The place felt so cozy and welcoming. I absolutely loved the charming interior, and the food was super tasty! The crab cakes and New York steak were my favorites. Thank you for such a lovely evening! The prices are a bit on the higher side, but the cozy atmosphere and delicious food made it totally worth it!

Nice selection of seafood. Everything was well prepared. The bread pudding was unexpectedly very good. Not soggy at all. Nice atmosphere. Definitely get reservations. Only downside was that they don't have espresso. Had to settle for coffee. You would think a place like this would have that option. Also only one non-alcohol beer available when requested by one in our party.

Came in for restaurant week with my friend, our server VJ made sure we had a wonderful experience. He made an excellent drink recommendation of the mango-melon crush. Food was 10/10 in presentation and taste, i will definitely be back.

If you're craving amazing seafood, Mama’s on the Half Shell in Owings Mills is the place to go! My husband had the Oysters Casino and Seafood Platter—both fresh and flavorful. I ordered the Chesapeake Cobb Salad, and the lump crab meat was perfection. The light vinaigrette complemented it beautifully, and my side lobster tail was cooked just right—tender and buttery. The service was phenomenal, making the entire experience even better. We can’t wait to go back!

Out for another after 8 dinner, I came to Mama's, who say they close at 10. So true to their word. I started off with wings, plentiful and hot, and no disappointment here. Before I finished my wings, the bartender gave me the last call for food and drinks, huh, 915 pm. I ordered the md. Rockfish crab imperial topped served in a beurre blanc sauce with green beans and rice pilaf. The crab rock and sauce were excellent. The rice pilaf had excellent flavor , except it was just lukewarm ,which was better than the uncooked green beans. Although being given my check at 930 right after i got my entree was a suprise. The other suprise was the 18% gratuity they added to the check and didnt mention for dining after 8. What is that about. Overall, is it worth it ehhhh.

This gesture was greatly appreciated and demonstrated excellent customer service. Despite the slight hiccup at the beginning, the rest of our experience was flawless. I’ve been to Mamma’s on the Half Shell in Owings Mills a few times and while the food is generally good and consistent, the service leaves much to be desired — especially at the bar. During my recent visit, I was extremely disappointed with the service provided by a bartender named Kendall. He was inattentive, rarely checked in, and seemed far more focused on personal conversations with staff or his phone than on the customers. At one point, he was openly discussing personal matters — including explicit content and alternative lifestyle topics — that were simply inappropriate for a public dining setting. It made for a very uncomfortable dining experience. Beyond that, Kendall didn’t offer to remove menus, didn’t follow up for additional drinks, and was generally disengaged from providing even basic hospitality. It felt more like fast food drive-thru service than the upscale dining experience that the restaurant’s branding and pricing suggest. This kind of unprofessional behavior shouldn’t be the standard for a restaurant aiming to offer a quality experience. I hope management takes steps to address this, as the food and atmosphere deserve a front-of-house staff that reflects the same level of quality.

I have noticed that the reviews from other Yelpers, let alone Yelp Elite have quite similar reviews- the food is very good, the ambiance is great and the service is stellar. I would have to agree with all three. We had a little bit of every food category that they offer and all of the choices were delicious. I will say that if I return in the winter, I would have to reserve one of the few tables by the fireplace. This restaurant fits the bill for large parties, an intimate night out, or just a place to enjoy good eats and watch a game.

I was looking for a spot to watch the NFL playoffs that lowland be too crowded on a Sunday evening and Mamma's fit the bill. Cam in and there were plenty of open seats in the bar area. They have several TVs that had the game on so it was perfect. The only drawback was that they didn't have the TV sound up and were playing music for the entire restaurant. I ordered the crab egg rolls. I always get them and they have always been great. They are light and crispy with a generous amount of crab meat inside. Washed it down with a Stella then had an Old Fashioned to finish my night off. I am definitely a fan but they are not cheap.

Our server was phenomenal, she provided recommendations, made sure our drinks were filled, checked on us, etc. Food-Honey Old Bay Wings, Crab Cake Egg Rolls and Fries The star of the experience and the reason I've been wanting to try this restaurant. They were good, crispy, and flaky on the outside and small lumps of crab on the inside. The aioli sauce was served on the side, which I appreciate because I am a dipper. French Fries-They were good, typical french fries, nothing special. Honey Old Bay: The wings were delicious, fried to perfection, and the sauce from a true Bmore girl did not disappoint. I would go back for some. Ambiance- Perfect setting for a date, girls' night, etc. Also, currently fully decorated for Christmas and looks beautiful Parking- Plenty of free parking on the lot

I was actually surprised how pretty good the pasta was. I came here with my friend on a cold day so I ordered the chicken and shrimp Alfredo since I was starving. I actually finished the whole plate. The service was good. The gentleman who waited on us had a positive attitude and very attentive. The ambience was nice, the restaurant had a fire place and an upstairs. The only thing I'd critique is the chicken. It was well done but lacked flavor. And also it would be nice for the restaurant to offer complimentary bread given the priciness.

