Mama Shelter Luxembourg

This hotel exceeded our expectations with its exceptional cartoon-themed design - playful, unique, and full of character. The location is excellent, with easy access and convenient parking. Our room was spacious, well-ventilated, and very comfortable. As pet owners, we were pleasantly surprised to find two bowls provided — thoughtful and much appreciated. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, and the breakfast was generous and delicious. Highly recommended for both families, couples, friend groups and pet-friendly travelers looking for something fun and functional.

Hotel looks great and is super clean and well decorated. Staff in the hotel were lovely but the hotel lacks some basics - there is nowhere to fill water bottles, no coffee and tea making facilities in the room and takeaway coffee is €6, restaurant menu is limited with an expensive bottomless brunch the only option until 4pm on Sundays and the pizza menu unavailable for our full stay. Service was really slow and tap water even for the kids was unavailable which was disappointing. It feels like a great hotel with a restaurant and bar more oriented to elite locals than hotel guests.

Underneath its cool design I found Mama’s Shelter a coldhearted hotel. My dog was charged 25 euros but got nothing in return: no dog bed, no water bowl, not a single dog biscuits… A good thing I brought a travel mat for my dog to sleep on because it’s clear that Mama dislikes pooches. I have only one good thing to say about this hotel: great breakfast offer with the best scrambled eggs I ever had. That’s it. All the rest: mèh!

I felt very good in this hotel. The choice of food at breakfast was varied, as a vegan I could choose, whether fruit, vegetables, pastries, jam... I also didn't miss anything in the room, it was cleaned every day, honestly. The entire staff was very nice and helpful. The availability of transport and the possibility of getting to the center or the airport were absolutely without problems. Nearby is a beautiful park, the walls, where you can relax or walk. You will also find the Dräi Eechelen Museum, which is free and closed on Mondays. I even found a forest path that I could use to get down to the city. A great hotel with an exceptional atmosphere! The beds were very comfortable, and the shower was fantastic. The location is also excellent – both downtown and the airport are easy and quick to reach. Would definitely stay again!

I stayed at Mama Shelter Luxembourg and while the hotel has its perks, there were a few things that left me disappointed. First, I was surprised to find no slippers in the room, which is typically a standard offering at most hotels. When I asked about it, the response was “please buy it,” which felt a bit off for a hotel of this caliber. The room itself was clean and well-maintained, which I appreciated. However, I would have liked to see complimentary bottled water in the room, as well as a liquid soap dispenser rather than the solid soap provided (including shampoo). It was a bit inconvenient for showering. On a positive note, the breakfast was fantastic! It was definitely the highlight of my stay – great selection, fresh, and tasty. Overall, while the breakfast was excellent and the room was nice, I think Mama Shelter Luxembourg could improve in terms of amenities and customer service for a more complete guest experience.

Loved the unique vibe of the hotel! The shower was top-notch, the bed super comfy, and the whole place had a special charm. Conveniently located with quick access to both the city center and the airport. Would happily return!
