Was immediately greeted with a smile and made to feel comfortable by the night worker, Aaron. He gave us great recommendations and helped out with any questions we had. What a great first introduction to Nicaraguan hospitality! Stayed in a shared dorm room which was very minimal, also stayed in #4 private room which was very nice and a very good deal.

I was here for a few days, really nice and clean, good security, the owners were very friendly and helpful. It’s a very quiet chill place but in a central location close to restaurants etc. I would totally say here again for couple days!

Thank you very uch for keeping our paket and move it in the very nice, brandnew hostel. We are in another great place in Granada now, enjoying typical rare supergood european food and beer. It is Charly's Guesthouse and we shall say buenos saludos from him. Konrado y Ute

Worst hostel experience I've had after traveling the last 2 years and staying in almost 100 hostels, purely due to the owner and his customer service. I'll premise this by saying I was initially in the wrong as I was in a public area brushing my hair at around 11:10, which was past the hours that were stated around the premise. My rating isn't based around the rule, but the way the owner handled the situation. Rob came out in automatic defense mode and was so rude saying I needed to immediately move back to my room, I couldn't be there, etc in an extremely aggressive and condescending way. He wouldn't let me get a word in to apologize to explain why I misunderstood the policy (I showed up after dark and didn't see the details on the signs and misunderstood what was considered a no-go area). I was trying to ask if I was able to use the washroom at night and as mentioned he wouldn't let me speak so I was too scared all night to even exit my room to go to the loo. I've never dealt with any business owner like this and he literally made me cry. The whole time I was there I heard him constantly talk about people who left inaccurate or poor reviews and how they were all in the wrong and was defending himself. So unprofessional. If he treated people in a respectful way and like actual people I doubt this would be an issue. I spoke to most of the other guests here and they were all in complete agreement. Someone also had their headphones stolen. As mentioned, I've stayed in over 100 hostels and not once did anyone have their stuff taken. To top it off the facilities were just all sub-par. Hottest dorm rooms I've ever stayed in, the shower smelled like sewage (I think from the drain?), there was nowhere in the room to put your bags and the mattress was awful. I rarely leave any reviews but this place warranted it. Avoid, avoid, AVOID.

We entered to ask the prices and the guy at the reception was extremely rude to us. No clue if he was the owner or just a staff member, but while we were discussing between ourselves if we wanted to stay or not (18$ for a dormbed is definitely not affordable for a lot of people) he started pressuring us and then said the price is for security reasons. Seeing the amount of robberies reported in the place I guess there's not much security at the end. We decided not to stay, mainly for the rude treatment by the guy at the reception. I suggest they get better staff or work towards improving their behavior instead of replying to every bad review they get, maybe the quality of the service will improve.

I could write a lot about this place, very little of it good - but we can start there||It was pretty clean. Chris at the front desk was very helpful. Michael (one of the owners) seemed normal/decent from the brief interactions that I had with him||On to the negative||1) They charge for late check in, which is not disclosed before booking|2) The dorm rooms are terrible - the one I was in had several bunk beds, and a large bed in the center for when it was rented as a private that just took up space (don't you DARE touch it or put stuff on it). There was a single straight backed wooden chair, and a single small table with ONE fan on it that barely moved any air. Nowhere to hang clothes, put anything, get stuff out of the way, or be comfortable|3) The RULES. Ok we get it, ya got to have rules. But Bob would preach about them every time that he saw you, whether he perceived some violation or not. It was obnoxious - he literally was chuckling and bragging about how he got the opportunity to throw away peoples food the day I arrived because it wasn't labelled properly, even though he said he knew it was theirs. It was impossible to have a normal conversation with him, or end it - he just wanted to talk about himself and the RULES (which are posted everywhere, in case you missed them). The RULES also would prevent normal quiet hostal stuff - like reading on the couch at night, because your dorm is hot or other people don't want the light on. It is one thing to have a quiet hostal, another to make it awkward and uncomfortable to exist, which is the effect of the zealous enforcement. |4) Security isn't that great. Small lockers up front for small valuables, nothing to prevent staff or other people from stealing stuff (see other reviews) ||The pool wasn't that clean, communal bathrooms out of TP in the morning, and overall it just wasnt worth the headache of staying there and feeling unwelcome the entire time. The hostal had a poor atmosphere that felt like it was the tiny domain of an overcontrolling insecure guy with no social awareness or grace. I do not recommend staying here
