Malmaison Brighton

I had a fantastic stay at Malmaison Brighton. Conor was absolutely exceptional from start to finish. He really took the time to understand the issues I was having with Booking.com and handled everything calmly and professionally, which made a stressful situation so much easier. The hotel was very clean, well presented and in a great location by the marina. The whole team were polite, friendly and genuinely attentive throughout my stay. I would definitely stay here again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others. Great service makes all the difference – thank you again to Conor and the team.

This is a really great hotel and excellent value too. My room had a balcony overlooking the marina and the staff were all very welcoming and highly professional. I particularly like the decor in this place - even the corridors are cool. I've stayed in a few Malmaison places and they always give each location a particular character making each one a memorable experience. I checked in quite late and only just made last orders in the restaurant (by a few minutes) but no one tried to hurry me up and they gave me plenty of time to peruse the menu and place my order (Thanks Alfie :-) ). Normally I don't tend to eat in hotel restaurants as they can often be rather uninspiring (captive audience), but the food here is absolutely superb! My rare fillet steak was cooked to perfection and really delicious. The portobello mushrooms were juicy and full of flavour and the truffle parmesan fries were really outstanding. Absolutely full marks to the chefs. This was one of the best dinners I've had in a long time. Wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and you absolutely have to eat in the restaurant. Just Magnificent. We stayed at the Malmaison for 3 nights to celebrate significant birthdays, having got a great deal for one of the Signature Suites on Booking.com - we stayed in the De Mar suite. The room is spacious with a very comfortable superking bed and a balcony overlooking Brighton Marina. The bathroom is fantastic with a double rainfall shower and a large, deep bath, both with shower gel and shampoo. The room and bathroom were both very clean. The staff we came across at the hotel were all very friendly and helpful. Whilst this is not the fault of the hotel, it should be noted that a number of restaurants and bars on the complex are permanently closed, so worth checking if there is something is particular that you were hoping to visit. Breakfast at the hotel was decent with lots of choice for the continental buffet and the hot selection is cooked to order. However, breakfast was located in a different location for all 3 of the mornings that we stayed, which felt a little chaotic. We would definitely recommend a stay at the Malmaison Brighton, even more so if you can get a good deal on the room rate!

We stayed here over the Christmas period to see family. Short version, wonderful and comfortable stay with great friendly staff. it's great value for money especially if you get a deal on booking.com. Normally we wouldn't be able to afford somewhere this nice. The room was really nice (club room) plenty of space with what we think is a sofa bed, but never used. Shower has ample space and is very straightforward to use. The coffee machine was a very nice touch, fresh coffee the second you get out of bed! Which was very comfy and slept really well. Seeing as your in the marina there are a lot of options to suit many of budgets. We didn't have dinner at the hotel but it's anything like breakfast I'd say it's very good. We had the full English, the french toast and the shaksuka across our stay. All accompanied by the continental options, which were also very nice. (Perfectly toasted bread with just one time through the machine) On our last night we went down to the bar to use our free cocktail vouchers. We had a pornstar martini, a cherry Manhattan and an old fashioned. Probably one of the smoothest old fashioned I've had in a long time.

About half hour walk from the pier and out of the town, which suited us as it was quiet. It is in a bit of a shopping area, around an Asda an whetherspoons, plus a few other chains, but ten minutes walk away we found a pleasant bar (the reading room) which is a great spot to go for a quiet drink. The hotel is nicely decorated with contemporary vibes.

What was meant to be a special anniversary and Christmas gift turned into a complete let-down.|I chose this hotel purely because I was informed in advance that it had spa facilities. This was confirmed by the hotel via email. However, upon arrival, I was told there is no spa, only a gym with pools and saunas that guests cannot access without a membership. This is not just disappointing, it’s misleading.|The problems didn’t stop there. Our room was not ready at check-in, forcing us to wait around half an hour, which is unacceptable given the price of the stay.|The next morning, we were then informed that we had to change rooms and floors because the hotel had accepted a large booking that requested the entire floor. Despite booking well in advance, our stay was disturbed for the hotel’s convenience and profit. No care, no empathy, no apology.|When we requested compensation, we were dismissed and told nothing would be offered because our booking “technically” remained the same. That response alone shows how little the hotel cares about guest experience.|This stay did not feel like a celebration in any way. It felt disorganised, unfair, and poorly managed. The hotel is vastly overpriced for the standards it delivers. I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a special or relaxing stay.

