Visited Mala Bar Briyani Hotel with my family of five, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The place is quite small, but what it lacks in space, it makes up for in hospitality. The owner/manager and staff were very supportive and welcoming, which made the experience even better. This is a very small restaurant.
The menu is simple—only briyani, but they do it well. They offer mutton (₹240), chicken/beef (₹160), and also egg and veg options. We tried the Kerala-style briyani which came with raita, pickle, and a crispy pappadam. The portion size was just right, maybe even a little extra, and the meat pieces were well-cooked and flavorful.
What made the visit even more special was seeing my grandmother enjoy her meal thoroughly—especially considering she hadn’t been too impressed with other Mallu restaurants during our cochin stay. Overall, it’s a great spot if you’re craving a comforting plate of Kerala-style briyani with a homely touch.
