Mandalai Hotel

We sincerely loved our stay at Mandalai. These negative comments are from professional complainers. The staff were very helpful, polite and friendly. This hotel has to be one of the best values on Koh Phangan. Central to Chaloklum beach. Plenty of restaurants close by for any time of the day(Kaif cafe is great. If you go, get their Banana French toast). Very grateful for our stay at Mandalai. Thanks for making our stay memorable.

⭐☆☆☆☆ In Need of Urgent Refurbishment While the staff were courteous and welcoming, the overall condition of the hotel was extremely disappointing. The rooms are outdated and not well maintained, with visible mould in the bathrooms and decaying handrails that pose safety concerns. The noise from the swimming pool pump is constant, making it difficult to relax, particularly in the rooms located near the pool area. The property is in dire need of refurbishment, and it is evident that the management has neglected essential maintenance. Despite the efforts of the friendly staff, the hotel fails to provide a comfortable or restful stay. Investment and proper care are urgently required to bring this establishment up to an acceptable standard !

Our favourite hotel in Thailand! Make sure you take a room with sea view it's the best!! On Sundays the night market is just next corner! We will definitely be back!! Thank you!!

I honestly dont understand the negative reviews. They are probably written by people who are just not well travelled. This place is wonderful! The room is large and clean, the shower is also large and the people are incredibly friendly. Whenever you need anything all you have to do is ask. The only thing I would have preferred is that it would be adult only. The walls are thin and the kids paying in the pool can be a bit bothersome. But thats just me, im not a fan of kids. The people who run this place also have kids running around, but they are very well behaved. Its the guest kids who cause a lot of noise. But still, I booked a few extra nights because its just a fantastic place to stay. Everything you want is close by, shops and bars, restaurants etc. And the view cant be beaten!

TL;DR: Mandalay Hotel misled us about a baby crib, overcrowded the room with extra beds, our baby fell from the bed, and the hotel owners hung up when confronted. Unsafe and unacceptable. I do not recommend Mandalay Hotel. The listing promised a baby crib, which was critical for our stay, but upon arrival we were told there is only one crib in the entire property, and it was already in use. Instead, the hotel forced an extra single bed into the room, making it overcrowded and unsafe. During the night, our baby fell from the bed, and when we spoke with the hotel owners about it, they claimed we had no evidence and hung up the call. The hotel failed to deliver what was advertised, and this experience was both unsafe and unacceptable. Agoda’s customer service refused to provide a refund at all, citing a “non-refundable” policy, despite the misleading listing. Avoid this hotel, especially if you are traveling with children.

Well located family run hotel. Beach location. Roof terrace. Close to all amenities. Central village location. Various restaurants and cafes all within walking distance. A couple of pubs near. Multiple 7/11’s to hand. Taxi boats at this stunning location.

Lovely Thai family run this hotel, they are so nice, nothing is too much trouble I’ve stayed here many times and every time it’s been great! Rooms always very clean, you can rent a bike, they have a taxi service, you can get laundry done! And they are on the best beach!! (Pictures from a stay in 2024 couldn’t get this room on our latest stay!)
