Malika Surf Camp is the perfect place to stay if you're in DAKAR, especially if it’s your first time in Africa or in this country.
It was my first time in an African country, and, of course, like with anything new, I felt a bit nervous. But the moment I arrived, I felt super comfortable and safe. They gave me all the info I needed to feel reassured about the safety of Dakar and Senegal in general.
The vibe of this place is amazing! It’s right in front of the beach, and they offer surfing lessons several times a day, plus other very cool activities. The travelers staying here are also incredible—it’s a great community of people. Every night, we all have dinner together at the same table, which makes it even more special and creates a family-like atmosphere.
Something I found really inspiring is their commitment to the local community, especially with kids. Every day, I saw local children coming by to get help with schoolwork and other tasks. Plus, they run “surfkids_shredding_senegal” (check it out here: surfkids_shredding_senegal), where they teach kids how to surf and support their education through this beautiful sport.
In short, Malika Surf Camp is definitely a must-visit spot in Dakar.
Big thanks to Marta and the whole team for the great vibes!