Came down for NYE for a overnight stay . Booked in the Chez mal restaurant for the evening. Food was very good , but unfortunately the delay on food wasn’t great . But would like to say a HUGE thank you to Alfie our waiter who made our evening experience a bit better as he could tell we weren’t happy . |The assistant manager deducted some money off our bill and gave us some drink vouchers which we used at the bar . |Massive thanks to the bar tender who was very knowledgeable. Asa non drinking now it was a lovely experience to have some great cocktails. ||We stayed an extra night as we enjoyed our| stay on the 3rd floor in our Deluxe Seaview room. |Breakfast was good .

This hotel failed on multiple levels and completely ruined what was meant to be a special anniversary stay. The booking was made specifically because spa facilities were confirmed by the hotel prior to arrival. This information turned out to be false. At check-in, we were told there is no spa available to hotel guests, only a members-only gym facility. This alone makes the booking misleading and unjustifiable at this price point. We were then required to wait over 30 minutes past check-in time for our room, which reflects poor organisation and a lack of respect for guests’ time. The following morning, reception contacted us to say we needed to move rooms because a large group had booked the entire floor. Despite booking two months in advance, we were inconvenienced due to the hotel’s decision to prioritise a later, more lucrative booking. This significantly disrupted our stay and shows how little they care about their guests, only money. When we raised concerns and requested compensation, we were refused outright, being told that since the booking details were “unchanged,” nothing would be offered, an unacceptable response given the circumstances. This hotel is overpriced, misleading in its advertising, and poorly managed. It is not suitable for special occasions, and I regret choosing it. I would never ever recommend this place to anybody, avoid it.

Nice hotel in the center of the city, however the Wi-Fi sucked and the 90 percent of the channels on the tv didn't come in. The tv thing may not be a big deal while on vacation, but only having 1 channel available to watch when you're winding down before bed, sucks. I believe my hubby booked this through a third party and it was supposed to be a 4 star hotel, I've been to better. This was for our honeymoon so we did experience better hotels while traveling through Europe. Ps.. France hotels sucked altogether. So this hotel was still better than France.

Poorly equipped hotel in a weird location. Not worth the overpriced rooms when there are so many better hotels in Brighton. I booked an ocean view room in peak season about two months out. The room price was high at 250GBP but Malmaison is normally a good hotel so I figured it would be worth the price. Arriving at this hotel I could see it was in a weird location. Firstly the Marina itself is a little our from the town center so not that easy to get to and the hotel is in the middle of a mall of sorts with an entrance below an Indian restaurant and surrounded by mid tier restaurants like Nandos. There is a big Asda across the way and a McDonald's next to the mall. The hotel has no parking so you have to use the free public parking lot next to McDonald's. The hotel itself is pretty poorly appointed. It has no gym or any other facilities beyond a small bar and restaurant where for 18 GBP a day you can have a pretty sorry looking breakfast. The room itself was small and nicely decorated with cool wallpaper of x-rayed luggage. The bed was comfortable but very little space for such an expensive room. The bathroom was tiny and the walk in shower was not level so water poured out onto the mat and floor when using it. The 'ocean view' that I paid extra for was a communal balcony that all the ocean view rooms had access to. It was a weird setup and multiple nights I could hear other guests right outside my window smoking and talking at 1am. It wasn't a bad hotel but it was more what I'd expect from a Travel Lodge or cheap chain not Malmaison and not at the price they charge. There are so many hotels in Brighton do yourself a favor and avoid this one.
