This hotel failed on multiple levels and completely ruined what was meant to be a special anniversary stay.
The booking was made specifically because spa facilities were confirmed by the hotel prior to arrival. This information turned out to be false. At check-in, we were told there is no spa available to hotel guests, only a members-only gym facility. This alone makes the booking misleading and unjustifiable at this price point.
We were then required to wait over 30 minutes past check-in time for our room, which reflects poor organisation and a lack of respect for guests’ time.
The following morning, reception contacted us to say we needed to move rooms because a large group had booked the entire floor. Despite booking two months in advance, we were inconvenienced due to the hotel’s decision to prioritise a later, more lucrative booking. This significantly disrupted our stay and shows how little they care about their guests, only money.
When we raised concerns and requested compensation, we were refused outright, being told that since the booking details were “unchanged,” nothing would be offered, an unacceptable response given the circumstances.
This hotel is overpriced, misleading in its advertising, and poorly managed. It is not suitable for special occasions, and I regret choosing it. I would never ever recommend this place to anybody, avoid it.
