Best chicken place!! The creamy onion chicken is amazing. The portion of chicken is huge and lasted 2 people 2 meals. It still tasted great the next day. For such a big portion, the price is great! The side dishes were very delicious as well. Customer service was also amazing! I will come again and try more of the menu!!

Google
My go to spot for chicken. Usually get the Creamy onion chicken, soy garlic wings, and the Dak-bokk-eum-tang (spicy chicken soup) with my side of rice. Never dissapoints! The Mamas and staff are always so friendly and attentive.

We went for my son’s birthday, his choice of course. He & his girlfriend love this place. Food was very good. The chicken is very delicious. Very tasty! All the dishes were fresh. Casual, laid back especially for a young crowd. Service was decent. Only negative is my Japchae… noodles were chewy & undercooked.

Google
Very quick bite! The 8 pieces are bigger than you think. Great bon chon as well!

Google
My boyfriend and I absolutely loved the food at Mama Chicken! We got the 8pc sweet and spicy wings to start and they were super crunchy and flavorful the sauce was great!! Then we got the Curry Don Katsu and the Bulgogi-deop-bop for our entrees. The Curry Don Katsu was delicious. The yellow sauce that was on the fried chicken was a great touch. I wish there was a little bit more because it was so good!! We also loved the Bulgogi as it was tasty and not very greasy. We definitely would recommend this place to grab a bite if you want some great fried chicken and wings. We will be back!!!

Food was spectacular!!! I happened to just mindlessly walk into this place without any plans with my friends. Best comforting korean food in my heart. Not too saucy and salty, just the perfect amount over all, very tasty and comforting for my korean genes. Only draw back is the layout of this place. During cold days with people going in and out, I sat near the front door and feeling the pockets of cold freezing air while eating wasn't something I enjoyed during my meal... Overall I would go back for food for sure.

Google
Heard many good things about the fried chicken, so decided to see for myself and give it a try. We went there randomly last Saturday night with a group of 6; when we got there, there was a line out the door and we had to wait around 30 minutes to be seated. After being seated we got some complimentary starters, white radish, coleslaw, and spicy rice cakes. We then got the cheesy corn, spicy rice cakes, cheese balls, and French fries. The French fries and spicy rice cakes with cheese were great but the cheesy corn was mostly overcooked corn with no taste and the cheeseballs were not good at all, tasted like plain bread. Was looking forward to eating the cheesy corn with my chicken so kind of a disappointment hopefully in the future they can fix the recipe. They also kept bringing food out randomly which was not ideal, and it took them awhile to refill drinks and bring extra stuff we needed. My boyfriend got his drumsticks first while the rest of us waited another 20 minutes for ours to come out. For our meals we each got the 8-piece wings; some with soy garlic and some with sweet & spicy sauce. The wings were amazing, especially the soy garlic. Crunchy on the outside, moist on the inside, and super nice flavor. If you can’t handle spicy, I would not recommend the sweet/spicy it was just extreme spiciness. They also gave us gloves and a bucket for the bones which was cool. I would definitely come back on a day less crowded and just specifically for the wings, radish, cheesy rice cakes and fries. Everything else was not needed.

The portion is way bigger than I expected… And very delicious fried chicken with creamy cheese!

Yelp
Great communal space, almost childlike but not really, just a very relaxed atmosphere. Food is great and fairly priced. Portion wise, perfect! There's always leftovers and they never skimp out on the flavor. Staff is always very friendly regardless of the time we visit. Overall, would definitely continue to come back.

Yelp
Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 3.5/5 We didn't wait long for a table but food took longer than preferred (we were hungry so time may be a bit biased). Food was good, but the side dishes could be skipped.

Yelp
Pretty good casual spot. good for quick bites w friends. the chicken was phenomenal ofc. the tteokbokki lacked a little flavor for me but i mixed in the wing sauce and it was redeemed. really good portion for price. also got the bulgogi soup, a little too sweet for me but still good. no complaints for me, service was nice and sweet. would return w friends.

