"A Seat In Peru Made Just For You A true desert outpost, the Peruvian town of Mancora enjoys the most sunshine hours of anywhere in the country. Unlike the rest of Peru the water is warm enough to surf without a wetsuit, a welcome complement to an area already featuring some of the best waves in South America. Hemingway knew what he was doing when he set up shop in nearby Cabo Blanco, an authentic fishing village where the ceviche is some of the freshest on the planet and the days pass with a simple peacefulness unique to many coastal escapes. While outdoor activities abound around Mancora, from kitesurfing to fishing to morning yoga sessions, on this particular morning the to-do list consists of nothing more than a good book, a cold drink, and watching whales splash on the endless horizon."
It is definitely a nice laid-back place to spend a couple of days at the beach. The water (in September) has a convenient temperature of approx. 21-22 deg C and the sunsets are amazing.
There are various bars for drink and food options.
It is busy but not crowded and the people are relaxed.

Beautiful beach, very long and many activities you can do, like water sports or surfing, but also good just to chill and enjoy the view. Sometimes it can get very crowded, especially close to the afternoon hours, and you cannot find a quiet spot, but most of the times you will!

Small rustic town, primitive feel.

I really loved Máncora! The weather is always nice. Local people are very friendly. You can get around easily. I will definitely go back!

Máncora is different. At the weekend it's full of people and if you like to do partying then it's perfect. But there are space for families as well. Unfortunately everything seams to be a bit rocked down. You can find good restaurants and cafes, even cheep onse, for example at the main market. The beach is ok but in my opinion bad for surfing. There is only a very small part to catch waves and in this part you have a lot of rocks. It is not good for beginners they want to go on there own to practice. You can kite surf as well, but the prices are way to high for latin America. It cost even more then europe, even more then Germany and that is insane.

Mancora is ok, worth a couple of days, but most of these reviews make it sound great, it isn't... Does have the ocean, only rains 3 months of the year, other times are dry and dusty.

Mancora is a very nice place to stay and relax. It's always sunny but it can also be windy sometimes. I loved the sunrises and sunsets there. Depending on the period, it can be really full of people as many Peruvians like to go there on vacations. This is also a great place to eat Ceviche !
