Mamma Nui

A charming restaurant that’s not on the Main Street, but it’s definitely worth walking a few minutes to visit. The food are so delicious and generously portioned. The salad was fresh with abundant of ingredients and the tuna dish was very flavourful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. He even suggested me the best coffee in town that I ended up visiting twice during my stay.

We ate in various restos in Rapa Nui and sadly, we were very unhappy with this place. We were 4 pax and ordered 3 dishes: ribs which was good for sharing (per the menu), shrimp pasta and spaghetti bolognese. My daughter's spaghetti bolognese was tasteless. The noodles were ok but the sauce tasted like it was out of a bottle. I had asked if they can add some cheese and they said I'd have to pay for it. As I felt it was not right, I asked what can be done about it and they said to just add salt and nothing else. They never gave me the option of returning it and I felt it was rude to ask if I could because it was right to pay. Am very unhappy with the service as when i tried talking to the waitress, she said she could not do anything. And when I spoke to the chef, she was arrogant and very defensive. So I asked if I can just take it out (to see if I am allowed to feed it to the many stray dogs on the island) and another charge was asked for a bag! We did take out in other places and was never charged. I do not recommend this place at all.

What a great place. Amazing food, atmosphere ,wish I had found it sooner. Made a friend as well.

Atmosphere A+; Background/music A+; Service A+; Food A+; Beer selection - best I’ve seen so far on Rapa Nui. This place is awesome. I only wish we had discovered it sooner so I could go there multiple times. Thanks for a great dinner!

We have been only to the restaurant. It has been one of the best evenings we had during our vacation. Only a handful of other customers came that evening, which we cannot understand. It might be because there is no seaview, but that seems overrated on an island, that lets you see the ocean all day long anyways. The menu has maybe the best vegetarian options on the whole island. Some of us also had meat or fish and just everything was delicious. Besides the very good pisco sour, they also offer quite the choice of beers and wines. The staff is super friendly, the interior makes you feel very comfy. Did you also feel like the whole island plays the same kind of music all over? This restaurants choice of music is exquisite. Please try this restaurant once during your stay, they absolutely deserve full house every night.

Really good food and reasonably priced. A real bonus is this place has some great craft beers, which you can't really find anywhere else on the island. Had a west coast IPA from Mowa brewery (near Santiago) and it was great.

Really enjoyed the food and vibe of this restaurant. Good vegetarian choices for my hubby and excellent menu with a wide variety of options. I had the tuna steak with shrimp and French fries. Fanciest fish and chips I’ve ever had. Delicious!

The dinner was one of the best in years. I had tuna steak with shrimp and gravy over fries paired with a Russian stout. I can't begin to express how wonderful. A few days earlier I had the the tuna ceviche which was amazing but frankly all the raw ceviche I have had on the island was amazing. The tuna dish will live in my memory for years. Thank you!!!