First time visit. Many things about this spot remind me of the Canton location. Even better, this spot is much more spacious than Canton Square. Went for lunch with a friend. Lexie was our server. She was friendly, courteous and professional. My friend recommended the seafood chowder as an appetizer. We both ordered it. Thick, hearty, smoky, loaded with "frutti di mare" and very tasty! I hated to finish it and wanted more, more, more... We both decided on the crab cake sandwich platter with fries. These cakes were loaded with lump and jumbo lump crab meat with very little filler. Impressive! Tasty! I don't know how large those cakes are; I'm thinking 6 to 8 ounces. Presentation was appealing. Food and service exceptional. Location great with appeal to the diverse local demographic. This wasn't a cheap meal but definitely a delicious and memorable one. Recommend!

Hey friends, finally made our way to the new local restaurant. It was jammed packed with large events, but we were blessed to get a cozy high top by the window! Hubby ordered the Shrimp PoBoy. It was delicious and the shrimp were large and flavorful. However, the sandwich needs a larger roll!!! It was like a hotdog roll. I had the Seafood Club and it was delicious. Although, I was disappointed that my tomatoes weren't ripe. They were hard and green. The service was standard, and more waiters were needed for sure. But we certainly enjoyed our time and will return! Oh, the cream of crab soup was hearty and delicious too!

A great place to get some raw oysters... the rest of the food is hit or miss. I enjoyed my salad, but my old bay wings were extra salty... almost like salt was add to the old bay seasoning. We really liked the restaurant as a whole. A lot of space, seems like a place that could hold a large party. And the bar seems like a chill place to hang and watch a game. The service was really good, which was made the meal (for the most part) worth it.

Way different than the downtown location, loved the visit nonetheless. Actually, I enjoyed the cocktails way better here. Downtown I stick with liquor and soda or tonic, cocktails always failed me there. At this location, I told the bartender I like gin and lavender, that's it! A few minutes later I'm sipping on a cute gin cocktail with a purple flower, lavender flavored :) For food we shared mussels and salmon BLT. Similar in flavor as the original locations no reason not for me to return!!

Wow, this restaurant was the best surprise! Amazing, high quality seafood, huge menu selection, and great service. Definitely more of an upscale vibe than we were expecting. The special of the month was a lobster pizza and it was incredible. The half/half Maryland cream of crab soup is almost a must and do not pass up on the dollar oysters for happy hour!

Mamas on the half shell was cool. The bar treated me well while I waited for my table. Parking was cool. Service was amazing. My family was super late and they were really great about it. The restaurant is dope and seems like a great place to watch a game. The food was cool. It wasn't bad but I wouldn't rant and rave about it. I would go back but probably stick to happy hour. The wings and drinks were good.

Gabe was so accommodating! He was super personable and very informative with the different kinds of oysters. I'm a newbie to eating raw oysters but he was super nice and led me to try the Delaware Bay which was super plump and the horseradish sauce with cocktail sauce was amazing. The aesthetic was also very crisp, and alluring, will definitely be back!

EPIC Maryland seafood at Mama's on the Half Shell!! - Absolutely upgrade your cream of crab soup to include a fried soft shell crab - Balance it off with the Eastern Shore Cobb salad that has a generous portion of lump crab meat Service was super quick & friendly for lunch for 1 in the bar area. Lots of TV's if folks want the sports bar vibe, but also outside patio now that the weathers warming up!

I took my mom and my dad here for their 20th anniversary. Not only was the service amazing but the food was impeccable! The oysters are nice and fresh. The management is excellent, especially Jesse! He is always so kind. Highly recommend Mama's on the half shell if you are looking for exceptional food for a decent price.

12'27'2023 Visited w Sis before going to see The Color Purple. We were able to walk in and sit at the bar. We were greeted right away. We order 2 Salmon BLT Sandwiches. The kitchen was quite slow. We waited 30 minutes. The food did not disappoint when it arrived. I requested a Hot Toddy. Unfortunately, our bar tender was unable to make it. We stuck w water. Overall, a pretty good visit. Attractive atmosphere, kind staff and tasty food. I'll return in the future w hopes of a faster table delivery of food.

