My husband saw this restaurant featured on the food network channel so we traveled from TX to see if the rumor was true...it was.
Upon pulling up to the establishment it looked like a little hole in the wall, nothing special on the eye. On the inside, they had plenty of food behind a hot bar ready to serve but we chose to have our main course cooked to order.
We settled for the famous "chicken and waffles", which was season good and was piping hot. For our sides we choose the shell mac n cheese, yams, mashed potatoes with gravy and greens. The sides were very filling and the portions were more than enough. To wash it all down we had their lemonade. We were too full for dessert, so we grabbed it to go (2 servings of banana pudding). Between the two of us we spent approximately $37. Mama E's did not disappoint and I would recommend if you are passing through town to make it pit stop.
