Where to Eat in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

"A contemporary yet traditionally rooted restaurant with multiple locations that elevates homestyle Vietnamese dishes—think fried rolls, grilled meats, and comforting soups—presented artfully within a lush, tropical-leaning dining room that suits date nights; an on-site boutique also sells locally made candles, oils, teas, and other artisan goods." - Dan Q. I recently had the pleasure of visiting Mà Mới, a Vietnamese restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City, and it definitely lived up to the hype! If you’re a fan of authentic Vietnamese cuisine, this place is a must-try. The vibe of the restaurant was super chill—casual yet stylish. It’s a great spot if you’re hanging out with friends or even having a relaxed meal by yourself. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Now, the food. Oh wow. I started with their pho, and it was everything I hoped for. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the meat was tender—just the right balance of spices. I also tried their banh xeo (Vietnamese pancakes), which were crispy on the outside and packed with savory fillings. Honestly, I could eat those all day. For dessert, I went with che ba mau (three-color dessert), and it was a refreshing sweet ending to the meal. The prices were pretty reasonable for the quality of food you get, and the portions were generous. If you’re craving authentic Vietnamese dishes that hit the spot, Mà Mới definitely delivers. Overall, I had a fantastic time, and I’m already planning my next visit. Highly recommend it if you’re in Ho Chi Minh City and want to taste some amazing local flavors!

The restaurant is truly architecturally beautiful, the building was very artistic, modern yet cultural at the same time. Absolutely loved the vibes. Service was also pretty great, staff were polite, friendly and also efficient. The food however was a little disappointing. Bear in mind I did not order their signature dishes. We’d order their chicken as appetiser and that was the only solid dish. The rest were a flop, imo. Shrimp friend rice was alright but nothing out of this world. The baby shrimp was overly salty. Chives with mushroom dish was also just alright. The vegetable soup tasted fine but the odour of the veggie was very strong, while I was able to endure, I don’t think many others can.. The squid dish was the most disappointing, sauce was very good but the squid itself was really tough to chew on and there’s no QQ aspect to it. I wanted to love Man Moi badly. Most likely would not revisit again, unfortunately. Price was on the high side which I don’t mind but the food was really mediocre.

The restaurant is on the second and third floor, the first floor is a souvenir shop and has so many things worth buying. Definitely worth a visit, the staff were friendly and the place is really nice. The food was FANTASTIC, I would eat it again. The squid was the highlight for me. Do your research before you order your food, the food I’ve ordered were delicious but I’ve seen people slandering the restaurant when they didn’t order the right things.

My first dinner on my 6th trip to Vietnam, and Man Moi was an absolute standout. Food was amazing—great portions, fair prices, and top-quality dishes. The nighttime ambiance is beautiful, and the service was excellent from start to finish. Loved the chilled tea to start, and every dish impressed: roasted baby shrimp, beef jerky papaya salad, grilled frog sausage with veggies and rice paper, and the incredible two-way duck on a hot stone plate. One of my best dining experiences in Ho Chi Minh City. Definitely a place I’ll revisit and my top recommendation for friends visiting

A very beautiful setting for lunch or dinner. We booked a table online for dinner, and it was very convenient. The entire place is full of surprises and is great for taking photos. The service was excellent from the time you get off the car to your table. The only disappointment is the food is not as great as I expected. However, the presentation of the food was excellent. Again great for photos. We ordered grilled chicken and duck breast, they were both either overcooked or dry / tough. Overall, it is still a great place to spend an evening.

Such a dissopointment. Booked a table 2 days in advance and was excited for it as reviews were good. Architecture is immaculate but it doesnt compensate for the food. Spring rolls were decent but the veggies with it meh. Farm chicken hot pot was disastrous, we didnt enjoy it at all. Practically no chicken, only veggies and rice noodles. High prices so expected a lot more than this. Craft beers were the only good thing. Service couldve been more attentive at a place like this, got better service in pizza 4p.

We visited Mặn Mòi, Tao Đàn while traveling through Vietnam and happened to be in Ho Chi Minh City for a friend’s birthday. The reservation process was really smooth and friendly — we even received a nice confirmation by email, which we appreciated. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. The restaurant itself is beautifully designed, and we also liked the little shop on the ground floor. After dinner, we had a short and very nice chat with the General Manager Phuong Vu, which made the evening feel even more personal. Definitely a lovely spot for great food in the heart of the city.

Had lunch here today and it was one of the most delicious meals I’ve had during my Saigon trip. Ordered the two-style duck breast, grilled pork, and shrimp rolls all fresh, flavorful, and beautifully served. The place feels cozy and green, with a relaxing scent and unique design. Staff were kind, attentive, and gave honest advice on portions; rare and much appreciated. A refreshing, high-quality dining spot. Definitely recommend!
