Delicious food, amazing service, a warm and friendly atmosphere and great value for money. Everything you want in a restaurant. This restaurant is in a wonderful location. A vibrant street full of character. We got there after their 3pm closing and they still accomodated us. I am so happy we found this place before we left Lisbon.

This place felt so underrated for the quality of food and service they provided. I would say this was one of the better meals I had during my trip in Lisbon. The service was warm and welcoming. The food was delicious and so was the drink. After a long day of city exploring this was the perfect meal!

Wow! Immediately when we were greeted, I could feel that this was a different type of restaurant experience. This place was about more than a place to eat, it was such a friendly and welcoming exchange, we felt like being welcomed to someone’s home. That being said, the food was also incredible. Each dish was cooked with love and care and culture. On top of that, we sat outside and the street the restaurant is on “green street” is the coziest little block, with great greenery and very welcoming vibes as well, with all small little businesses. We tried a mix of different dishes with the intention of sharing and trying everything. I think our favorites were the Chicken Yassa and the Djambo, but they were all great. Sharing the Yassa was almost a little difficult even because as soon as I tried cutting into the chicken it just immediately fell apart and off the bone, that’s how deliciously tender it was. Favorite restaurant in Lisbon! We went as a group of four which was lovely, but I think it’s also great for solo because it’s so welcoming and you can just have nice conversation with the people that work there or other guests.

Came here at the end of the “African Lisbon Tour” (incredible tour, have done it twice, absolutely recommend it) and loved just about everything about this restaurant. They had a small menu with dishes from a few west African countries as well as Cape Verde and most of the dishes were available as vegetarian if not vegan. I had the stew (vegan version) both times and it was incredible. So much flavor! The service was amazing as well, they were very friendly and helpful and made us feel right at home. The restaurant is also at the heart of the green street so the vibe is great if you end up sitting outside as well. All in all, definitely recommend it, with or without the African Lisbon Tour (although I strongly recommend the tour too!).

One of my favorite restaurants in Lisbon! I had an amazing time here. The atmosphere is super relaxed and welcoming, the staffs are very friendly, and the food is absolutely delicious. They offer plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, and the chilli sauce is flavorful and spicy. 🔥 Highly recommended!

Looking for absolutely delicious food & drinks in an atmosphere where you're immediately family? Go to Mambo, Fresh, perfectly seasoned, cooked to delectable perfection! We enjoyed Sengalese & Cape Verdean dishes. Impeccable service! We had to go 2 days in a row.

One of the best meals I had in Lisbon! After the Africa Lisbon Tour with Naky, my friends and I ended the day at Mambo in the charming Santos neighbourhood, and it truly felt like a warm welcome home, especially as we were greeted by one of the owner's with, “Welcome Home!” I had the poulet yassa - delicious, generous, and even better with a little chilli on the side. My friend also loved her yassa, while her husband devoured his mafe/groundnut stew. We enjoyed Cape Verdean rum cocktails and caipirinhas, while others in our group tried different dishes from across West Africa. The food was soulful, vibrant, and full of flavour, and the atmosphere was just as welcoming. A must-try in Lisbon if you want to experience the rich tastes of West Africa and especially from the Portuguese-speaking parts too. I’ll definitely be back, and with more friends!
