Mama Goose

I love shopping at Mama Goose for my three granddaughters. Always find lovely clothes, so much so that I basically don't buy them new clothes. I leave that to their other grandparents! The vast majority of my finds have been appreciated by my kids and grandkids. Some they absolutely love. I also have found some nice toys.

I love stopping in to Mama Goose to look for things for my grandchildren and I always find something they need. The store is well organized and the gently-used clothing is of good quality and priced reasonably. I also appreciate how knowledgeable and helpful the staff is in helping me find things or recommending where else to look. It’s a great store with a warm and human feel.

We have thought of Mama Goose as our go-to and pretty much only store to buy the kids clothes for ten years! The amazing staff has seen us through so many seasons of forest schools and summer fun and all things in between. Sadly my oldest (recently) has grown so tall they have a hard time finding clothes there lately, but we still go often for my younger:) Three cheers for sustainable(er) fashion!! And Mama Goose!!!

Fantastic store! I love that I can not only purchase used clothing and toys, but also sell my pre loved items to them! The staff is very knowledgable and we're luck to have Mama Goose!

I love the baby section! They have lots of onsies, sleepers, gowns, etc all neatly organized by age: preemie, newborn, 0-3 mo, 3-6mo, 6-9mo etc. Most clothing is like new & name brand.

I enjoy shopping and selling children’s items at Mama Goose. They have a wide variety of clothes, toys, and outdoor gear. Definitely one of the top places for me to get my growing child clothing.

Great store! I went to find a shirt for my son. The owner dropped what she was doing to help me and I got exactly what I needed at a great price. I’ve also sold things through the store in the past and they make it so easy. Definitely would give more than 5 stars if I could.

Mama goose is the best! The staff is friendly and helpful they have a great selection and good prices! The fact that I can get store credit for my used items is also such a benefit! Highly recommend

I'm a big fan of secondhand/consignment/resale shopping especially for children. Mama Goose is one of the best Childrens consignment stores I have been to. They do a great job with their buying- both quality and top brands are clearly a priority. I have sold a fair amount of my daughters clothing here and opt for store credit rather than cash- then I use the credit to buy whatever she's in need of- most recently dancewear and a rain jacket. Mama Goose carries new & used shoes, baby gear like strollers and cribs, seasonal clothing, gifts, maternity clothing as well as books and toys. I love this little shop and try to stop in every time I'm in Ithaca.

Such a great find for a first time mama here! Not only did they have a wonderful selection of top brand cribs, bassinets, swings, etc.....they also had wonderfully priced clothing for babies, toddlers and children. I even bought myself a bag of maternity clothing that I was able to try on in their fitting room(which is so hard to find in this area). I will be definitely be back!

Useful second hand kids items and friendly staff. We luckily found the riding boots we needed in the perfect size, however I wished the store was bigger and had a larger selection... but then again this is a small town so I shouldn't trip. I'll just count my lucky stars we scored.

Mama Goose really is as good as a children's consignment store gets. There's lots of room, places for kids to play, and tons of stuff to buy, used and new. They are very picky about the stuff they except, so you will only find high quality stuff on the racks. Everything is nicely organized, and there is something for everyone from pregnant mams all the way up to preteens.

For Ithaca, this is your best bet on used children's items, but I visited my hometown and had the absolute best experiences ever. I filled a large box with clothes and paid 20.00 to ship it home and, even adding shipping in, I still saved a ton of money compared to what I would have spent at Mama Goose. Those shops were all independently owned and still were able to make a profit by selling things at a fraction of what Mama Goose charges. We're going back to those stores in December to stock up again... The other thing I resent about Mama Goose is that they make buying a coat an 'event' that requires you to stand in a line that goes halfway around a block. Congrats on the marketing frenzy they create with that, but I will never line up like that for a used kid's coat, Come on. Just put the coats out like a normal store instead of creating a this crazy event for a coat.

