Roast Beef sandwich was amazing! Must try. Ordered the ravioli sampler and the pizza flavor was our favorite. Raviolis are small - snack size. Not much to fill you up. Kind of pricey

This review might cause some people to call me a variety of names, but it’s the experience I had, so deal with it. My order: $29.00 (includes small gratuity) Toasted ravioli Italian beef sandwich Chips Slice of cheesecake This was a rather expensive lunch and hardly worth it. I’m not sure why the T-ravs are so highly regarded. I thought they lacked in flavor and the meat sauce was kind of the same. Nothing really impressive about them. I’m also not really a fan of how soft or soggy they felt. I like some crunch and these definitely did not crunch. The sandwich was good but the amount of toppings that were given were hardly noticeable. Obviously the cheesecake is not made in house and had a bit of a refrigerator taste. I had been there once before but likely will have to scratch these guys off my list.

Found this via a Google search for toasted cheese raviolis in STL. We are road-tripping through Missouri so we HAD to get a local specialty. Definitely stop in here! The Hill is such a quaint area with so many options and there is nothing better than supporting a small business. The staff is so awesome!! We tried the eggplant parm sandwich and the ricotta/spinach ravioli. Absolutely yummy! No seating inside so hope for good weather and open spot outside. We went around 3 pm so it wasn't busy. Highly recommend Mama Toscanos if you're in St. Louis!

Our first visit to St Louis we wanted to try some local flavor. Mama Toscanos was recommended. We were not disappointed. We chose the variety of all three t-ravs. All delicious but pizza being our favorite. It's a small little restaurant with seating out front. Everyone was super nice and despite being slammed for lunch they were very quick! We opted to take our food up the street to the park to enjoy a picnic.

With a little effort this place could easily have been a five star. I didn't mind that there was no indoor seating. There are four concrete tables outside. No umbrellas like they show in their picture but it is an attempt to accommodate. But the place was really dirty. Years and years of dirty. And placing our order was confusing. There were no "order here" signs and no one said anything to us. There is a printed menu on the counter where you check out but that's not where you order. You go to the back where the cooks are to order. We stood around awkwardly until another customer, who had obviously been there before, came in and placed their order and the girls running the place didn't say anything about the fact we were there before, they just took the other customers order like we weren't there. I should mention the inside is tiny and there were two guys waiting on their order and me and my daughter with two girls cooking and running the register. We got two different kinds of toasted ravioli and both were the best we've ever had! 5 stars for sure on the ravioli. They were crispy, tasted home made and the dipping sauce was amazing as well! The garlic cheese bread was.... OK. Garlic butter with barely melted sliced cheese on it. If I go back, it will be for the frozen ravioli and some sauce in their self serve refrigerators and cook it at home. It's worth a trip back but the place needs cleaned up and the staff needs some customer communication skills.

Absolutely best ravioli I've ever had. The service was great, and the food was great. If only I didn't live so far I'd come here all the time. Although I do wish their location would've been more spacious. Overall loved it though.

The hill is by far one of the best neighborhoods in all of St Louis if you are looking for a close-knit community feel and a range of delicious restaurants that are always fresh! Surprisingly, as long as I have lived on the hill I have never been to this establishment. Not affecting the rating, but it is worth pointing out, is that there are no tables or chairs on the inside for dining. Like most places in the neighborhood everyone was extremely friendly and they make it such a pleasant experience. A review is for the purpose I've given a first-hand account of the experience. I got a 7-inch veggie sandwich and a soft drink. perhaps my expectations were too high, but considering bread on the hill is always fresh no matter where you go, I certainly had at least one or two day old bread because not only was it not fresh, it was borderline stale. Anytime I have purchased a sandwich from other restaurants, there is an abundance of items and plenty of cheese to tie it all together. This sandwich was pretty skimpy with most ingredients and all in all at the end of eating I could only think about going to one of the other sandwich places instead on the next visit. It is tough to leave a 3-star review because that is not what draws a consumer in and I always want to support our local businesses. This was my experience and the next sandwich I buy will most likely be from somewhere else in the neighborhood.

Absolutely delicious. Got the original toasted ravioli. So tasty. The meatball sub was fantastic as well. Look. Is it heavy food? Yes. Is it going to weigh you down? Sure. Is it absolutely worth it? Yes. Definitely. I would ear here. Also the people are friendly and fun.went at a weird time so not sure how crowded it usually is and there is no seating. Beside a couple of outdoor tables. But. Yum. Go here.
