to have lunch here. We ordered the turkey avocado sandwich and the shrimp salad sandwich. They cut the large sandwiches in half so we both shared. It was very tasty with lots of fresh vegetables. It was not too saucy or salty👍 I personally love the shrimp salad sandwich! The lemonade was also refreshing and great for morning sickness. Definitely a repeat!

Nice ambiance with the outdoor seating, but the food was mixed. I had the Turkey and Avocado sandwich, plus the clam chowder. The clam chowder was very delicious but the sandwich was pretty bland overall. The ingredients were splendid and so was the presentation. But the sandwich had zero flavor.

The best healthy and convenient lunch spot! My 3 year old loved his ham and cheese sandwich and ate the cucumber / tomato / lettuce in it because it was so delicious. Always a relief when your toddler eats some veggies. I had the chicken salad sandwich which was also packed with delicious veggies. The side salad dressing was so good as well! Did take out lunch - chicken salad wrap and chicken salad sandwich. They were huge but stuffed with goodness of carrots, sprouts, greens, etc. Very tasty and filling. I also enjoyed the tea mixes - we got a plantation tea (tea + pineapple) and an Arnold Palmer. I was looking for something fresh and not heavy - this was perfect. Oh and they use Dave’s Killer Bread - I love that stuff!

We chose Mala Market for a business lunch to be delivered to our conference at House of Savon, located in the same center. The food was great. Our team appreciated how fresh and healthy everything was, and each order came in neatly packed individual boxes. We placed a large order with 45 items, and their online ordering system made it very easy. High scores for food quality and ease of ordering. I requested delivery at 12:30 PM and received a confirmation email saying it would arrive between 12:30 and 12:50 PM. That worked for our 1 PM lunch schedule. At 12:55 PM, I called to check on the order and was told they were behind due to lunch rush. When you are managing a meeting with 45 hungry attendees on a tight schedule, that kind of delay is stressful. The food arrived at 1:15 PM. Some sandwiches came with side salads, but there were no forks included. I know some places require you to request utensils, but for a $750 order, you would expect basic flatware to be included. Thankfully, we had some on hand. Otherwise, we might have seen people eating salad with their fingers. Hawaii Kai does not have many options for group catering, which makes this even more disappointing.

Was in the area before the beach, and decided to stop by to try and get a cold sandwich. The ordering area is super cute too and I love how easy their menu is. I got the turkey avocado sandwich with a side salad. The service was extremely fast! By the time I was done ordering, it was already out and ready for me. Also this sandwich was delicious! It came with a ton of different refreshing vegetables and a lot of turkey which I enjoyed. This was perfect for the beach. I would definitely come back again when in the area and needing a sandwich!

Okay this place makes the best sandwiches. I got their turkey avocado sandwich and WOW! They pack their sandwiches!!! They put turkey, avocado, purple lettuce, sprouts, mayo, tomato and carrots. So healthy for you! The combo comes with either salad or chips. I got the salad and their dressing was super good too! Tasted like an avocado/vinaigrette. Super good! The service was alright. Not too friendly. It didnt feel welcoming. Super nice place. They have seats to eat inside or outside but I recommend outside because they have the view of the ocean pier. super cute view!

Finally got to try mala market this weekend after it being on my list for a while! Got the chicken salad sandwich and it was amazing. I loved the freshness of the vegetables and the chicken salad itself had the right amount of sweet/savory balance. The bread is solid (seems like Dave's killer bread) and the chips on the side were a lovely complement. It traveled well too as I took it to the beach to eat and the packaging made it easy to transport and eat without too big of a mess. It's also a huge portion. The service was very quick! Seating is majority outdoors but is a cute area along the marina. It was pretty packed when I was there around 2pm on a weekend. Definitely excited to try a different sandwich next time!

I LOVE a good veggie packed sandwich! As a firm believer that sandwiches should basically be salads between two slices of bread, Māla Market is my ride or die. The turkey avocado is an absolutely perfect choice, creamy and crunchy, especially after a day of hiking or swimming. You also get the choice between salad (with a side of dressing) or kettle chips. There isn't much seating inside the store but you can sit outside or along the marina (which I prefer). Workers are nice and accommodating :)

One of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time! I ordered the turkey avocado sandwich, and it was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The ingredients tasted high-quality, and the combination was so refreshing, perfect for a light yet satisfying lunch. Great sandwiches! We had these delivered but tried the turkey avocado and chicken salad sandwiches which came recommended. Both were loaded with veggies with fresh ingredients. I preferred the chicken salad over the turkey avocado just because it had a bit more moisture from the chicken salad. However, both came with sprouts which I love! The dressing that accompanied the side salad was nice--something with cilantro that was creamy but not too overpowering. Definitely felt like a healthy meal choice that I still very much enjoyed eating. I'd like to try one of the wraps next time and maybe one of their drinks!