Yelp
We had a really long day of errand runs. We were in the Fort Lee area originally and wanted some Korean fried chicken. We tried a very popular place but they had a 1 hour wait time. We were a bit too famished, so we searched for another Korean chicken place and landed ourselves here. Glad we did. Spacey, clean, cute decor, pleasant service, moderately fast food to table. We tried the half chicken- spicy soy garlic, sweet and spicy wings and soy garlic wings with fries. The fries were really good, not average. A good high quality crisp to it. All the chicken we had was very delicious. The chicken wings are good quality, cooked well and the sauces are absolutely delicious. They put an assortment of things before the meal. 2 ketchup, spicy rice cake, pickled radish, and a yolky coleslaw. Service was good but nothing that stood out. I will definitely be back for more wings, coleslaw and fries.

Yelp
Mama Chicken is consistently good with their food. We get the soy garlic and spicy soy garlic wings and also the drumsticks. The only issue is it's really expensive. For 16 wings & 4 drumsticks, it's $40+. That's what I could spend at an all you can eat KBBQ spot. They are quick to get your order when you order for pick up. It's a clean establishment.

Jenna W.

Yelp
This is my second time trying chicken in North Jersey. I would definitely this spot for a consistently good chicken. The rose chicken was soooo delicious I could eat the sauce by itself. The sweet and spicy chicken was spicy if you can handle it. The soy garlic was also juicy and flavorful but a tad bit salty. They also gave us tteoboki, coleslaw, and radish for side dishes! We went with 5 people and this was more than enough. I enjoyed the inside with a interesting decor and sticky note drawings from previous customers.

Punura W.

Yelp
Mama Chicken exceeded my expectations! The kimchi fried rice, sans bacon, was amazing - full of flavor. The chicken katsu was a highlight, and the sauce on top tied everything together perfectly. Overall, a delightful experience that left me impressed.

Yelp
Wow, it was a big surprise that I haven't tried Mama Chicken after all of the years when I just passed by this place. Greeted by a super nice owner and waitress, fried chickens were very tender and small enough for one bite. It was well paired with Creamy Orions, better than pairing of the sweet radish & chickens. Onions were sliced very thin so that they worked just like scallions in Padak. It was also visually very pleasing. Three big slices onions reminded me of Korean stacks of rocks, which people make a wish for. The interior of the restaurant was interesting as well; its open ceiling was covered by wooden pallets, and suspended lights from them added 3-dimensional grids in an unique rhythm. The Wall was covered by thousands of post-its. Will try other menus soon.

Yelp
Came here with a party of 8 and needed a somewhat quick dinner. Luckily we came to Mamas Chicken and were seated right away around 5PM. It wasn't busy so we didn't have to wait. We were greeted promptly and placed our order. Initially, I didn't think it would be enough for 8 of us but it was so filling! We also ordered the chicken gizzards and kimchi fried rice (not pictured). The sauces were all pretty different and the chicken was fried to perfection. The creamy onion sauce tasted similar to an Alfredo sauce, and the rose sauce tasted similar to a marinara. The chicken was all so juicy and flavorful, everyone was stuffed! I'd love to come back here if I'm craving fried chicken!

Vivian C.

Yelp
One of my go-to places for chicken in Palisades Park. Food is delicious, we always get the Onion Chicken, which is perfect to share with 2-3 people and supplement with something else like bu dae jigae. We went with a group of 4 and had to wait about 15 minutes around 6:30pm to get a table, but it went by quick. Staff was friendly and place is clean and fun decor. Like everywhere in Palisades park, street paid parking is limited but there is free parking in the neighborhood streets if you want to walk further. One of my favorite places to eat at in Palisades Park, can't wait to come back!

Trang H.

Yelp
We ordered Rose Chicken, Mama's Special, and cheesy corn. The Rose chicken was quite interesting--I never thought pasta sauce would go with fried chicken. Everything was yummy. The price is reasonable. We paid $70 for the three dishes.

Alice R.

Yelp
I was craving Korean fried chicken and a bowl of rice so my brother took me here when I went home to Jersey for the weekend. I got the sweet and spicy fried chicken and he got the boneless soy garlic. I also got a side of rice and he got the fries. The chicken was interesting bc my wings were juicy, but I got tired of them bc the sauce was too sweet. The boneless was dry, but we loved the soy garlic sauce. Think we will get the soy garlic wings next time we come here. If we choose to come here again. Nothing wrong with the place for us not to go back, but Palisades Park is notorious for having new eateries that do not last a long period of time. It is fun to try these places out before they disappear. The fries we do recommend because it seems like they double fry it. With a thing of mayo, it is good fries.

