Malapascua Budget Inn

It was really nice to stay at the dorm here. The people were very friendly, the dorm was clean and smelled fresh, they have AC and fans and provide space to dry your wet things outside. The bathroom facilities were okay and while there were quite some mosquitoes, they managed to keep all bugs out of the dorm itself. Furthermore they have free water refills, strong wifi, and provide luggage storage. The location is also quite nice in the central part of the south end, basically where everything is. Would book with them again, thank you! :)

I enjoyed my stay here. Probably one of the only hostels on the island that has AC dorms. The facilities were kept. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, especially Mitch. when I booked an extra night on accident. Choose this hostel is you want a comfortable air conditioned stay.

I had a great stay at Malapascua Budget Inn! The dorm was clean, had good air conditioning, and the beds were comfortable. I really appreciated the space to hang and dry my wet dive gear outside. The staff was super friendly and always happy to help. The bathroom facilities were basic but clean and regularly maintained. They also offer free drinking water, good Wi-Fi, and a secure place to store your luggage. The location is perfect – close to everything, but still quiet at night. Great value for the price, and I’d definitely stay here again. Thank you for the hospitality! 😊

Recommend skipping this place if you come to Malapascua. On booking.com this looked like a nice hotel but honestly the room was completely different. We got put into one room initially but full of mosquitos so we were moved into another. It obviously hadn’t been used in a while because the water smelled of eggs & the room hadn’t been cleaned (stained walls, hairs all over the floor). Staff were nice and accommodating but had to leave a night early to go somewhere more comfortable. Their dive school is good though 👍

One of the few hostels in Malapascua that features an aircon! Nice rooms and clean space is a big plus, and I haven’t seen any mosquitoes or insects in the dormitory during my stay. Great work for that! And only cost 500 pesos per night in a 12 person dorm. Great value for money if you’re a traveller on budget. One thing that I’d recommend to make it better is the ventilation in the shower, if the doors are changed to those with windows or something it would be much better.

DARK, DINGY AND DERELICT !!! - Photographs used on the app are outdated and misleading. - Common area is gloomy with a strong smell of mould/damp (one of the staff members was even wearing a mask) - No atmosphere and a generally strange vibe - Front desk is often unmanned for 15-20 mins at a time, staff always seem to be "on lunch break" no matter the time of day. They are generally unhelpful/do not have authority to make decisions. Manager "does not want to be bothered" and would not speak to us directly. - Use their "policy" as an excuse not to refund customers when they are at fault. (Policy should not cover unsanitary conditions). We had plaster bagworms and termite frass/excrement on the bed/pillows. We waited 15-20 minutes at the front desk to speak to a staff member and ask to move rooms but eventually had to pay for a different hostel as nobody was present. When we came back to collect our belongings, staff assessed the bed and wiped the pillows, placed them on another guest's bed and denied anything being on them. We moved to Capsule Hotel just a 3 minute walk away. Much more pleasant, very friendly staff, nice seating area with a bar and music, very clean and great prices!

Stayed at the 4 person dorm room. The price up front is much cheaper than booking online. The people managing the hostel are really really nice. The rooms are clean and beds comfortable. Great ac. Recommended!

I stayed in the dorm room for eight days, very spacious and clean and each bed has its own privacy. The toilet and shower are cleaned every day.
