Malika Surf Camp is the perfect place to stay if you're in DAKAR, especially if it’s your first time in Africa or in this country. It was my first time in an African country, and, of course, like with anything new, I felt a bit nervous. But the moment I arrived, I felt super comfortable and safe. They gave me all the info I needed to feel reassured about the safety of Dakar and Senegal in general. The vibe of this place is amazing! It’s right in front of the beach, and they offer surfing lessons several times a day, plus other very cool activities. The travelers staying here are also incredible—it’s a great community of people. Every night, we all have dinner together at the same table, which makes it even more special and creates a family-like atmosphere. Something I found really inspiring is their commitment to the local community, especially with kids. Every day, I saw local children coming by to get help with schoolwork and other tasks. Plus, they run “surfkids_shredding_senegal” (check it out here: surfkids_shredding_senegal), where they teach kids how to surf and support their education through this beautiful sport. In short, Malika Surf Camp is definitely a must-visit spot in Dakar. Big thanks to Marta and the whole team for the great vibes!

My spontaneous solo trip to Senegal turned out absolutely awesome. In Malika vibe in the house was super warm and welcoming, lovely people. For a beginner surfer the beach was a perfect place to learn - safe and easy access to plenty of practice in the water. Surf instructors were all very professional, patient and fun to hang out with, very encouraging atmosphere. One week did not turn me to pro surfer, but other than tan lines, I got to rest and relax and made many new friends.

It was one of the best surf experience that I’ve ever made. The house is so beautiful and near the spots. The guys of Malika are kind and helpful, they immediately make you feel at home. The typical food is really good too. |You are really able to enter in this big and wonderful family, and to live a true experience, I hope to go back soon!

very beautiful surfhouse with attention to the smallest details, located in front of yoff beach and super convenient for any trip even in the city, the staff and the volunteer boys of the house were nice and available for any of my needs. Marta and her family who run the surfhouse are always ready to solve your problems with a smile or give you useful advice! the surf program and availability of boards is good and you will have no difficulty finding what you are looking for to ride your waves.

Awesome base to go surf and explore the city of Dakar! Located right next to Yoff beach, this calm and relaxed community-style surf camp stands out with cute low budget accomodation possibilities combined with daily surf trips to the most rewarding surf spots around Dakar. The camp is run by Marta and Aziz, an Italian-Senegalese couple, who have been doing an amazing job in organizing the surf trips (usually two surf sessions per day), driving us around the crazy Dakar traffic and giving helpful advice on any culture, travel or health related questions... And on top of all that they find the time to coach a whole bunch of local kids how to surf and how to rip (some of them competing internationally!). Everyday we were welcomed with big smiles and an open ear. The surf camp includes half-board, which gives you even more time to enjoy the holidays.... while the breakfast is being prepared you can do yoga on the roof top terrace or melt in with the many locals running on Yoff beach, dinner's always been a delicious exploration into the Senegalese kitchen (and the one or two exceptional pasta days were equally celebrated ;-)). All in all a great experience and a great immersion into Dakar surf culture, big thanks!!

I will forever be grateful to Malika Surf Camp. Here I was able to begin to fulfill a lifelong dream of surfing. Although I struggled and even got teased a bit for it, I made progress and didn't give up. ||I met some very cool folks I am still in touch with, friends for life. ||The space is directly across from the beach, so getting to it is easy. The lovely family-style home-cooked meals provide a way to meet the other surfing students. I learned a lot from the more advanced surfers and was able to get encouragement from beginners, like me.

Malika Surf Camp is a family-run business located just in front of Yoff Beach, 20 min far from Dakar city center. I spent more than two months over there and it become suddenly my family. The hostel is so peaceful and quiet, you can always listen to the sound of the ocean or some guys playing drums nearby. It's a perfect accomodation for solo travelers (you'll meet crazy people all around the world with crazy stories to tell) or families as well, cats and dogs are free to welcome you! Malika owns also a business down the beach, where you could rent a surfboard or take some surfing classes with local coaches, or just enjoy a fresh smoothes while sunbathing by the beach. There's also a beach volley camp available every day and some gym and yoga retreat for your wellness. You just need to book your crazy senegalese experience!

I've spent a week in the surfhouse. Everybody is super friendly and the hostel with a huge terrace is very cozy. The surfhouse is next to the beach. Therefore it's very easy to grab your surfboard and go surfing for a while. Furthermore is the rental of boards as well as booking surf lessons very uncomplicated.