Justine W.

Yelp
Solid spot for Korean food in palisades park. Loved the banchans, which included ttebokki and even gave us a refill when we finished it. Chicken was well seasoned and really crispy. The kimchi fried rice was cheesy and the bulgogi stew was light and sweet. Overall, I would come back to try the other chicken flavors, and the servers was really nice and attentive.

Yelp
Another night out! It's getting kind of cold and we were still in the mood for fried chicken so we came to Mama Chicken. Food: Tonight we tried the a 4 piece soy garlic drumstick with the fishcake udon soup. The drumsticks hit the spot for our salty, umami, savory fried chicken craving. Pairing it with the sweet and soothing broth of the udon soup was definitely the right move on this cold day. Service: We got there around 6 pm and were able to get seated upon walking in. We took our time with the menu but our orders came out within 10 minute of ordering. Ambiance: They have a unique wall art situation with different kinda of cutlery plastered to the wall. It all looks very cute. On top of that, they have pictures of many dishes on the wall to help visualize menu items. The room is brightly lit with an open floor setup and a good amount of tables and seating. I'd suggest getting here before 6:30 if you don't want to wait for a table. By the time we finished our dinner, there was a line of people waiting to be seated. Overall, very yummy!

Christin K.

Yelp
Lots of different style and sauce choices. We especially love their scallion chicken which comes with honey mustard sauce and spicy sauce topping along with scallion and onions! Their chicken taste freshly fried and always piping hot! The batter is not too thick which is love as well. Recommend this place

Yelp
With so many Korean restaurants in Palisades Park, it is really hard to know which one to go to. We decided to take our chance on Mama chicken. The waitress was super nice and friendly. She was very accommodating when we changed our order after we placed it. They give the traditional Korean small plates before bringing out our entree. The waitress even refilled our small plates. We ordered the Creamy Onion Chicken. This dish had very crispy boneless chicken surrounded with onion sauce on the bottom of the platter. The top had onion rings. The dish was a lot but was pretty tasty. The fried chicken was fresh and delicious. The ambiance of the place was very nice. I loved the kitchen utensil decor.

Aneesha M.

Yelp
always satisfied when I come here to eat! delicious food with great flavor, service is nice as well. The atmosphere is very cute, always filled with families and friends. Very nice, social, "enjoy a meal together" vibe.

Roger A.

Yelp
Sheeeeeeesh. Ambiance was ok. Service was good! Owner was really nice. Rose chicken was good and can feed easily 4 people then you can get something else. Recommend!

Stephanie B.

Yelp
Delicious, fresh super crispy chicken. Boneless chicken is boneless chicken thighs and a total game changer. Be ware the crispy chicken has some spice (keep that in mind when ordering for children or those with no spice tolerance). The soy garlic is delicious too but the surprise star was the glass noodles with beef. The noodle texture was amazing lots of great flavor, plenty of beef and a very large portion!

Kio C.

Yelp
Lovely fried chicken / foods spot. I got an order of the classic fried wings and soy garlic and I think I might actually like the classic one better. I also got a curry pork katsu and it was flavorful. Loved that the side dishes include tteboki. My only issue was for both my wings order I had 3 wings and 5 thighs. When I brought it up to the server she quickly gave me another wing. Will be back to try the Mama special next time!