Came to lunch with my mom and daughter. Love the decor and very comfortable chairs. Very friendly staff. We were seated right away. However, we awhile before having to ask who our server was. Overall it is a pretty good menu. We had just missed brunch which ended at 3. Maryland crab soup which I forgot to take a pic of was meaty and very flavorful. Bread is actually an extra charge but hot and toasty. Ask for the bread! Food was good and portions generous. Will definitely be back!

This is an upgrade to the previous restaurant that occupied this location. Lots of seafood-inspired menu items keeping with the theme of the restaurant name. I love the amount of space inside. The upstairs was a nice touch. On a Saturday @7pm our wait time was only about 15-20 minutes and we were seated quickly. It was packed, so often hard to track down the waitstaff but the food arrived to our table within a reasonable timeframe. We opted for drinks and appetizers (honey old bay wings and crab cake eggrolls not pictured). All of the food was pretty good. The crab dip bread bowl was interesting. The dip itself was a bit bland but enough for 2 people to share. I found myself tearing away at the bowl throughout the meal. The drinks were heavy pours. The wings were crispy. The eggrolls left much to be desired. I'd return for happy hour for sure!

Nice ambiance, the soup and both grilled and fresh oysters were delicious. However, the entrees were a bit disappointing. The scampi sauce was very thick and the bouillabaisse was very salty. Both does have a good portion size, the bouillabaisse had lots of seafood.

While I enjoyed spending time with friends at the Mama's on the Half Shell in Owings Mills, the experience left much to be desired. We went for Sunday brunch, and unfortunately, the food took an exceptionally long time to arrive--an hour wait, which was far from ideal. To top it off, my crab sandwich was cold when it finally came out. The manager was apologetic, which I appreciated, and I'm willing to give this location another try in the future. However, waiting that long for food was frustrating. I've always had great vibes at the Canton location, so hopefully, this was just an off day for the Owings Mills location.

The new location is great, it's different from what you're used to at the Canton location, but just as nice. It's super clean inside and has a great vibe that makes you feel welcome right away. The service? Top-notch. They really take care of you from the moment you walk in until you leave, making sure everything's just right. Now, onto the food. If you're a fan of seafood, you're in for a treat. I've been getting their seafood club for ages, and it never lets me down. Plus, the cucumber lemonade and crab dip? Absolutely delicious. And guess what? Parking's easy, so you don't have to stress about finding a spot. Overall, I can't wait to come back and try more dishes at this awesome new location.

We came in for an early dinner on a Friday night and there was not a wait. Anytime after 5:30 there will definitely be a wait. I ordered the grapefruit crush and it was delicious. The ambience was great as we were seated by the bar. Our food was hot and delicious. I definitely want to come back and try some other menu items.

When it comes to anything crab in the DMV area, Maryland has the crown! That crab dip was delicious, and wings too, but I was tearing up that crab dip, and going back The service was good and I really liked the vibe and you can watch the game!! Feeling it!

The food and drink are amazing, I had one of the items on their special menu - lobster risotto and it's very flavorful! We went during a busy dinner time and the service is nice! Kudos to the interior designer who had a great taste and eye that tailors to every detail of the ambiance.

Made reservations @ 5:00pm. My husband and I arrived @ 4:48pm. Walked in to see an older woman dressed in all black who ignored us to have a conversation. Acknowledged us AFTER she decided to finish. After being seated, we were told all about a menu that did not (in her words) "pertain to us"! We waited 25 minutes, no one came to serve us! As we were leaving, we observed a group of servers playing around. WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN! CUSTOMER SERVICE IS EVERYTHING....DO BETTER OR FIND SOMETHING THAT YOU'RE ACTUALLY GOOD AT!!!!!

Finally visited the OW location a few weeks back. They had a snow day promotion with $1 oysters and 1/2 priced soup so I figure that would be a good time to give them a try. They did a really good job with renovating the space as it looks much different from the previous restaurant's layout. Parking is provided as it's located in a shopping center which is a plus. There's currently no happy hour which I hope changes once the weather warms up as this would be a nice spot to dine and sip while it's nice outside. They oysters I had were delicious and the cream of crab soup was amazing! Great flavor and the lump crab just melted with each spoonful I took. Service was cool as the bar was becoming busy but I was able to pay my tab and head out with no issue. Looking forward to visiting again!

We had a great time here! It reminds me exactly of the one downtown- except it's a lot more spacious! I'm so glad to have another spot to eat. The service was great and the food came out super quickly. For me, the fact that it's right near wegmans is an added bonus because it means I can grab some groceries before heading home after date night. Their food is pretty good! We had the potato skins with seafood salad as an appetizer. It definitely was a little on the mayo/creamy side for my taste, but I think I that's what I signed up for. I had a Caesar salad with blackened salmon for dinner and it was perfectly cooked. I'll definitely be back to try some cocktails and some more food.

