The Maloja Pass is a scenic alpine crossing in the Swiss canton of Graubünden, connecting the Engadin Valley with the Bergell (Bregaglia) region and Italy. Known for its sweeping curves and stunning landscapes, the pass is accessible year-round, though winter conditions can be challenging.
The road from St. Moritz ascends gently, offering breathtaking views of lakes like Sils and Silvaplana, while the descent toward Chiavenna (Italy) is steeper, with dramatic switchbacks and dense forests. Unlike some of the more extreme Alpine passes, Maloja is relatively manageable for drivers and cyclists, though its long downhill sections require caution.
