Love almost everything about this hotel. Especially the fun mama theme. It's obvious good thought has gone into guest experience. Mama Shelter La Défense is a vibrant, trendy hotel that brings a playful energy to the corporate landscape of La Défense. It's a fantastic choice for those who appreciate unique design, a lively atmosphere, and excellent views. The bold colors and funky art make it feel more like a fun social hub. From the upper floors, you can get a spectacular panoramic view of Paris, including the Eiffel Tower. The rooms are both stylish and comfortable, featuring unique, playful designs. However, could do with pressing iron and an ironing board in the room. The hotel offers a nice culinary experience with its own kitchen, a panoramic restaurant, a 1950s-inspired diner, and a classic sports bar. Particularly enjoy the buffet breakfast complimented by the kitchen if you need someone offered in particular. The restaurant is also known for its lively entertainment, regularly hosting live music and DJ sets. Because of this the restaurant gets really busy which is great but really guest should not have to reserve to get a space.

I recently stayed at Mama Shelter La Défense Paris and unfortunately the experience fell far below expectations, especially as a ALL Platinum member. We arrived around 10 AM knowing early check-in isn’t guaranteed, which was fine. After breakfast we returned to see if the room was ready—still no. The receptionist assured us that by 1 PM the room would be available, so we waited in the lobby. At 1:15, a different employee told me the room was still not ready and “wouldn’t be for a while,” adding that the hotel was fully booked. I checked their booking system myself and saw all room types available. The moment I mentioned this, another staff member jumped in and suddenly our room was “ready.” The inconsistency was frustrating and did not feel transparent. Once in the room, there was no welcome amenity, only one towel(we are 2),and lukewarm water in the shower. When I reported this, I was told they “don’t do welcome amenities”—something that turned out to be untrue, as later in the evening a different employee was surprised we hadn’t received the fruit basket and handed it to us immediately. A second towel eventually arrived, and the water issue was fixed, but only after repeated follow-ups. Additionally, my “welcome drink voucher” was simply a note saying that the hotel had provided a bottle of water in the room—something I’ve never seen done that way. And despite higher room categories showing as available, no upgrade was offered. Overall, the hotel itself has potential, but the lack of consistency, unclear communication, and repeated follow-ups needed for basic services made the stay disappointing. I hope management addresses the service issues, because the experience did not reflect the standards expected at this level.

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was convenient for exploring the city. One highlight was definitely the breakfast — the croissants were absolutely amazing! Fresh, flaky, and warm every morning. I’d definitely stay here again.

the stay was okay; the room temperature was very, very warm at night. the 14th floor restaurant and sports bar were both closed one late afternoon; the breakfast buffet was nice. we dined in the 14th floor restaurant one night of our stay and admittedly it took forever to get our food. when we did get it, the food was good but the service was just okay.

Great hotel, room was clean and medium size. We had a partial view to the tower. There is an amazing view from the restaurant eating there is a must. It was 9 minutes walking from the metro station. I found it a great spot for my first Paris visit, as I could take the train to Versailles, metro to downtown and train to Disney. There is a grocery store and some restaurants minutes away walking.

Very good value for money. The hotel has a nice, modern design and the rooms are very cozy and clean. The view on the Eiffel Tower is spectacular. The only thing that wasn’t good was the organisation of the breakfast. A lot of things were already empty at 8am and it took the staff very long to refill them. Also there were a lot of tables with dirty dishes that weren’t cleaned up for quite a long time even though there was plenty of staff running around.

We stayed here for one night on a short city trip to Paris. I had stayed here before and enjoyed the experience. Great views of the city from the rooftop bar and restaurant. Cool and relaxed atmosphere, quiet. Located not too far from the metro lines.

The reason for my lower rating is because of the customer service. Yes, it’s a 3-star hotel, however, I’ve stayed in shabbier places with better service than here. The issue is the overall processes management seem to have in issue protocol and organisation overall. During my stay, I had broken my toe in my room having stubbed my toe on the very well camouflaged door stopper hidden by the black and white carpet, accompanied by a badly lit room. I get the aesthetic, but not having ample lighting is a hazard. There was also a leak in my room, which was described to me as condensation from my air conditioning. It did not stop at all and it soaked the carpet on the hallway of the room. Whenever I asked for help, bar one time that I asked for ice for my foot, I was told “I cannot help you, sorry” or similar along those lines. What frustrated me the most is that when I asked for help to get a taxi at 5am, I was met with another “Sorry, I cannot help, I don’t have our taxi app log in for the hotel. Try Uber.” I had told the night porter, “I have been trying for 20 mins, I can’t seem to get through, therefore asking you.” When I gave l feedback on how unsatisfactory the customer service was upon dropping my key at the desk, it was met with “It’s not my fault”. I agree, it’s not one person’s fault, it’s the Management’s processes in place to handle issues, complaints, and simple taxi booking services. You need to give your staff more training in issue triage and management, as well as writing down that taxi app log in details somewhere! I stress that rooms were clean, premises were clean, and the bed was comfy. The location was a mere 300m from the Metro (Esplanade de la Defense), near to Westfield Mall and convenient for anyone looking concert goers at the La Defense Arena. The only downfall here what has been said above. A huge shout out to Clement (I may be wrong) at the front desk for being so kind when I asked for ice. He was the only one that asked if I was okay and if he can call emergency services for me. When I told him that the swelling was bad, however, the pain was not as bad as the first day, he was still so kind. An extra shout out to the staff at the restaurant at the 14th floor for supplying me an extra large portion of ice that I was able to use it for a few hours!
