Alright, let me just say it: Mama Wong’s hit the spot.
I went to Bassac Lane especially to try Mama Wong's. Safe to say—it did not disappoint.
I went straight for the dumplings—beef and shrimp. No games. Honestly? Some of the best I’ve had in Cambodia. The skins were soft but held together, and the fillings were legit flavorful. Not oily, not bland—just straight-up tasty. You could tell they weren’t rushed.
The place has this laid-back, cozy vibe. It’s not fancy or trying too hard, which I love. Indoors is air-conditioned (bless), but if you sit outside, you get that chill Bassac Lane energy. Music’s good, staff are actually friendly—not the fake kind. They’ll chat if you want or leave you be.
Honestly, if you’re in Phnom Penh and not eating at Mama Wong’s at least once, you’re missing out. It’s not some overhyped Instagram spot—it’s just solid, well-made food with flavor that slaps.
