Where to Stay in Dublin When You Visit in 2025

"With a view of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, this sleek four-star hotel feels cozy and minimalist; the rooms are large and sunlit with big, comfortable beds, flatscreen TVs, coffee/tea makers, desks, free Wi‑Fi, and spacious bathrooms with good water pressure — and I particularly love the breakfast buffet, which offers lots of variety and fresh fruit." - Matthew Kepnes

Overall I was happy with the hotel. Great location and it was clean and the staff were very nice. I liked the fact that we had 3 people in the room and everyday they would leave 3 new sets of towels and 3 new cartons of water. I don’t know how many times at other hotels I have to ask for towels because they don’t leave enough for how many people are staying the room. That’s a little thing but something I noticed and appreciated. I was expecting a bit more considering it’s a 4 star hotel. I recently stayed at a 4 star hotel in NYC and that hotel felt way more luxurious. But I liked the hotel and was happy with my stay.

We absolutely loved the experience here in Dublin at the Maldron. I found the location to be extremely convenient, within 1 block of the Saint Patrick's Cathedral (which was perfectly framed from our hotel room view). From that location, all of the double decker HOP on HOP OFF type buses pick up from there, and take you on a route which hits 20 stops. (You can buy the bus tickets at hotel desk) The room was clean, and modern with zero complaints. The daily breakfast was excellent. Every member of staff went out of their way to provide warm service, and enhanced the stay. The underground parking garage was also ideal for us, as this was a necessity for us as we had a car for exploring outside the city. The only thing I can think of to provide any type of caution to those considering booking this hotel is that the location is just on the fringe of where the locals would consider it safe or desirable to stay. For the life of me I can't understand what the issue or danger could be, as I found the area positively lovely, and didn't see any indication that we were in an area that would be sketchy. I believe if you just plan to stay here or further north of this location you're fine. I personally preferred it to the vibe closer to Temple Bar where it's much louder, and more oriented to walking out the door to tons of bars and restaurants. If I came back to Dublin, I'd choose the same hotel again. We had two rooms, one room for my in-laws in their 70's, and ourselves in our 50's, and 1 college daughter. While visiting, I most highly recommend you tour Teeling Whisky tour, and also go to the Zoo!

Thank you very much for the pleasant stay during my business trip. I truly appreciated the warm hospitality, the kindness, and the professionalism of the entire staff. Everything was impeccable - absolutely nothing to point out. The rooms were spotless, and the meals were perfectly prepared. Thank you once again for an excellent experience. A special greeting to Mr. Luidgi (Luis) from the reception for his exceptional attention. Obrigado Luís! :-) de Orlando e André.

Perfect, perfect, perfect place to stay. Now you have two parts of Dublin, where the airport is & there is a Maldron Hotel around the corner. Or the second part, which is where we stayed. The breakfast was perfect. Everything was fresh. The room was perfect & clean & if you need anything extra the staff are only too happy to help you. I had two staff members on different days that were ever so helpful , First Gentleman staff member was Pilipe. Very nice man and had compassion & understanding of his guesses. The Second Gentleman was Deniz who helped out with bookings of tours and explaining the hop on hop off buss to us and if I had any questions always helped . I totally recommend staying at this hotel. Walking to hop on hop off buss is 5 minutes.

During my stay, I was blown away by the incredible service provided by Luigi, Nico, and the entire hotel staff. From the moment I arrived, they went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Luigi was attentive, friendly, and always ready with a warm smile, while Nico impressed me with his professionalism and genuine care for guests. The whole team worked seamlessly together — nothing was ever too much trouble, and every request was handled promptly and graciously. Their attention to detail and personal touches made my stay not just comfortable, but truly memorable. It’s rare to encounter a team so dedicated to creating a welcoming and exceptional experience.

I stayed at the Malden hotel for my first visit in Ireland, and had an amazing experience! This hotel was so accommodating to my personal needs and went above and beyond my expectations. I had an emergency at night with a lost item during my visit and Luigi the night manager helped me. He demonstrated kindness, compassion, and efficiency in the matter. I feel grateful that Luigi was on staff that night and want to thank him tremendously for his helpfulness. The night porter Mohammad was a world class gentleman with the service and so was Mia. I'm thrilled to have stayed at such a place and they all deserve a raise for their hardwork!

In general, this is a good hotel. You can book it easily online, and you can also check in and check out online. There were also some issues: we (me and the stuff) couldn't close the window in the initial room that I received, so they gave me another room; the room design was a bit strange and inefficient; I had to change the room key three times ( just after receiving the key, in the second day, and in the third day) as it wasn't working. However, I liked the bed, where you can get a good sleep; the AC was working, if you felt cold or hot; on the 4th level, the room had a nice view; the room was clean; and the staff had a positive attitude.

Yelp
Hotel rooms are clean but do not buy the breakfast. It's a buffet that isn't well managed. The eggs were watery and cold, toast and potatoes were stale, the smoothie was uneatable, and the fruit was dry. The manager was snarky when we asked for a refund saying the food was hot and that I just need to wait for a fresh batch to come out. There goes €32 down the drain. Won't ever stay here again.

Yelp
Our one night stay at the Maldron Hotel Kevin Street was brief, but pleasant. (+) Friendly service at the front desk. Upon our early arrival, we were immediately checked into our room. No questions asked. This was awesome and greatly appreciated! Our wake up calls and arrangements for transportation back to the airport were all handled well with no hiccups. Outstanding! Likewise at checkout, the gentleman working the desk was friendly and accommodating! (+) Room was spacious (at least compared to London! lol).Plenty of room for the 2 of us to move around comfortably. (+) GREAT location! St Patrick's Cathedral is literally right next door. Church of Christ is about a 5-10 minute walk down the street and the Guinness Storehouse I'd say about 15-20 minutes walk away. (+) You can tell this is a newer property as it is very clean and looks more modern than other properties in the area. (+) great shower and water pressure (-) no fridge in the room. This would have been nice to have. (n/a) never had a chance to enjoy the bar or breakfast since our stay was so short. I will definitely return to Maldron Hotel Kevin Street upon my return to Dublin one day! 4 stars. Yay! I'm a fan.

