Malmaison Birmingham (Birmingham, Midlands) 1 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"If you are not from the UK (or even if you are a particularly chauvinistic Londoner) it is possible that your image of Birmingham is stuck in the past. But this once-drab industrial city has had a makeover — we'll spare you the full Economist treatment, but, put plainly, the old, dreary Birmingham is nearly gone. Thanks to an influx of EU funding, cranes dot the skyline, and the city is re-styling itself as a thoroughly modern cosmopolis." - Tablet Hotels

+ excellent location - easy walk to New Street station, shops and restaurants. Double-double room (two double beds) accommodated the three of us perfectly: spacious room, big, comfy beds, separate bath and shower, excellent hospitality tray including tea, biscuits, bottled water (the latter two no longer a given in many hotels) and coffee machine/pods. A/c was effective and quiet. Generally quiet. Quality breakfast including plentiful and varied buffet, with nice cooked options served to the table. |- the music in the bar got progressively louder as the evening progressed, making conversation difficult. This was off-putting and I'm not quite sure who it was aimed at. It would be better to have different types of music playing and adjust the volume rather than feeling like you're in a nightclub and having to shout into your friends' ears. If we wanted to go to a club... that's what we'd do. And although the room was generally quiet, we had Bigfoot and the Hendersons in the room above who sounded like they were moving furniture til the early hours. (Not the hotel's fault.)

Located close to the Bullring and with a Q car park next door to the hotel, this hotel is ideally located. The rooms are of a very high standard, although a little dark. They are very spacious and are built to a high quality. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The bar has an extensive drinks menu and the happy hour prices are very inviting. Lastly onto the food. I rarely eat at hotel restaurants, but the food here is excellent. Easily on par with a respectable restaurant. I highly recommend staying here if you're visiting Birmingham.

Overall this is pretty good hotel. I've not used the gym or spa facilities. I have always visited on business trips. Rooms are generally impeccable, but I will say they are starting to show their age. However, still a very good experience. Breakfast wise, you get great service and the food is, for the most part, good. I think there's the odd chef that isn't up to the standards of the others, but to be honest, I've never thought to complain. It's pretty darn ok, ya know. If there were any complaints, it is this: please, please give complementary lip balm! The air con is very needed, but dries your lips fast. I have always left the hotel with crunchy, painful lips!!

I only booked a night here for after the Kendrick Lamar concert. But it was an excellent stay. The rooms were amazing. I actually got a free upgrade! The room was spacious, they had all the right amenities, including free bottled water. The hotel is located right by the train station so it’s really easy to get to. The service was excellent from the front desk and the hospitality staff. The breakfast was great too, I liked that it has both a continental buffet and cooked options you can choose from. The choices are a bit limited but most people will find something they’ll like. If I come back to Birmingham, I’ll be staying again.

10/10 for the location just minutes away from China town train station birmingham city centre stayed for 2nights. Room was clean bed is so good pillows were a bit soft but overall a great night sleep 😴. Woke up too late to go downstairs for breakfast so we ordered room service was worth every £. Overall stay 9/10. Will recommend ✨♥️🥂

We ran a meeting out of one of the pods as a last minute event. The staff were extremely helpful and the meeting room worked perfectly. No technical issues connecting to the wi-fi or in-room TV screen. The room was completely sound proofed and had great lighting. The food was excellent too and very well priced. It's an impressive facility, well located, and was excellent value overall. As a small business, it was perfect for us to meet up and we will definitely book again.

This was a stay over for a friends birthday as we were out in town.|Got a good rate of £129 - with a late checkout of 12pm.|Easy check in. Vending machine in foyer in case you require some essentials - ladies tight, charger, toiletries. Although I didn’t use this I thought it was very handy! |Gorgeous rooms, blackout curtains, small fridge, tea and coffee facilities and quite possibly the comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in.|I did send a request the day before asking if anything can be placed in my friends room to acknowledge her birthday (I was willing to pay for a bottle) but no one got back to me on the online request which was a real shame.|Overall lovely hotel l!
