Malika Khevaek was the only hotel inside Khiva’s walled city – what a fantastic location! Everything was within a hundred meter reach! Everyone else had to enter the walled city gates every day to see the sites. The hotel operated a covered outdoor restaurant, one of the most picturesque eating places in the walled city. Breakfast food was quite limited. But dinner was very good. It was obviously a family run affair. The small informal lobby led to the courtyard. Around the courtyard were two floors of guest rooms; clearly, this had once been a rich merchant’s villa. The walls are nicely decorated with desert-caravan-bazaar scenes. ||We found it odd that there was no trash can in the room. The phone didn’t work so my wife had to keep going down to talk to the front desk. The rooms had tea sachets and cups, though we had to ask for a hot water kettle. Breakfast wasn’t impressive at all.

Fairly basic, but perfectly acceptable hotel in a great location in the centre of Khiva. Food was fine – served indoors at breakfast and in a canopied outdoor area the rest of the day. Some guests complained of a lack of hot water, but we had no such problems. Reception offers postage stamps for sale, but be wary of the ‘commission’ they charge.

A unique budget but actually a boutique themed hotel right in the heart of the internal city. The gorgeous silk draped cafe is very, very, popular with day time visitors and serves excellent homemade meals and high quality draft beer - we took all our meals here as it was just too good to pass by. Staff are hard working and friendly and stay on to handle breakfast which is good quality and served in a beautiful Russian empire style restaurant room. By night time, once the tourists have departed, the cafe calms to a more local and chilled vibe which suited us perfectly. Rooms are simple, cool, but very large so you can unpack in the vestibule - the room's tea set is the one I have been looking for!!!! I'd have asked to buy one but by then my case was laden. Tim on reception speaks excellent English, Russian, and no doubt other languages and is extremely efficient - they can also arrange for a massage therapist which my friend made use of after the long journey and he recommended it. Wish we could have stayed a little longer. Would stay again.

This is s small, friendly hotel. Not a luxury site but comfortable and in a great location within the old town. The rooms are large with decent bathrooms. There is a pleasant choikhana for outdoor eating. We had a great stay here and would love to return.

The hotel is very well located in the old town, and quiet. The staff are welcoming. The rooms are a little dated but clean. Air conditioning works really well. However, there are no bottles of water in the rooms, no kettle, no safe, and the shower is not very powerful. The towels are scratchy and like cardboard. All breakfast items were cold, even the fried eggs.

A beautiful little boutique hotel located in the Ichan Kala Fortress. Walking distance of everything worth seeing. It's no frills place, spotlessly clean, good wifi, good food. We were a group of five women travelling - the warmth with which the management received us was wonderful! The triple room was HUGE, to say the least! They obliged our requests for breakfast, served hot and on time. The heating in the rooms is more than adequate. Overall, the place is so quaint and charming - there's a lovely courtyard in the middle, the rooms have a character all their own, sparkling clean bathrooms and linen. Couldnt have asked for more.

The hotel is very well located, in the heart of the historic center, a few steps from the Kalta Minor Minaret. It is clean, quiet, the staff very friendly, and the breakfast has tasty products. the room is air conditioned, the terrace where you can have a coffee should not be neglected so you can feel the atmosphere on the old Silk Road.