Yelp
Avoid this hotel at all costs!! My family received terrible and inhumane customer services from this hotel. After trying to cancel a reservation, staff told us they would try their best to assist us with a free and easy cancelation, but just a few minutes later another worker informs us we will be charged the full amount and there is nothing we can do about it. Do not book at this hotel if you think you may want to cancel because they will not care in helping or assisting good people. Will remember this next time we stop in Ireland for a family trip.

Yelp
Clean, comfortable, reasonably priced and ideally located between the city centre and our student son's flat. Close to everything! Front desk staff was kind and always ready to help. The breakfast buffet was ample and had more than enough to satisfy all in our party, including our vegan son. We would gladly return.

Yelp
This the first hotel we've used in 25 years that -doesn't have wash cloths -doesn't have a refrigerator -doesn't have a microwave -doesn't have a bathroom in the lobby -doesn't have a way to get into the hotel late at night -doesn't have complimentary lotion -doesn't have an ice bucket in the room -doesn't have a pen and pad of paper We really needed all of the things above at some point during the week. Needless to say, we're unimpressed with this new hotel. However, they do seem to be the only hotel we can find in Europe where breakfast is free. And the location is good too

Yelp
Very convenient location, clean, modern with great comforts very different from other Maldron hotels I've stayed in before. Small lobby, a restaurant with many tables and very, very good security. You need a room key just to access the door where the vending machines and elevators are located. Then, you need to swipe your key in the elevator in order to get to another floor. Good selection of breakfast foods. The rooms are comfortable, clean and not cramped. They have shampoo, body gel, soap, hair dryer, large towels, a safe and a unique and wonderful shower that made it difficult to actually get out of the shower, because it felt so good. No tub. Just like the other hotels I stayed in across the country, no face clothes. Extra pillows in the closet. You need to insert your room key in the slot when you enter in order to activate the electricity. This is a great way for hotels to save electricity. You take your key with you and everything shuts down. The windows do not open and the temperature control did not appear to cool the room off as I hoped, but I found all hotels with or without AC complicated. It's rare to need AC in Ireland so I was thankful they had something that made a difference with changing the air. They also have a USB port and ample electrical outlets. Free WIFI throughout the hotel and rooms.

Yelp
This hotel is more than adequate for a few day stay but I don't think I'd want to stay much longer. Much like everything else in Europe, the room is small! Between two beds crammed in there and a few suitcases you can guarantee a stubbed toe daily. We arrived hours before check in and I assume the staff was sick of looking at us on the lobby so they got us a room much before check in time. Greatly appreciated! The breakfast is really good. I'm not sure if it's included with the stay since we were on a tour and everything was prepaid, but it was more than adequate. They had a good bit of healthy selections too. There were a few annoyances that were listed in other reviews. Not having a bathroom on the ground floor was seriously annoying. The washcloth thing was annoying too but I've never seen washcloths in European hotels anywhere. Toiletries left much to be desired too. But for a quick jaunt in Dublin it was quite alright!

Yelp
Just in from Scotland, prebooked this fairly new Ireland hotel celebrating it's '1 year' this week... Lovely professional staff, with an eatery attached that is comfortable with surprisingly omg excellent foods. Hotel restroom is simply one floor down (common here). Several of these new hip hotels I have stayed in while touring the UK do not have any phones in the rooms considering we all have them, no refrigerator or microwave considering short stays, I don't mind. But, they have phones here! ha Although, I do miss the wash cloths. You can hear a little city racket here & there naturally. The room interior is of course super brand new... this hotel has a great location and nice views from the rooms. Grabbing an UBER black from the airport was easy to this part of town. I can almost TOUCH the amazing Gothic architecture of St. Patrick's Cathedral next door and I hear the Guinness Brewery experience is close, (telling the tale of Ireland's famous beer, with tastings and a rooftop bar! Woot) I would stay here again when I return next year. ;)

Yelp
Based on all of the great reviews, we were excited to stay here! We arrived from a red eye from d.c. around 6am, keen to drop our bags off and gather our bearings given it was our first time to Ireland. We certainly did not expect to get a room that early in the morning. However, we got to the hotel doors to find a sign that indicated they were closed until 9am. We had ZERO prior notice that the hotel would be closed (an email or something would have been great) so that we could have made prior arrangements. We waited around for a bit until we flagged down the night manager who, though very nice, said the hotel would actually be closed until noon and that he wasn't allowed to let us in, per the hotel manager's instructions. He went back a few times to speak with the manager to see if they could do anything, but the manager insisted that their check in time was not until 2pm. Again, we were not trying to check in that early, just looking to sit in the lobby for a bit. Eventually, the night manager agreed to hold our bags and let us use the restroom before we headed off for some site seeing. We did not get a warm welcome at all, and were super disappointed that this was our first experience in Dublin. Very very disappointing, given all of the nice hotels in the area. Rooms were clean clean functional, but would stay elsewhere next time.

Yelp
Very clean, upgraded amenities, friendly staff, great location, amazing breakfast, and comfortable rooms. We loved staying here and the location was great- walking distance to St Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin castle, Teeling Whiskey, and about 15 min walk from Grafton street. Hotel bar was a bit spendy, but expected at a nicer hotel as such.