The cocktails were delicious - but not served with the garnish indicated in the menu description. The ambiance is nice. The service is hit/miss depending on the waiter. I hardly saw my server, however the server of a couple of tables close to me seemed to be good. The food is also okay. For example, the flavor of the seafood chowder was good but it was room temperature and because my server was never around, I could not get her to have it heated up or ask for black pepper. Overall, I would eat there again. BUT, only if asked..not on my suggestion.

Went on Thursday night with friends who were visiting the area. It was 4 of us and we had an awesome time catching up. Ambiance was great, the food was delicious, martinis perfect. Our waitress, Isis, was incredibly wonderful, very attentive and helpful and professional. She was top notch 5 stars for her! My only complaint was that Mama's automatically added a 18% tip on the bill (we left more) and an "admin fee" of $7.24. Just crummy business practice from Mama's. I can see if we were a big party of 6 or more, but it was 7:00 on a Thursday night with 4 people for dinner. This alone will keep me from coming back to this location. Truly disappointing and borderline unethical.

Meh. Seafood was somewhat bland and a bit disappointing- but certainly not horrible. Maryland crab soup was hearty, but lacking in spice or flavor. It's like they've never heard of Old Bay. Shame. Scallops were seared nicely, but again lacked seasoning or flavor. The mushroom ragu underneath was decent, but way too much butter in the sauce. Average meal and 3 stars is right on point.

The crab egg rolls are amazing!!! Had to get three orders and one to take home. The stuffed rockfish is full of crab meat. For dessert I finished with bread pudding which is also decadent and without raisins. Our service was so attentive and knowledgeable about the food.

Seafood was most definitely fresh and well prepared. The had on the first floor near the front door. Very cold as people come in and out. Servers were quick and attentive to our needs. I'm a born and raised Maryland boy worked at Phillips crabhouse for a few years been in California for the last 47, whenever I get back to Maryland, I'll be sure to have crabcakes, softshell crab and crab soup and I'm here to tell you that mamas on the half shell makes an awesome and one of the best crabcakes I've ever had. The food was good and plentiful but an EPIC FAIL for celebrating my husband's 75th birthday. Not only did I state we were celebrating a milestone birthday in the comments when I made the reservation, I also stopped in the day before and spoke to the manager, Troy, who assured me they would bring out a slice of Limoncello cake to surprise him. Even the host tonight asked me if it was a special occasion right in front of my husband (ruining the surprise) so I said be sure to let our waiter know it was his birthday. Three strikes you're out...the waiter asked if we wanted the check so I had to say "it's my husband's birthday", which he obviously didn't know (thanks manger and host for not following through) and said he'd bring out a slice of cake. After about 10 minutes he stopped by our now completely cleared table and said, "did someone bring out the cake?"...did he think we ate the plate and silverware along with the cake?! A few minutes later someone else set the cake slice down. On the way out the host wished my husband a happy birthday so we thanked him but told him that Brooks, our waiter, had no idea. C'mon Mama's for $120 check for 2 people you could have done much better for a birthday surprise, especially since you weren't very crowded.

I was SO excited to see this restaurant opening a spot in Owings Mills, primarily because my experience in the Baltimore was so favorable. Unfortunately, this was my first and last time patronizing this spot. The crab egg rolls were a bit dried out and small (2 for $20 was kinda high). My friend took one sip of the cream of crab soup and didn't enjoy it at all. The manager came to the table and said that while it was not the standard to remove items from the tan, he would do so. As a result, we stayed and ordered more drinks and food. When it was time to pay for our tab, the $9.00 for the soup was still on it. We asked again to speak to the manager, who stayed he never said he'd take the charge off. Had we known the charge would be removed, we would have settled our tan and left. My Son wanted to come here after his Grandmother raved about how good the Food was. This is his first time dining here. My Husband and I dinned at their original location in Fells Point twice. I heard they were coming to the area and was excited because it's closer to my Home. We came for an early Dinner and they weren't too busy. The Hostess was on her Cell when we came in, she hung up and asked us how many which was four of us. It wasn't exactly a warm greeting that I thought we should have gotten. She nonchalantly sat us then left. We sat for about five minutes until our Server Brenda S. greeted us, she was polite. We ordered some Appetizers, Crab EggRolls which was bland under seasoned and the Crabmeat tasted like Special Crabmeat, the Crab Dip same under seasoned and hardly no crabmeat in it, the Fried Calamari was fine. I got the Single Crabcake with Whipped Mashed Potatoes and Spinach. Again the Crabcake was bland and no Lump Crabmeat what's so ever, I've gotten the Crab Cake at their Downtown location and it was meaty and delicious. We were very disappointed in the Food, that everything tasted bland. They need to step their game up because this food was not cheap. But our Server Brenda S. was attentive and kept our Drinks refilled. I did like the layout of the Restaurant, they have an upstairs dining area and I like that it's plenty of free parking and that's the downside of their other Restaurant Downtown. I may return, but no time soon until they get all the kinks out since it's fairly new.

