Excellent from start to finish! We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Malcolm 51. The moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the host and shown to our table. Our server, Sam, was wonderful! He was prompt, polite and knowledgeable about the menu and the island. Our drink & appetizer order was quickly taken. And bread service also arrived; the herb butter is phenomenal! The drinks were prepared right away and were outstanding! So much so that we complimented the bartender. Appetizers were very good (not great). For entrees we had the filet with green peppercorn sauce (excellent), lobster pasta (excellent), grouper (okay) and roasted chicken (excellent). And we ended the meal with dessert of pineapple upside down cake, brownie, and chocolate chip cookies, all of which were great. The evening was fantastic and Sam made it even better with his wonderful service. A big Thank You to everyone on the team for giving us such a lovely experience!

We had an amazing experience at Malcom 51. They recently upgraded the menu and it is a must! The sushi appetizers were great, the meals were top notch (specifically the chicken, the grouper and the lobster pasta) and the brownie for dessert ended us on a high note!! Our favorite dessert we have had in 6 nights on the island. Definitely give the newly upgraded restaurant a shot! We had the best experience and loved our waiter Andy!

As you can tell by my profile, I generally decline to give negative reviews. But this is an expensive restaurant, and I think if you're paying $50-70 for an entree that you pay to have a certain type of experience, and this does not meet that mark. I also think if you have a special meal in mind for your vacation group, you should look elsewhere. We all thought that the food was great, but it took more than 30 minutes after being seated to even get water and bread to the table. The restaurant was not very busy. Server was inattentive and very inexperienced, but nice. Service very slow; about 1:45 hours before the entrees were presented, and THEN the "appetizers " were presented thereafter. By then, the mood was sour. As to the atmosphere, they had a keyboard vocalist, way too loud, and the acoustics in our private room were awful. Absolutely not conducive to dinner or conversation; in fact the noise level forced me to go outside for a "sonic break". Overall, i do not recommend Malcolm 51 for a larger group - they were clearly in over their heads.

I do not write reviews, but I feel I have to after our experience. When we first arrived for our reservation the very large dining room was almost empty except for one table about to leave. There were a few others on the patio but we were sat inside all alone so it felt like no one else was there. It just felt sad and awkward honestly, and was the first sign this wasn’t going to be the best meal of the trip. And the music was much too loud for just us. The food is where it really gets bad. The menu looked so promising so we ordered two apps and our mains - all very expensive but we were used to it by now with every spot we’d been to on the island. The apps took a very long time to arrive which was weird since, again, we were the only ones left in the dining room. The “Mille feuille” was really just crab dip stacked between 3 chips. The “fritters” did not taste as if they’d just been fried but rather microwaved for too long as they were tough on the inside and soft on the outside. But my main was definitely the worst. I ordered the mushroom ravioli which is simple enough, but this plate was drenched in a dark, overpowering brown sauce you couldn’t even see the ravioli. The flavor was basically just a lot of balsamic reduction on overcooked, understuffed flat ravioli. I took a few bites and couldn’t continue it was so strong and sweet. There was also something in the middle of the plate that I couldn’t quite identify at first. A mound of something white and rubbery on a round piece of just toasted white bread? It wasn’t until I cut into it that I realized it was an overcooked poached egg! It didn’t taste nor have the texture of an egg. Just all wrong. No sense whatsoever. Not joking, the best part of it was the round of toast to get rid of the sauce taste in my mouth. The fact that this and the two mediocre apps were so expensive compelled me to write this review. If it was meh but cheap then so be it - it just feels so rude to charge so much and put almost no effort into at least making it a decent meal. As for service, it was way too slow for how empty they were and it wasn’t until after we paid that the server said happy anniversary and nothing else. TLDR: worst meal I’ve ever been served at a restaurant, service was slow despite being empty, do not recommend

Lovely restaurant. Food and service were wonderful. We even met the manager and chef—both were charming. The prices were on par for the quality of food and service. We sat in the room they called “the library,” which was perfect for our family dinner. Highly recommend.

Food quality didn't match with the higher prices. We thought this meal was going to be the highlight of our week. We sat for 40 minutes without a drink order before flagging someone down. Scallops were okay, not great, and the mushroom dish was almost drowned in Worcestershire or something with a very sharp taste.

Nice looking restaurant, great service but absurdly overpriced. The food was pretty but not worth $40 dollars for an entree that consisted of a bowl of rice with a few pieces of broccoli and tofu. The beet salad had two pieces of beets. Oh and a bottle of still water $15!!! Unfortunately, this time of year options are limited, but if feels they take advantage of that.

Recently went on honeymoon trip to pink sands resort and had dinner at Malcom 51 restaurant. It was amazing and the staff was super friendly. Rose was our server and did a fantastic job. All the food was perfect and overall our dinner experience was everything we hoped it would be. Highly recommend
