The hill offers a calm, breezy atmosphere with beautiful views overlooking the surrounding area. Walking around the historical sites while enjoying the greenery made the visit relaxing. The monkeys added a unique charm, though visitors should stay cautious. Overall, it’s a nice place to unwind, learn some history, and enjoy nature.

Came for the heritage site, stayed for the monkeys. Took the tram ride thinking it'd be peaceful.. turns out the monkeys are the real tour guide 😂 cute, chaotic & always watching your food. Great views, fun ride & a constant reminder to guard your snacks with your life.

Just because of silver leaf monkeys...they are adorable. Just wanted to say for people visiting, please bring them fruits, not sandwiches or sweets. And certainly don't give them Cola to drink 🙏🙏

A memorable trip up the hill via tram right from the middle of the town. The view from the top is amazing. We also visited Kuala Selangor District History Museum, which really caught the kids’ attention and enriched their knowledge about Kuala Selangor and other districts in Selangor.

It's a place that you either like or dislike. If you like a low difficulty walk up and down slope with family that's ok. If you are afraid of monkeys then it's not a place you will appreciate. There's tram (not really a tram) service to bring you up to the small hill, rm5 per adult, rm3 per child.

Took the tram up Melawati Hill and the experience was amazing. The ocean view from the top is absolutely breathtaking, and the museum visit was a nice bonus. Definitely worth a visit!

Monkeys are the main attraction here; they are kind and attentive, so feed them and enjoy their company. It's a very therapeutic experience.

Nice as usual...Tourism Selangor and Majlis Daerah has done good upgrading of trams, added murals and also better the road to the top. Trees have been trimmed . The museum on site is awesome and informative. Upgraded the air cond means we can cool down if you arrive in the midday like us !

This was a very interesting visit. My colleague had not been for years and was surprised at all the monkeys by the car park. The shop keeper near the tram shop who sold bananas dnd green beans and other food for the monkeys kept the area nicely swept. Be careful not to stand under the edges if the overheads as the monkeys go poo from the edges and it can land on you The tram was reasonably priced. The museum and view were excellent. The monkeys seemed to like sweet potatoes and peanuts very much. Also they would take the food right from your hand The black monkeys were more friendly and less aggressive than the brown monkeys Definitely a nice spot to visit. There was one tour bus , but it was not too crowded.

Okay. I am going to admit that coming to Melawati Hill was a surprise to me after I booked a tour to see the fireflies at night. When our guide shared with us that we would be stopping here to feed the monkeys, my stomach just dropped. I had no intentions of feeding monkeys as I read beforehand that the monkeys (in Malaysia) may be aggressive and carry diseases. That said, I was not looking forward to stopping here. Melawati Hill or Bukit Melawati is part of the countries past. It is located on a hill near Kuala Selangor. When we disembarked from our vehicle, our guide tried to pursued me into being "open to the idea" of feeding the monkeys. I shot that down with a hard "no". With that assertion, I absolutely missed the opportunity presented here. First, when will anyone who lives in the city ever see live monkeys that are not behind bars? Second, when will you have the opportunity to feed monkeys from your hands. Your hands!!!! In my fear of playing it safe and not living in the moment, I missed my opportunity to do the later. Besides feeding the monkeys, you will be able to walk along the trail from the bottom to the top of the hill. On the top of the hill, you will be able to see the actual cannons which were used to fight off the Dutch invaders. The hill was of importance as at this elevation, you can see the Straight of Malacca. The lighthouse remains of the Dutch occupation of the fort. I recall our guide mentioning that the tomb of the Sultan is on the property. As a historical sight, Melawati Hill is a place to visit when in Malaysia. Learn about the rich history of this beautiful country and savor in the opportunity to feed the monkeys that live there.

We stopped here as part of our firefly tour. On paper, it seemed like the point of this stop was to see the view, and the lighthouse, but considering we never even got close to the lighthouse due to our guide making the stop about the monkeys, this was probably the real intent. No complaints from us, the monkeys were amazing. You'll need to queue up here to take the tram to the top. That's ok, the monkeys on the queue line are more than entertaining!! Buy your monkey food at this point as the vendors here are much cheaper than when you get to the top. Once at the top we headed straight to where the monkeys were hanging out. Seems like this changes with time of day, but at early evening they were hanging out by the communications tower. Many of them seemed really tired and full from an all day eating fest (this was a Sunday so lots of locals were out feeding them too), but there were still some who wanted to interact. Truly a great experience. The pictures are amazing!

Bukit Malawati is one of the historical attractions in Malaysia, which is located at Kuala Selangor. Bukit Malawati was built to commemorate Sultan Ibrahim, who fight against Dutch in 17th century. Well, his body was still buried at Bukit Malawati. Visitors can visit his graveyard when walking around at Bukit Malawati. Other than that, Bukit Malawati attracted the crowd because of its beautiful environment as well as you can watch monkeys here! I went there during Valentine's Day. Seriously, I never think this place was so awesome! I saw silver-leafed monkey and long-tailed masques here. Be careful if you have food with you, the monkeys will steal your food away. Of course, you are free to feed them. There are sellers who sells banana, you can buy from them. But, I don't like the sellers, to be honest. I heard that the sellers hit the monkeys when the monkeys come near to their motorbikes. I understand they want to do their business; but they shouldn't do that to the monkeys! If you come in the evening, you may able to watch sunset from Bukit Malawati. It was amazingly great, I swear! I was lucky to watch the sunset there. But, too bad we didn't have a zoom lens, else, we could capture the beautiful view. Overall, Bukit Malawati is a place that worth for a visit. If you are staying at KL, perhaps you can have a short gateaway in the weekend. It is around 2 hours driving journey, and you can have seafood meals afterwards.