Omg the seafood club was hugeeee. I enjoyed every bit. The restaurant has a very elegant look. Great atmosphere located in a busy shopping center that has everything you need and more.

I've been here a couple of times, and I have also been to the original in Canton. Food is decent, nothing is bad but nothing is really good either. Menu has all the common items for an America seafood restaurant. Overall, the food gets a 4 they do the basics fairly well, but for the price, I expect something a little better. Service is decent, and the ambiance is nice.

What can I say. Awesome, awesome and awesome. Our server was so great and friendly. Also very knowledgeable about the menu. I forgot her name but every time I've been there, she was there and she always has an amazing vibe to her. Everyone that works there is friendly and helpful. I came here for happy hour and also for brunch. Happy hour is great. The bar on the first floor is kind of small but don't despair they have an upstairs bar area too! The brunch was great. I had the eggs Benedict which was so good. It's an aesthetically pleasing restaurant. I would definitely go back here and the next time I go and my server is there, I will make sure I get her name and give her a proper shoutout! Go now!

This restaurant opened up just a few months ago and I think they're still trying to iron out some of the kinks. First, I was part of a party of 9 so I made a reservation by CALLING the restaurant. The restaurant called me no less than 5 times to try to confirm my reservation and not once during any of those 5 calls did anyone explain any type of seating policy. So, imagine my surprise, when 2 of us arrived on time and they say we can't be seated until the majority of our party arrives, and that there is a 15 minute grace period. They stated that after 15 minutes if the rest of our party wasn't there they would seat us, but the other members of our party would be considered walk-ins (still never got any clarity on what that means). Not sure why in all of those touch points and NO ONE told me anything about the policy for large parties. Our waiter, Jonathan was amazing. The cocktails were OK. The food left a lot to be desired. One person ordered hot coffee and it arrived cold. A couple entrées were under seasoned, overcooked, too much breading, etc.. I'll try again this summer, not giving up. I've been to the other location and had a great experience.

I came here again because the 1st time i enjoyed the starter, Scallops and Potatoe Pancakes. BUT this time after 1 bite I realized it was NOT the same. The Pancake was undercooked. The Scallops were discolored / weird textured. To add insult I was told I had to speak with the manager to ensure I wasn't charged for food I took 1 bite of. So I did. It just made the meal more distasteful. I ate my dinner, mediocre stuffed lobster and went home knowing that was my last visit. They don't even have Happy Hour.

Friday night I decided on stopping at the local Mama's on the Halfshell in OM for a quick bite and drink, and I must say... the service and food were exceptional. My bartender Megan was as personable and attentive as ever, and my food came out just in time for another round and great conversation. Can't wait to stop by again sometime this summer.

Cute vibe, good service & plenty of parking. For a drink I got the cucumber lemonade crush which was pretty good, light. For my entree, I ordered the single crab cake, it comes with two sides...the crab cake was good & the sides were fine but the spinach isn't your typical creamed spinach, it was just regular sautéed. The desserts were OK, can skip.

The place from the outside is inviting as well as the decor inside. I came in around 530-6pm on a Saturday and took a seat at the bar. I waited a good ten minutes before I was even acknowledged. The bartender asked if I would like a water, I said yes and he quickly forgot and didn't get back to me for another ten minutes. I ordered the Foundry Cuban which was quite good. I then ordered the crab cake egg rolls and the "jumbo" buffalo wings. The crab cake egg rolls were $20. They were quite good along with the sauce they come with but I wish the egg roll was crispier. I would not order the wings that cost $18.50. They aren't "jumbo" in my opinion and regardless they aren't worth the price point. I also ordered a regular old fashioned which was prepared quite well and a Coors. I had to ask twice for the Coors and had to ask again for water. This is a newer establishment so many they just need to work out the links but the service was sub par. Great drinks. Again, I didn't eat too much of the food but I would stay away from the wings.

Service and ambiance was cool. It's an average spot. The food and service was average. This was my second time here. The first time I sat at the bar. If you like oysters, the bar is a good spot to sit. There's an oyster bar.