Yelp
We came here on a very very cold fall day (it was 30 degrees F with the wind chill). I was craving cheesy tteokbokki, and my family was craving fried chicken (literally always craving something different than my family), so we decided on a happy medium: a chicken place that serves tteokbokki. Upon coming in, we were greeted by a kind Korean woman. However, where we were seated, I literally still felt the windchill of outside. She graciously was able to move us to a table next to the heater. It was still cold, but doable. We ordered tteokbokki (yusss), a variety of fried chicken (soy garlic drumsticks, sweet and spicy wings, and spicy soy garlic wings), as well as pa-dak: scallion chicken. My mom last minute threw in chicken ginseng soup to warm us up from the cold weather outside. Can you assume that we were chickened out after this? Yes, yes you can. But I CAN tell you it was WORTH IT. Here's what we liked: PANCHAN (APPETIZERS) always love the appetizers they give at Korean restaurants, and this one did not disappoint. Korean fried chicken is usually eaten with pickled radish, and they definitely gave us the amount we needed, plus kimchi, egg salad, and your traditional tteok panchan (rice cake appetizer) too! FLAVOR When I say everything was flavorful, I mean it. They did not disappoint. My tteokbokki had two different cheeses - mozzarella and cheddar- melting into the spicy tteokbokki sauce. The chicken ginseng soup was perfectly seasoned, hearty, and truly warmed the soul. Every bite of chicken was packed with sweet, salty, and umami. The sweet and spicy chicken was probably the best as it hit this sweet middle ground on the tastebuds. To cleanse our palates in between chickens, we ordered two orders of rice, which leads me to my next point... ATTENTIVENESS The servers were very attentive and listened to our needs. They checked in with us every 10-15 minutes or so. I also loved that they served us barley tea when it was super super cold VARIETY The menu says it all. They can do so much with chicken here, it's not even funny. I'm here for it and I wish I had the stomach to eat it all in one visit because I don't even live in NJ anymore (for those that do, do me a favor and try a different chicken dish here as much as possible :') please and thank you!!) What could be better: WARMTH Can't speak on the summer time, but the cold winter days can be uncomfortable. I would love it if they can fix their HVAC SEATING The seats were lowkey uncomfortable as well. It could be me getting old, but comfier seats would've been nice. All in all, this was a SOLID decision to try Mama Chicken. I'll definitely be back on my next north NJ adventure !!

Yelp
Wow Mama Chicken is a bomb! I live in New York and I always eat Korean food in NY but everyone knows there are better Korean food in New Jersey! Came to Fort Lee with friends on a Wednesday afternoon to try different food. My friend recommended this place because of their fried chicken wings! It's a lovely restaurant with many seats and a wall with a lot of post-it drawings. Even tho there's only one lady taking orders and serving, she is very quick and friendly! We ordered the kimchi cheese bacon fried rice and crispy chicken. The restaurant gives out three appetizers: veggies, radish and spicy rice cake before the our actual food come. I can't describe how good the Kimchi cheese fried rice is!!! We stirred and mixed the cheese with fried rice, the Amount of cheese is insane, it's one of the best combo! They have many different flavors for chicken wings such as popular soy garlic flavor but we decided to try the crispy chicken wings and I think we made the right decision, not only the skin is extremely crispy but also very juicy! We didn't dip them in any sauce at all! Next time when I come to Fort Lee, I know where to go again

The Critical J.

Yelp
PROS: the food was amazing and well priced while the time it took to come out as fast. The menu variety was also good and the atmosphere was very quaint. CONS: they ignored tables that had to be turned over and didn't clean the floor so there was a lot of food scraps on it. Parking is scarce since there's only paid street parking. Also the young hostess was bitter to us. Lastly they don't even have bbq sauce OVERALL: I would order takeout from this place since their food quality is good, but as for sitting down and eating, I would have to think about it

Kevin Z.

Yelp
Some of the best Korean side dishes were offered here, including rice cakes. Both fried chicken flavors we got were spicy, but they weren't really all that spicy, so don't worry about their being too hot. They were crispy but I'd probably skip the spicy soy garlic flavor next time. It was a little bland. The sweet and spicy sauce was good though. Don't expect too much in terms of service here, and the interior is reasonably well done. Good for a first date -- very casual. Big tables and there is ample separation between tables.

Amy C.

Yelp
Been here a few times with friends and we shared a bunch of fried chicken lol. The legs and wings were huge and filling!

Angelica J.

