"Maligne Canyon Icewalk Slide into your warmest winter boots, strap on a pair of ice cleats, and bundle on an extra layer before descending into the Maligne Canyon for a unique Jasper experience. Curving rock walls create the perfect labyrinth to explore the depths of this frozen winter wonderland. Dazzling towers of blue-green ice stretch 50 meters overhead, fossils dot the canyon floor, and caverns drop into the abyss. The three major highlights all dazzle in their own way. The Grotto is a fast-flowing waterfall hidden beneath a giant curtain of ice. Angel Falls is a training ground for local ice climbers, and the Queen of the Maligne is a giant, freestanding ice tower. It’s ever-changing, but it’s often good to slip behind the entire column for a truly unique view. Designated as a Canadian Signature Experience by the Canadian Tourism Commission, the entire adventure is led by qualified guides who are familiar with the local geography—the canyon is part of the largest Karst System in North America—wildlife, and, perhaps most importantly, ice conditions. It’s also Jasper’s most popular winter tour because it’s fascinating for every member of the family. The Maligne Canyon Ice Walk season typically lasts from December to March, weather dependent. The tours last three hours, including two hours outside. All tours offer hotel pickup, too, so visiting Maligne Canyon is as easy as booking online."

We had an amazing evening with Sam taking us all around Jasper National Park in search of wildlife. He was so passionate and informative and was the perfect guide. Great humour, local insights and wonderful anecdotes. We had a very fortunate evening seeing grizzlies, moose, male elk, bald eagle with eaglets and plenty of other deer and elk, but the trip would have been worth it regardless for the friendly tour of the park whilst learning about the region. We found his knowledge on wildfires eye-opening and it was interesting to learn how this will be beneficial to the forest going forward.

Excellent tour and commentary provided by Kiwi Josh. We spent a solid 3hrs on the bus and saw so much! Black and grizzly bears, moose, elk, white-taled deer, mule deer and bald eagle. Josh was a very passionate tour leader, providing lots of humour, wildlife and local commentary. He provided us ample opportunity to experience the wildlife and liaised with his fellow tour colleagues to ensure everyone had the best opportunity they could to experience wildlife.

We recently had the pleasure of taking a Wildlife Tour with Maligne Adventures in Jasper, and it was truly unforgettable — all thanks to our incredible guide, Allan. The tour included stunning sights at Maligne Lake, Paradise Lake, and Medicine Lake, with bonus stops around Jasper to witness the impact of last year's wildfires and appreciate the strength of the local community. Allan made the entire experience exceptional. He’s knowledgeable, warm, and genuinely passionate about the wildlife and landscapes of Jasper. We were lucky to spot a wide range of wildlife — marmots, osprey, bald eagles, deer, elk, and even a bear in action chasing a group of elk! Allan’s enthusiasm and storytelling brought everything to life. He’s not just a great guide but a fantastic human being who made us feel welcomed and inspired throughout the journey. Thank you, Allan, for making our trip to Jasper so special. Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting the area — especially if you’re lucky enough to have Allan as your guide!

We had such a great time on the evening wildlife adventure tour! Our amazing guide, Sam, was so passionate and knowledgeable about the local animals and ecosystems. Thanks to his careful tracking we had the delight of observing moose, black bears and grizzlies, elk, deer, big horn sheep, and more. We had the best time and can’t recommend this tour enough. Thank you, Sam!

Highly recommend the wildlife search tour with Jake. We saw grizzly bears, a black bear, elk, osprey, eagles, and more. He also knew where to find moose, beavers, and coyotes based on his local knowledge. The company clearly cares about Jasper and its wildlife and it shows through their work. They were respectful of the animals while still making sure we got the best view possible. Thanks Jake!

Wow! What an experience! Obviously, seeing anything cannot be promised but we are always hopeful 🤞🏻 Sam and Catherine, our very knowledgeable guides were friendly, professional and spontaneous. The bus is comfortable and with big windows so matter what side you’re on, you can see. We were extremely lucky on our tour to see Woodpecker, Elk, Deer, Grizzly Bear with cubs, Moose with calf, Bald Eagle juvenile, Osprey, Pika and Marmot. The scenery was stunning, the weather perfect and although Jasper has been hugely affected by fire, it is still worth the visit 😁🥰

We had an amazing time on the evening wildlife tour! Booking on last minute, the evening before, I was thrilled that my parents and I got places on the tour. Both Sams (our guides) were enthusiastic and knowledgable about Jasper and the wildlife. I learnt so much and would have missed it having gone separately. They were thoughtful and respectful of the area and the animals, which is a big thing for me when I book animal-centric tours. We were super lucky and got to see big horned sheep, elk, coyotes, a black bear in the bushes (from a safe distance), and even more special - a grizzly bear mama and her cubs. It was one of the best days of the trip, I’m so glad we did it!

Our early season visit provided some challenges and flexibility, all met with expertise by our guides. They shared and educated us about this beautiful and unique place thoughtfully and with deep knowledge. We saw wildlife and learned about this area in ways we would have missed on our own!
