The room was really small and had nothing but a bed and a shelf, but if you are staying there for 3-4 days I guess it's bearable. It was being cleaned every day. The common bathroom is old and has a huge mold on the ceiling x.x But taking apart those things - the check-in was fast, kitchen was well-equipped, stay-in was cheap and we had only around 15 minutes by foot to the center. And huge greetings to the lovely chatty caretaker who loves Lewandowski :D

Rooms were okay. But we had trouble understanding the language, yet managed with Google translate. But their main door doesn't work properly. It's not at all easy to open it and the owner explained it as "be patient and open" instead of fixing their door, they want to teach their guests patience which I did not like at all. Otherwise it's an okay place to stay if you just wanna lock yourself up until checkout. Going out often is a pain.

We had a lovely stay. You can reach the city center by foot in app. 15 minutes and the building itself has quite a vintage charm (as it is typical for Lisbon). We had one of the suites with a private bathroom which was very clean and we didn’t have any issues with noise. The price-quality-ratio is very good.

They acknowledged my booking.com reservation a week before I was due to arrive, a touch which I always like. The room was comfortable with a nice high ceiling and perfectly clean. The staff and management speak English and are helpful. There is a pleasant patio to relax and enjoy the fragrance of the fig trees; in early September it was warm enough to sit outside until late. At £25 per night it's excellent value. A bit of street noise in the distance but not enough to keep you awake. No breakfast but there are several cafes nearby to help you add on some calories! It's a bit of a hike to the city centre but trams will get you there easily (28 to Alfama, 25 to Praca Comercio).

Mana guesthouse was a real surprise...as we had a bit of a problem to find decent and affordable acommodation in August in Lisbon; Mana was vacant and quite cheap.||I did not expect much, especially when I saw that part of town. It seemed pretty obscure and dirty area but actually I felt secure and fine there.||At the first sight Mana didn't promise much but when we accomodated there, all my doubts were gone.||The room was really spacious, clean and nice. I felt very cosy there. ||The bathroom was spotlessly clean. ||I thought that it would be noisy at night as the room had a view to the street and opposite the pensao is a bar. But, quite opposite...I had the best sleep during my stay in Portugal, and we changed various accommodation. The bed was so comfortable, it was so peaceful that I really had good and appropraite rest.||Staff is also very nice and they will help you and assist in every requirement you may have.||There is no breakfast in the "pensao" but there is a kitchen and dinning room...so you can have and prepare your own breakfast there.||There is also a nice, leafy garden to enjoy your breakfast.||There is really nothing to complain about. I think that Mana Guesthouse is great value for money, comparing it to some other guesthouses in Lisbon. It is great for shorter stay and if you want to pay for a reasonable price.||The location is good, 10-15 minutes to Bairro Alto but there are some bars in that street too.

+||We were lucky to get up upgrade due to double booking. Our room was spacious and clean and quiet. Great wifi. Lovely lady checked us in and showed us our room. Nice view from the window. Our room was made up nicely each day with fresh linen however they forgot to restock the toilet paper but we were able to take some from the shared toilets.||||-||The most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in! Lucky I was able to fold the blanket from my friends bed and lay on it to give some relief from the springs in the mattress-Poor quality of sleep. Shower door was broken which the lady apologized for but this meant the bathroom floor and everything else got wet. Also the shower doesn't drain. A second mirror is needed. There is no A/C but a small portable heater and fan is available. The heater worked well as we had to dry all our clothes as we got caught in the rain.

The place has some decent facilities such as having a tv both in your room and in the living room area to watch. Also there is a garden outside for guests to enjoy the sunshine in and the place is walkable distance to the city and has some shops nearby to go in and even some bars and restaurant's around the area to. However, they have thin walls hence it is easy to hear noises coming from the place such as people talking and also in the bathrooms (which are small and have to be shared) there was mould on the walls and ceilings which is not good for health and hygiene reasons. The place is old and needs refurbishing

The guest house does not do breakfast but there is a communal kitchen where you prepare food and drink. There are shops nearby where you can buy pastries and cafes where you can buy a breakfast. ||||The rooms were functional, comfortable and clean. A bit of a drainy smell in the en suite and the toilet flush sometimes stuck on but apart from that everything was fine. ||||The area is convenient for buses trams and trains and as our party was exploring the area this was perfect. Plenty of bars and restaurants close by as well.