Yelp
Came here with some friends on a Friday night. There was a couple minute wait since the restaurant was busy. I love how they have pictures of almost all their menu items on the wall, the visualization helps in figuring out what exactly I want to order. The staff were friendly and accommodating. My friends and I ordered the Creamy Onion Chicken, Rice and Fish Cakes, and Cheese Corn. I really liked the Creamy Onion Chicken and Cheese Corn. The Cream Onion Chicken comes with 3 onion rings at the top. It is boneless chicken with onions and sauce. I loved it, the chicken went well with the sauce. Although I'm not a huge fan of onions, I enjoyed eating it with the chicken for more flavor. The Cheese Corn is just melted cheese on corn, but it was absolutely delicious. The only thing that my friends and I weren't a huge fan of were the rice cakes. The sauce from the rice cake was watered down and didn't have much flavor at all. I probably won't re-order that again. All in all, I really like this restaurant and their fried chicken. I will definitely be back whenever I am in the area. I would highly recommend to anyone who loves fried chicken!

Mike D.

Yelp
Best Korean style chicken I've had! I had these to go, they took a while to make but very much worth the wait and the trip over. Spicy soy garlic are a great mix of spice and tang, very much recommend this place for their wings.

Jecy L.

Yelp
We ordered the soy garlic chicken after dinner as a late night snack and the food fulfilled my late night cravings. The food came out quick and the decor on the walls is interesting to look at.

Lily C.

Yelp
This is a ligit good Korean fried chicken place. My husband got the sweet and spicy bonless and I got soy garlic bonless. Both were good. The sweet and spicy has a nice after kick. I didn't particualy like that it was completely covered in the sauce, because it made the chicken not crispy anymore. I would recommend getting the sauce on the side. This way you can dip as you eat to retain the crispyness. However, my husband didn't mind it at all. The portion was very good for the price. We would for sure visit again.

Sophie G.

Yelp
I've come here twice and had a great experience both times. There's a lot of interesting decor on the walls and you can leave a post it note on their post it wall. My first visit we ordered the sweet and spicy boneless chicken and Jeyukdeopbop (제육덮밥). The chicken was surprisingly juicy I liked the sauce. I personally thought it was little too salty for me but it was a good level of spice. The pork in the 제육덮밥 was insanely good -- I really liked eating it with the rice and sauce, and adding the pieces of veggie gave a refreshing break from all the spice and salt. I was pleasantly surprised by the side dishes which included pickled radish, coleslaw, and tteokbokki. My second visit we ordered the kimchi cheese bacon deop bop after a friend recommended it. It was very cheesy and we couldn't taste much of the kimchi, but luckily I'm not lactose intolerant so it was no problem. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area!

Connie C.

Yelp
Mama Chicken is one of the few Korean fried chicken places where you can sit down and eat. So, bring a group of friends and some beer because it's also BYOB! They have a good menu with interesting options, such as the the Padak, Chicken with Scallion and Creamy Onion Chicken--both of which are boneless fried chicken topped with a sauce. We actually ordered a lot of food (or seemingly so because the portions were bigger than expected) since we came with a group of 5. Other dishes that we ate besides the two previously mentioned included: Soy Garlic Wings, Cheesy Corn, and Kimchi Cheese Bacon-Deop-Bop. My favorites were the Padak, Chicken with scallion and Kimchi Cheese Bacon-Deop-Bop, which is pan-fried kimchi rice with melted cheese. However, I do think the breading for the regular wings was a bit thick compared to the meat of the chicken in terms of ratio, though. Overall, we ended up feeling super full and needing to pack some leftovers for home.

Alicia N.

Yelp
I'd say a solid 3.5 but 4 because service was good and the food was tasty for the most part and the portion generous. Only think is the crispy chicken and the onion rings really didn't have too much flavor- so I'd go for the chicken with the flavored sauces instead of either of those. The chicken katsu was tasty and we were actually able to substitute the pork cutlet for chicken on the special. The salad was also really good. Went back for takeout within a week! Interior is very cute - check the interesting wall decor. Will certainly go back!

Alex W.

Yelp
My favorite Pal Park restaurant. Make sure to bring someone Korean (half kidding); all the workers there feel like Korean moms. The dogbokki and fried chicken are always exquisite here.

Sy Y.