Great fresh ingredients, stuffed to the brim! Very generous with the vegetables and sprouts, making for a colorful sandwich. These sandwiches require quite a bit of chewing. We tried the turkey and avocado. The Dave's grain bread is very seed heavy and healthy whole grain. Quite a pricy sandwich for what is inside them but understandable given the amount of vegetables. Quick service! Outdoor tables overlooking the bay! Indoor counter seating as well.

Keeps getting better! All ways friendly service, and the best in fresh organic salads, and bursting thick sandwiches and rollups. They also have a frequent customer discount club. My dad and I split a tuna salad rollup and are full- each rollup is always bursting with delicious fresh salad ingredients including sprouts, cucumber, carrots, along with their delicious homemade creamy cilantro dressing. (They also have chicken salad, Turkey and roast beef.) They have an equally good raspberry vinaigrette dressing if you do not like cilantro. Their homemade Arnold Palmer ice tea is a fav too. The best view alongside the Marina. Families, tourists and everyone local to HK love this place. Tip: this place is only open until 3 pm sharp.

Great sandwich shop with a beautiful view! I love everything they use in their sandwiches (love the Dave's killer bread), and prices are about average. Their sandwiches were good, but nothing super special. still enjoyable & simple though!! I also appreciated the amount of turkey & avocado in my sandwich. The salad dressing was also delicious and paired nicely with the sandwich. Staff was very friendly & helpful & our orders came out pretty quick! Perfect spot to grab lunch before hitting the beach, or to sit and enjoy the water front view!

This small little sandwich shop offers a small menu of sandwiches, wraps and salads. The employees are friendly and the service is prompt. There is a good amount of outdoor seating with a lovely view of the marina. I got the Italian sandwich with no sprouts and a side of chips and sandwich with side of chips. While nothing about the sandwich wowed me, the ingredients were fresh and the view is nice. While I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. If I was looking for something light and healthy and was in the area I may stop by again.

Looking for a light and refreshing lunch? Forget Subway, Māla Market is your place. Their sandwiches come on wheat bread with lots of veggies, and you have the option of a salad or chips with each meal. I love to eat my sammich looking out at the marina. Fills the tummy and the soul.

Māla Market is a fresh, healthy sandwich shop, and this was such a welcome meal on one of the days I was on the island. Their menu also offers soups, wraps, and sides, but we stuck with the Turkey Avo, which came stacked with shredded red cabbage, shredded carrots, and lots of alfalfa sprouts - this sandwich was super delicious, with the house dressing that they had used - everything was so so so fresh, and you really felt good and happy chowing this down! I recommend in getting a side of chips with your meal. Staff were pretty friendly, and everything is made to order. There is a small counter inside, but plenty of tables outside for an al fresco dining with a nice view. The perfect sandwich with a view! First time trying Mala Market and got the tuna sandwich. Super flavorful with great texture. Sandwiches were ready in just a few minutes and the staff was super friendly. Will be back!

Fresh and beautifully made sandwiches. I ordered the turkey avocado and chicken salad sandwich. I also got a sweet tea. The turkey avocado was good and had a nice flavor. I paired that with a salad which included their green goddess dressing which was delicious and herbaceous! The chicken salad sandwich was my favorite because it had so much going on. The walnuts were the perfect crunch with nutty flavor. I was also loving the grapes too because it gave such a nice sweetness. If you don't like either of those items in your chicken salad I don't recommend that sandwich. My only complaint was the sweet iced tea which tasted like powdered fake sugar tea. They might as well call it Lipton tea. I was hopping for sweet tea made fresh like all their other items, but that was not happening with this tea. The service was good and quick. The ambiance inside the shop was small but outside it was gorgeous and the view of the canal was just picturesque. The location is good but the parking lot can be crazy and the stalls are way too tiny.

