Mamma Nui

We came for dinner and loved it - lovely pasta & salad with a chocolate volcano for dessert, great selection of craft beer too. We are both vegetarian & there were options for us to choose from which was refreshing. Lovely garden and restaurant setting, like a home diner. Definitely worth the short walk from the coast road. Thank you for a lovely evening!

This place was our favorite restaurant on the island. We had such a wonderful experience. We picked the place for dinner just because we were walking by and ended up staying for two hours. Great food, great drinks. Very fun and friendly service. They had a local band play and the music was so good we had to stay for the whole set. Thank you for such a perfect night!

This was basically the only place open on Christmas Eve, and so wasn’t surprised at the expensive price tag, but had heard great things about this place and so was happy to pay. Couldn’t have been more wrong. Even by Rapa Nui standards, service was painfully, inexplicably, and unnecessarily slow. Standards of cleanliness were akin to a surf shack and not a venue charging premium prices. Quality of the cooking was severely under par, and in no way justified the prolonged waiting between courses. Worst was the incessant flea attack on my feet and lower legs. The whole place needs a rethink to decide what it wants to be… too expensive and pretentious for a surf shack and not elevated or competant enough for a fine dining restaurant

Outstanding, freshly made food, it might be a little out of your way but I can highly recommend. Great atmosphere and possibly the best Italian in town.

A charming restaurant that’s not on the Main Street, but it’s definitely worth walking a few minutes to visit. The food are so delicious and generously portioned. The salad was fresh with abundant of ingredients and the tuna dish was very flavourful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. He even suggested me the best coffee in town that I ended up visiting twice during my stay.

We ate in various restos in Rapa Nui and sadly, we were very unhappy with this place. We were 4 pax and ordered 3 dishes: ribs which was good for sharing (per the menu), shrimp pasta and spaghetti bolognese. My daughter's spaghetti bolognese was tasteless. The noodles were ok but the sauce tasted like it was out of a bottle. I had asked if they can add some cheese and they said I'd have to pay for it. As I felt it was not right, I asked what can be done about it and they said to just add salt and nothing else. They never gave me the option of returning it and I felt it was rude to ask if I could because it was right to pay. Am very unhappy with the service as when i tried talking to the waitress, she said she could not do anything. And when I spoke to the chef, she was arrogant and very defensive. So I asked if I can just take it out (to see if I am allowed to feed it to the many stray dogs on the island) and another charge was asked for a bag! We did take out in other places and was never charged. I do not recommend this place at all.

Everything about this restaurant is absolutely perfect!!! The food is so delicious, the service is perfect, the staff are so friendly. When you are on Rapa Nui (Easter Island), you have got to eat at this restaurant!!!

What a great place. Amazing food, atmosphere ,wish I had found it sooner. Made a friend as well.
