Mama Sofia

Had a great meal here for my birthday, excellent hosts and great food! We had a range of starters including oysters and some mIns plus a few drinks and it was a good price. They even sang me happy birthday and threw in a dessert 😂

Visiting from the UK. We stopped off for some lunch and we always try to have a seafood lunch at least once on our trips. We had the sea food platter for 2 which was on offer and we were not disappointed. The food was cooked to perfection. The fish was fresh and the staff and atmosphere were amazing. I would definitely recommend a stop off here when you’re in Rhodes Old Town.

The best restaurant in Rhodes. From the minute we walked in, we felt like we were home. My husband and I came here during our honeymoon and had the best experience. The owner, Stavros, greeted us so warmly and made sure to make our evening very special. He even congratulated us in front of all the diners with a kind bottle of Prosecco. The service is excellent and the food just as incredible. We ordered the mixed grill for 2 which was a generous and delicious portion. You must visit this if in Rhodes.

All round a very good restaurant, we was recommended it as we have had some bad experiences in the old town and it didn't fail us. Friendly funny staff and food was out fairly quickly, which was impressive as the places was packed. It's not Michelin star food it's just good honest tasty food which isn't expensive. When we got there the front seating was full and we was led through to a red painted walled courtyard in the back which was very nice and by the end of the meal that was full so obviously it has a good reputation.

Another great visit at mama Sofia's. From our visit last year, we had to return. A warm friendly family welcome made to feel at home. A great selection of food and great a fantastic old town location to watch the world go by. The courtyard is an amazing place, ask for a table here for an intimate dining experience.

My partner and I wanted a real authentic Greek dinner and Mama Sofia definitely provided that! Wonder staff very friendly and caring. Food was amazing would highly recommend this place for a perfect dinner.

I had dinner tonight at Mama Sofia and it was such a wonderful experience! The staff is so nice and attentive, the atmosphere is warm and you feel the most welcomed. I have celiac disease and I was looking for a place to have dinner in Rhodes - I was not disappointed to say the least. The whole menu - aside from 4 dishes in the entire menu - is gluten free or can be made gluten free. Moussaka was delicious, the lamb pita gyros so tender and juicy. I even found gluten free beer! First time in Greece ever. I truly recommend eating here, even if you are not GF since the food is really good, but if you are it’s truly an amazing experience and you are going to feel safe here.

After queuing for a few minutes for the table, not unexpected as it was peak holiday season, got a table outdoors. Friendly staff, good service, large portion sizes - however, the food was quite average, found it was lacking a flavour - they offered the spicy sauce (without asking) which made a small difference. The cocktail was very very sweet, we asked for a few lime/lemons to tone it down (but they forgot) which never arrived.