I absolutely LOVE Mama Goose! I have always gotten a great price for the clothes I bring in to sell, and have never EVER walked out of there without purchasing amazing brand name clothes for a quarter of the price they sell for new. I owe at least half of my little girl's wardrobe to them, and even outfitted myself in their maternity clothes when I was pregnant. The only negative I can pin to them is that sometimes they're so busy when I bring in things to sell, that I have to wait a while. Usually this isn't a problem, because I love browsing the racks, but when I don't have much time, waiting a half hour or more before they even get to my bag of clothes can be daunting. Nevertheless, I've recommended Mama Goose to all the Mommies and Daddies I know.

The service is great. I feel they price too high for used clothing. Trader K's is cheaper!

The Mecca for everything kid related in Ithaca. Very well managed, extremely fair prices and they are careful to only buy only good condition, cute clothes. No junk cluttering up the shelves. They give good value on trade credit too. More than once I have gone in to Mama Goose looking for a very specific item- a high chair that clips to a table, a certain kid's book, size 6 girls winter boots, a cheap working baby monitor- and that exact item was there at the right price. They carry new kids shoes too, cute comfortable shoes that are not stiff plastic. Thank you Mama Goose, all mamas should be so lucky to have such an awesome store in there town!

I do not like shopping in second hand clothing store but Mama Goose is different. The merchandise is clean, and in excellent condition. They have clothing in all sizes and somehow maintain a variety of styles. I drive from Horseheads to shop at Mama Goose for my friends and family. The staff are so friendly and helpful. It is just the kind of store you feel good about from the time you go in until you leave.

got an awesome summer skirt for $3.50 that fit better than urbans too big overpriced poor quality crap! awesome prices good selection, friendly staff, needs more 10-16 skirts!

Pretty over priced. When you ask for something off because something is stained or whatever, it is a giant ordeal as no one can seem to do anything about it. Bad location always a hassle to get in and out espically with kids. Took so long to check out I came out and had a parking ticket (4 minutes over meter!). I've had it, off to better consignment stores for us.

I've gone to Mama Goose for over 7 years and have always had a great experience! We got our Ergo there when they first came out and they let us try it out several times in the store and helped us with it once our baby was born. Now we have three kids and Mama Goose is very child-friendly and welcoming to families. We have since moved to Massachusetts and haven't found anything close to Mama Goose! We come back to Ithaca a few times a year and try to get all our children's clothes shopping done while we're here: the store layout is easy to navigate, there are lovely local products for sale, and we always end up finding more than we were looking for! I wish every community had a Mama Goose!

I have to agree with other reviews.. I have shopped at Mother Goose on and off for many years. Just recently I stopped by the store to have a look and also to possibly sell some items. My first stop was at the back to drop of the items for view, filled out a form asking if I wanted cash or store credit and left them on the counter to look around and wait my turn. Approx 5 min later my bag was up for review. I approached the counter as the associate looked through my items. Among the items were a pair of Sketchers high top sneakers new with out tags. These were placed quickly under the counter as the other items were looked at. This was not the only new item in the bag some still had tags on them. The associate asked me if I wanted cash or store credit. I told her that I was not sure, what would be the amounts? She then told me quickly $3.24 for credit and $2.54 cash. I said i'm sorry could you please repeat that. She then again stated $3.24 credit and $2.54 cash. Then asked me which I wanted. Mind you I was in shock as to what I was just quoted and not to mention the obvious exasperation shown by the associate at my surprise. I in turn told her that I would like neither. That the sketchers alone were $65.00 sneakers and obviously I did not expect that but $3.24 for all was ridiculous and that I would be taking them with me. With major attitude she replaced my items in the bag. I was very offended and was tempted to walk out and never return. But I did not, due to the fact that I was waiting for a friend who had accompanied me. I walked around the store and found several items nwt and notice that the prices were $2 to $3 more than the original tag price. If they are going resell a new item with a tag than they should not sell it for more than then the original tag price. And then have the audacity to offer you a laughable purchase price so they in turn can make a 90% profit. And treat you rudely at the same time. Mama Goose use to be a friendly, fun store where you could go and be offered quality items at a good price.