Yelp
This establishment is located in the heart of K-town in Palisades Park. In comparison to so many Korean fried chicken places, it offers several food options aside from just 'fried chicken'. It was the first place in US I got to try the Rosé chicken. Texture of chicken is crispy, overall well seasoned and portion is generous. Their sampler combo with Don katsu & other items was quite generous in portion as well. We were served a small portion of tukkbokki as an appetizer, nice touch. And, of course, this establishment draws in all ages since it's a BYOB. I took a star off since like most places on Broad ave, they do not have dedicated parking. Make sure to feed the meter otherwise, you may end up with a gift of parking ticket :) Cheers to chicken and beer!

Krs M.

Yelp
Great chicken really but almost $32 dollars for regular HALF fried chicken seems much. The fries were soggy this time around but chicken still top notch. Service fast for pick up, earlier than the promised time of pick up too.

Angelica Q.

Yelp
Great quality chicken and friendly staff. Very great sized portions and good for meal sharing. Restaurant itself has a welcoming ambiance and perfect for a group of friends

Wen Na Z.

Yelp
I had this restaurants bookmarked for the longest time after watching Strictly Dumplings' vlog of restaurants in Palisades Park. And we finally got a chance to try it out today! It's not surprising that this place is known for their chicken. We ordered the creamy onion chicken, soy garlic wings, and French fries. The creamy onion chicken also came with a stack of onion rings. The cream sauce tasted like a sweet version of Alfredo sauce (not quite my fav). I think their soy garlic chicken could have used a little bit more sauce. But overall, I thought the chicken was fried well with just the right amount of crunch and perfectly juicy. While not that we minded, we were a little confused about the service since it seemed like it was a table service kind of restaurant- after they seated us, we ended up having to go to their counter to order and to ask for the check to pay since it didn't seem like anyone was stopping by our table again.

Don C.

Yelp
Had the wings and boneless wings - soy garlic. They and the sides were all delicious. We did take-out and the food was promptly ready and pick up was very quick and efficient. Highly recommend!

Jeff H.

Yelp
Superb!! Can taste the effort in making the fried chicken and Korean cuisine. Was here for a quick lunch, and already planning to come back again. Best in town cheese kimchi fried rice!! For the cheese kimchi fried rice, there are soooooo much cheese surrounding the rice. The kimchi fried rice was just about right in taste, good mix and just about right in terms of level of spiciness and saltiness. Normally I like fried rice dry, but this fried rice is moist in a good way to mix well with the cheese, very thoughtful here. When mixing with the cheese, the smell was so inviting. A small detail I love on the rice is it came on a hot iron cast pot. So some of the rice will get burned on the pot and those are the BEST part of the fried rice. So don't miss out on it! We had the plain fried wings as well. Thin coat and fluffy, super crispy. More importantly, they were able to keep the meat tender and juicy. Having both features is quite difficult for fried chicken and Mama Chicken did an amazing job with i

Linh Q.

Yelp
The BEST Korean fried chicken I've ever had. I've brought my friends and family here to share their famous rose chicken, and it's always exceeded their expectations. Everyone has to try their rose chicken and kimchi fried rice at least once in their lives. The pricing is reasonable and I believe it's BYOB. 11/10 restaurant

Angelo B.

Yelp
The chicken here is delicious and prices are fairly reasonable. Tried the 4 drumsticks sweet and spicy, as well as 16 wings soy garlic. First of all this was much too much food for 2 people. We took the leftovers home and they were still crunchy 2hrs later. Sweet and spicy was my favorite. A little on the spicy side but not too bad. Flavor was great. It's a little messy though. Chicken was super juicy. Wings were decent although I couldn't taste a strong soy or garlic flavor. It tasted more original to me. The wings had a good amount of meat. Street parking only which wasn't too bad to find. Metered spots close by and free parking a little further.

Shirley W.

Yelp
Really solid Korean fried chicken place! There's so many options nearby, but I would say this is one of the better ones. Three of us went and got the 16 piece wing combo (soy garlic), kimchi fried rice, and cheesy corn. The portion sizes are pretty big and was enough for all of us to share. Total after tip was $54. The chicken was so crispy, tender, and wasn't drenched in the sauce. Corn and kimchi fried rice were really good as well, can't go wrong with extra melted cheese!

Desiree D.