Went to pick Mala's shrimp salad.....their salads are the bomb. Requested no toppings today. Salad is always fresh and the service is fast and friendly. The market is bright and clean overlooking the marina. BTW, their sandwiches rock as well. Best of all, I love their pink salad dressing...not to tart, and it brightens the salad, just enough.

My girlfriend has been raving about this place for months. That's saying a lot because she really isn't a sandwich fan. Me on the either hand, I love a good Sammie. We stopped in today before hitting Costco. It's tucked in the back of the Hawaii Kai Town Center which has a ton of parking. Follow the walkway past Panda towards the water and this little gem is on the left hand side. I tried the Shrimp Salad sandwich with a side salad and added a side of the cilantro dressing. We chose a table along the water for a nice little lunch date. The sandwich is packed with fresh fresh veggies and it was absolutely delicious. I tried a bite of her chicken salad and it was equally tasteful. Although the sandwiches were large, they were fairly light so we didn't leave feeling overly full. Definitely recommend this place for sandwich lovers.

First time here and ordered an Italian sandwich. Portions are a little small and the price is on the high side but I still feel this was a good value. One of the best sandwiches I've had in a long while. Everything was very fresh, nicely balanced and delicious. If you're looking for something a little more healthy for takeout, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mala Market in Hawaii Kai. Wish I lived closer to their store!

A quaint little sandwich shop situated along the water at Hawai'i Kai Towne Centre. 5/5 for both food and service. Service is quick! Our turkey and avocado sandwich with chips came out in about 3 minutes after ordering. Healthy sandwiches filled with fresh veggies. A handful of tables and seats available to eat right outside. Open seating outside of Mala Market in the shade, or you can sit right along the water and enjoy the marina. Ample parking spaces at Hawai'i Kai Towne Centre, but the parking lot can be busy at times.

I was desperately craving veggies, and this sandwich was perfect! It was packed with sprouts, cucumbers, carrots, turkey, and more. The plantation tea was iced tea mixed with pineapple juice, and it went great with the sandwich. This was the perfect light meal! Also, the views from the restaurant are great. This location overlooks the bay and was very nice. This sandwich was pretty pricy ($15 I believe) but honestly, I have just accepted that everything is so expensive here and you won't be able to eat for less than that. I would definitely recommend this place!

This sandwich is definitely worth the hype. A bit pricey but still good and huge! I've also wanted to try here but it's all the way in HK and we happened to be in the area so I finally got to try. The first time my husband and I shared a pastrami and it's so big it's hard to fit it all in one bite. My only comment is that the back of the sandwich doesn't have any filling it's just all bread since they put it al in the middle. The 2nd time I got the turkey avo. But I think I like the pastrami better. They are pretty fast making them and they have some tables outside and chairs inside to eat with a view.

Delicious sandwiches, wraps, and chips. It's a simple menu but they do everything really well. They use Dave's Killer Bread which we love. We got the kids ham and cheese, kids tuna, and the hummus wrap. All come with chips or salad as a side. Casual outdoor seating. Free water and other drinks are available. They happily answered our questions about some of their sandwiches and were very friendly. Highly recommend!

Whenever I'm in Hawaii Kai before 3:00pm during the week, and I'm not in a hurry between getting off the bus and getting to my appointment, I drop off at this lovely little spot on the Marina. It's just a short walk from Costco , too, just down the walkway past Panda towards the Marina. I had an hour to eat before my appointment so I ordered one of my favorite sandwiches: the Tuna Salad Sandwich (always) made on Bob's Killer Bread, with salad (as opposed to potato chips). I had my own water bottle so I was set. Ate half there and the other half before I went home. You can guarantee having a fresh and delicious sandwich or salad at Mala Market because it's made for you when you order it. How fresh is that??

Mala market is a great grab and go healthy sandwich shop. I had the italian which came with whole grain bread, microgreens, carrots, purple cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes and it seems like a bit of lettuce. i thought it was a bit overpriced for what it was at $15. If it had a bit more meat inside i would have been okay with it. It tastes really healthy due to the proportion of veggies to meat. Thats not a bad thing, i think it's just depending on what i am feeling at the moment. I do appreciate the attention to details with the sandwich. The carrots and purple cabbage are chopped nicely. I think the whole sandwich comes together well with a little salty plus sweet from the veggies and bread!

