We are confused about the policy of the restaurant. We walked in one evening and were told that the whole place was booked out (when it was literally empty) and that we had to reserve? So we did for the next day and got our table and saw the same thing happen with customers who walked in! That the place was full and to reserve ahead?
We were curious if it was a capacity issue or lesser hands in the kitchen? Anyways I digress...
The space is pretty, love the artwork and general feel, there was live music in the main central lawn. The mosquitoes were an issue though and towards the end of dinner it was a little uncomfortable.
Between the four of us we had some lime sodas, tempura, veg combo meal, fish wrapped in banana leaf, seafood pasta and a choco samosa for dessert.
The meal, we had nothing to complain about overall, but it wasn't very memorable (maybe western tourist focused), especially with respect to the prices. So apparently since this is part of a luxury hotel, the GST rates are different and higher and everything including a soda gets taxed accordingly.
Service by Rajalakshmi was fab and patient.
