MAMBO ITALIA LAVINGTON

Lovely food, but an odd and uncomfortable experience with the management/supervisor. I visited Mambo Italia Lavington recently for a casual date night. We ordered two pizzas, enjoyed our meal, and I had a glass of white wine with dinner, while my date had a beer. As the evening progressed, I decided to have a cocktail to finish off the night after our meal — especially since it was happy hour and there was a good offer on the margaritas. Unfortunately, what should’ve been a relaxed and enjoyable evening took a strange turn. As I was sipping on my cocktail, the floor manager came over to our table and commented — rather bluntly — that she just wanted to see “who this was” that managed to have wine and then cocktails. She said she was surprised, adding that she had "never seen this before" at their restaurant. This went on and on for an uncomfortable amount of time. I was honestly taken aback. It felt unnecessary and a little embarrassing, especially since we were just enjoying our evening quietly and hadn’t done anything to warrant attention. It’s not unusual to have wine with dinner and a cocktail afterward — and certainly not something that should draw commentary from management. The food was great and the ambiance lovely, but that moment left me feeling uncomfortable, profiled, judged, and unwelcome. It was incredibly embarrasing, especially as I was on a date. It really killed the vibe of the evening, and we just left after that. A more thoughtful and respectful approach to customer interactions would make a big difference.

I had my senses well and truly tickled by the desserts here. They were that good! I especially recommend the orange and almond cake as well as the fudge brownie (served a la mode). Absolutely delectable! The restaurant is on the 2nd floor and you can choose to sit on the terrace or indoors , where you still have an almost panoramic view of the city (including the parking lot downstairs). The decor makes for great instagram-friendly shots and the exposed wooden beams and lampshade pendant lighting in the bar give a unique feel to the space. Good food, good service, good decor. 👍🏿

Another great location for lunch. Rapid service and great salads among other food. The penne that someone else at the table had was amazing and everyone left with a smile on their face. Quite a big space on the second floor of the Lavington Curve Mall so for big parties this might be a good option.

I love this place because my daughter is especially shy and it has a play area on the roof top. It's not popular during the weekdays but that's the best time to go if you ask me.

I had a lovely time at Mambo Italia where Nairobi meets Italy with it's good food and drink options. You've got a choice of making your own pizza as well. There's ample space for kids to play as well so it's good for a nice family hangout. The service was quick and tailored, you can get food recommended your way. I would recommend the ice-cream with a brownie. It's a bit breezy in the evening so a sweater would be good.

Amazing place with a beautiful rooftop view of the usual Nairobi traffic madness! They have a kid’s play arcade on the rooftop (yea i know crazy) but perfectly safe. They have craft beer that comes with long intimidating glasses but we’ll still drink!! Pretty chilled out less noise & more fun.

We visited this place on Saturday during Easter holiday and I was pleasantly surprised how empty it was for the superb food and service they provide. We ordered BBQ Pork Ribs and Fillet Steak for the main course, and a few drinks: Passion Margarita (for my gf) and the Amarena Jack for me. Both food and drinks were amazing. So I highly recommend this place! We will definitely be back. BTW, passion margarita was served with sugar instead of salt, which my gf liked a lot. PS. I would probably try their pizza next time (for being an Italian restaurant.)

Beautiful place good for friends meet up meetings, couples and children too..I loved the ambience the pizzas were on point and the cocktails were amazing! though the service needs to improve we waited long to be served even though there were very few guests at the time.