Fresh hand made sandwiches at Mala Market. Each sandwich is made to order and stacked with lots of veggies and your choice of meats or filling. The prices are little higher but that always comes with eating healthier and fresh ingredients. They have a nice location right at the waterfront where you can usually get a table and enjoy the gorgeous views with your sandwich.

Decided to have a healthy meal for the day and ordered Mala Delight sandwich for $13.60 tax included and it turned out very good. It was stacked thick with lots of vegetables and also came with additional salad with dressing on side. The service was also great and great atmosphere at the eating area.

Decent spot, but a bit pricey. I stopped by Mala Market and had their sandwich, which was tasty, but at $15, I was expecting something a little more special. The flavors were good, and the ingredients seemed fresh, but the value just wasn't there for me. While the food is solid, the prices are a bit steep for what you get. Overall, it's a decent option if you don't mind spending a little extra, but I'd be more inclined to visit regularly if the prices were more reasonable.

I love Mala Market! As a busy toddler mom, eating healthy gets put to the side. I turn to Mala Market when I'm in the area to get my veggie fix. They do offer gluten free bread, but I rather just get the salad. My go-to is the shrimp salad. Yes, it does sound YUCK, but trust. They don't use tiny bay shrimps. They use regular size shrimp and the flavor is yum.

Their sandwiches are portioned well and are very filling. Lots of veggies in them on good bread make it feel healthy while still being delicious. Comes with either a side of chips or a salad. Very refreshing and tasty.

Located at the Hawaii Kai Shopping Center. It is hidden in between restaurants near the stage area. It also has a nice view of the water while dining there. I ordered there for take out and sandwiches' were made pretty quick even though they were busy. I'm so glad I picked a healthy option for lunch. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich and my friend ordered the shrimp salad sandwich. We wanted the salad on the side instead of chips. The salad dressing had a tangy sweet flavor, I like it. Love that the sandwiches are packed with veggies. The bread, I think was multigrain, it was sooo soft. Chicken salad filling really yummy. If I'm in the area, will be back. I believe they have a Kailua location as well.

My first visit and Mala Markey did not disappoint! I ordered two Mala Delight sandwiches. One for me and one for my husband. One with chips and one with the salad. I LOVED the green goddess salad dressing. DELICIOUS! The veggie sandwiches were awesome and filling. Full of carrots, sprouts, lettuce, tomatoes and avocados. I apologize if I've missed any ingredients. And the sandwich dressing is the best. Check out their website and Yelp! for pictures. The prices may be a little high for many but it costs money to eat healthy these days. Love the white tables and chairs outside and you can't beat the secret and free views of Hawaii Kai's waterways.

Located in the same shopping area as Costco, Māla is tucked away close to the waterfront and in a very pretty location. Who knew that a sandwich gem was so close? We had the shrimp salad sandwich (4/5) and Italian avo special (4/5). Both were arranged beautifully and full of fresh veggies. The whole wheat bread was pretty good too. My Mom liked it so much she said it was, "the best sandwich she's had in years!" I guess that means we'll be back very soon. The store is bright and clean. Service was friendly and efficient. Our order took a few minutes to prepare and we were in and out quickly. There are a few counter type seats inside and tables outside. We took the sandwiches home and it was packed perfectly. I LOVE how healthy and affordable these sandwiches are. The menu is the perfect length-not too long to keep me undecided when I want to order something quick for lunch. Everything is good; and their sauces are what really make all of their offerings special and delicious. The ingredients are always so fresh and the servers are so friendly and upbeat! I love stopping in for a healthy but satisfying lunch when I'm out running errands. They also have one of those awesome water machines where the water is filtered and it tastes so clean, cold and delicious (who knew water could be so exciting).

The location is a bit hidden, on the water by the stage. Once you see Starbucks, turn, walk toward the water and keep going to the end. I would say this was a middle of the road experience for us. $20 for a shrimp avo salad sandwich, very light on the shrimp and avocado, heavy on the crunchy vegetables. It tasted healthy. Service was 50/50. The person who popped out to take our order was nice but before that, the other staff member at the front didn't greet us at all. There were no other customers but maybe she was very focused on making sandwiches. The view of the water is nice. We regret eating outside due to the large number of aggressive birds. Inside seating is limited with bar stools along the wall. There is a large parking lot at this shopping mall with a lot of traffic on the side that is close to Costco.
