Mama Simona Ollantaytambo

We stayed at Mama Simona hostel for 3 night, booked after we read some good reviews. The moment we walked in Marianella made us feel welcomed, explained about everything and was very kind! She told us to not hesitate if we need anything. The rooms are clean and very cozy, the bathroom also in well maintained. We had cute breakfast included. The garden is so peaceful right by the river. Also the location is a few minutes walk from the main square To sum up, such a great hostel and we will be back!🌸

Mama Simona is the perfect stay in the area. The setting is beautiful, the owners very kind and friendly, it's super clean and comfortable and the price is very fair. It's well worth spending a few days here to enjoy their amazing garden with hummingbirds and the sites around Ollantaytambu. We spent 10 days in the Sacred Valley with chilly nights and their showers were the only ones we had with hot water every time, including more expensive hotels 🙏 Thanks for a great stay!

Fernando and Marianella were phenomenal and extremely knowledgeable during my stay. I was welcomed with open arms the first night and felt like part of the family. They were incredibly generous and I cannot thank them enough. The breakfast was light and I enjoyed the communal aspect of it. The common areas are entirely separate from the rooms but the best part- the kitchen!!! I will definitely come back to Peru if it means seeing them one last time. Give Diego and Julian all my love~

Perhaps the best hostel kitchen in the world. That’s not an exaggeration! I’ve seen a lot of hostel kitchens on all six of the (inhabited) continents and this one is in an entirely different league. Every aspect of the hostel is nice. Good birdwatching on the premises, beautiful river, very nice breakfast (that kitchen….) and charming touches all around. A true gem. To stay anywhere else in Ollantaytambo would be a mistake.

Would give them 6 if we could! This is the best hostel I've experienced so far. The location was perfect for us about 1/3 of a mile from the main square. This allows for peace and quiet, with easy walking access. The beds we're super comfy, and the river runs outside of the window, providing nice white noise. The water is dependably hot. The garden area was very nice to relax in. Our one complaint was received, asked about, and corrected in the course of our next few visits. Update : we've returned, and while Inquiring about availability the desk recognized us, asked about the negative aspect of our experience, and apologized. This made us feel even better about this establishment. Please patronize them! We're already planning our next chance to stay here.

Very nice hostel. Beds were very comfortable. Showers actually got hot water and good pressure. The back outdoor area is very pretty. There is a river right behind it and they have hammocks. Breakfast was very good and employees were very helpful. Wifi was okay but it is hard to find anything better.

Mama Simona is the best hostel I have stayed in whilst in Peru! The owners are really friendly and made us breakfast. The area it is located is perfect for being surrounded by nature as well as being only 800m from the town square. If I ever come back this direction I would definitely stay again!

Beautiful Hostel, run by a beautiful and honest couple who are very welcoming. The facilities are excellent and the beds were warm and cosy. The Hostel’s location is quiet and secure and has a lovely garden. I find it difficult to find a flaw.