Yelp
so....this place makes some real good chicken. i can handle spice, but both spicy wings i got brought the heat! the wings are plump, not overly juicy, but not dry either. theyre pricy, but i came with a friend and thankfully we split everything. i was pretty full after 5 wings anyway. we did 8 of spicy soy garlic and 8 of sweet & spicy. why did we get 2 spicy? we messed up. idk what we were thinking. theyre messy & spicy and my mouth was on fire. id come back and try soy garlic. we grabbed some fries too which were fried so nicely! oh and apparently wings arent enough here, we were fed some korean apps. the rice cakes which were cold and in the tomato type of sauce - not a big fan. some pickled veggies, which i love. and a mayo-esque cabbage? not a fan. to be honest service sucked too. we were forgotten about and had to wave down the people pretty often. 2 times i got up and had to go to the counter. basically this review is a mixed bag of pros and cons, come and try the wings and let it speak for itself.

Thien V.

Yelp
Food was Bussin and so was the service. Come here every time I'm in the area and it never disappoints. Highly recommended!

Alan L.

Yelp
Craving some korean fried chicken we came here because of the reviews. The place is very easy to find and has a wide variety of foods. If you opt to dine in you are provided with a few banchans. We ordered the pork katsu and the soy garlic chicken. The pork katsu was great and the sauce on top was perfect! Best we've ever had! We wanted to try another flavor but just wanted one order of chicken and asked if we could do half one flavor and half something else, but we weren't able to (no biggie). For the soy garlic chicken, while it was good, it didn't have enough of the soy garlic sauce. We were pretty much eating "crispy" chicken with a drizzle of soy garlic. Overall taste and price for what you get is very good! Would come back for the katsu, but would like a more soy garlic sauce/flavoring in the chicken

Imtiaz S.

Yelp
Southern Fried Chicken is a thing. People recognize and accept this comfort food all around the world. It deserves all the accolades that it gets. Having said that, let us recognize there is a new sheriff in town, It is the Korean Fried Chicken. Yes there is more to Korean food than just BBQ, Sushi/Sashimi, Soon Dubu (Tofu Soup), Naeng Myun (Buckwheat Noodles), Gopchang (I leave it to you to figure this one out ), ............... Every subcategory is a mini universe in itself. For a nation relatively small in size, the Korean cuisine is vast (and delicious). Between NY/NJ, we are blessed with four big areas where one can find a decent selection of Korean Food. Amongst the early Korean Chicken arrivals to US were Bonchon, Boom Boom, and Pelican. Compared to the typical local Fried Chicken, these are pricey. Soon thereafter the flood gates opened, and today just on Broad Ave in Pal Park NJ, you can find a handful. BB.Q Chicken is the talk of the town. Today, I went to Mama Chicken on Broad Ave in Pal Park, NJ to try their Rose Chicken (see the attached photos). It is boneless, crispy, popcorn like fried chicken doused in spicy creamy marinara sauce. Comes with sides (called Banchan) of Spicy Rice Cakes, Pickled Radish and Coleslaw. Try this crispy boneless chicken doused in spicy creamy marinara sauce and you will understand why Korean Fried Chicken is a thing. BTW there are a lot of choices on the menu at Mama Chicken, Rose Chicken is just of the many items.

Yelp
Below is some of the food that I was able to take a picture of before finishing it all. Food portions were grand, flavor was explosive, and the hospitable feel from the staff was exceptional. Will visit once again to sample more of the menu.

Yelp
This place was a solid really good fried chicken restaurant! I would definitely go back here. I had Sweet & Spicy boneless chicken which was amazing in terms of flavor, and the chicken with scallion was so good as well. The only dish that I wouldn't reorder again was the cheesy corn. It just had way too much cheese and the corn was very dry due to the cheese. Will definitely go back sometime soon!

Yelp
The quality of the food has gone down at this place. I usually order their Tonkatsu dish which was one of the best in the neighborhood. However, after ordering it again recently, I noticed the pork tasted like it was refried from yesterday. It was thin, tough to chew, and very dry. I'm not sure what happened but I am sadly disappointed. I guess I'll have to search for another Tonkatsu restaurant.
