Manastir Gradiste

a uniquely unforgettable experience. the monk present there gave us a little intro and we truly enjoyed some moments of serenity. the significance, its precious works and the peaceful atmosphere contributed to a visit tgat the entire group cherished. they have a small souvenir shop with lovally made memories to take home. there is some fresh mountain spring water available, so... bring a bottle. the view is mesmerising.

Lovely view from the top. Two small chapels/churches are in very good shape. Whole area taken care of. Guests were offered free grapes when we were there.

Cute quiet monastery, sweet view and colours, free. Take the long way around to get (pass gas station) to get there!

Quiet and peaceful monestary with lovely views.

Manastir Gradiste, atop a hill, offers peace and spotless surroundings just a short walk from the coast. The view of the sea and mountains is simply stunning. It's a serene escape you shouldn't miss.

What a great and peaceful place to visit while in Buljarica. There are total of three churches on the hill, and definitely take the forest road near the market, cause the path is surreal, I would compare to Survival Tribal council path. On the top, you can also purchase candle(s)🕯️ and lit it for the living or the dead. Just keep in mind to be respectful while visiting this landmark.

From the main road, you can only see an inconspicuous piece of one church. When you get there, you will see an amazing monastery, a place of majestic tranquility, beautiful buildings and a wonderful view of the sea and mountains. You can soak up history watching the frescoes and rest in the shade of the grapevines. Even in high season there are no tourists. Entry is FREE. You can get by car to the gate of the monastery, where there is a parking space for two cars. NOTE: the road is easy to miss. Going towards Petrovac you should pass the gas station and then you will see a small sign "Gradiste". However, when driving from Petrovac, there is no sign. Before the gas station, where there is a sign "200m" to the station, you have to turn left sharply and you will see the sign "Gradiste".

Worth the effort, amazing views from up there. And very well conserved monastery. Not easy to find the right way up. Ask at the gas station, they speak some English.
