I got my first ever tattoo from Julio at Mana'o Tattoo Studio, and the experience was absolutely amazing. I described to him what I would like to have done, and he freehanded the design directly onto my leg-exactly how I had imagined it. Julio even stayed after hours to finish the tattoo in one sitting so I wouldn’t have to come back the next day. After finishing, he recorded a video on my phone explaining the meaning behind each symbol. The studio had a calm, welcoming vibe with great music and everything is very clean. I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. If you're looking for an original Polynesian-style tattoo, I highly recommend Mana'o Tattoo Studio and Julio as an artist.

Having been to French Polynesia several times, I wanted to get a threadfin butterfly tattoo based on not only a photo we took when drift snorkeling at Taha'a, but also based on my love of the area, the people, and the culture. We live very near the ocean, so also have a love. of great white sharks and humpback whales. I appreciate the thought that Raufara of Mana'o Tattoo Studio put into creating my tattoo. A great way to always the beauty of French Polynesia, its beauty, and its wonderful people.

This was my first, and most likely will be my only, tattoo. I’ve for years wanted a manta ray in this style but was only going to get it if I visited FP. I was really nervous and considered canceling my appointment many times, and even considered leaving once I was there. Hiko, my artist, was very lovely. Even with a language barrier he put me at ease and was able to understand what I had in mind, and quickly made up the art in a tablet. He then placed it on my skin and we discussed the placement and ended up moving it a bit. It was a much quicker process than I expected and I love the result. Highly recommend this place if you are in the area and want something done on this style.

My experience at Mana’o Tattoo was perfect. The booking process was super easy and quick. I was able to secure my spot with a small deposit which was used toward the final price. The price was fair and the shop was clean. I’d recommend making an appointment to guarantee you get the time and artist you’re looking for. When I arrived at 9:30am when they opened, they were already busy. My appointment was with Julio and I can’t recommend him enough. He’s very friendly, talented and listened to exactly what I wanted my tattoo to mean. He came up with an amazing design that is absolutely perfect for me. First, he made sure we got the placement and size right, next he drew the design free hand on my foot and made sure I liked the details. His work is absolutely beautiful!!! Thanks a bunch Julio!!!

Raufara is great! Gave me a great leg piece on vacation. He can do awesome realism in addition to his traditional Polynesian. The communication with the shop was excellent. It began 2 months before my trip. I gave them a deposit to reserve my appointment which was applied to my total afterwards with no hassle. Raufara even snuck my wife in for a quick tattoo after I was done. Can’t say enough good things.
