Stayed here for 6 nights in late January (sorry this is late). The first impression was a bit of a shock as we were in very good hotels in both Yangon and Inle, but we appreciated the hotel and it's location much more as our stay progressed. We chose a more upgraded room which had a comfortable seating area and coffee table. We had booked through the hotel and found that very efficient.||||As we got to know Mandalay better, we realised a lot of hotels are in very noisy positions as it is a big, bustling city, so quite rightly we had been advised to choose this one when I had asked on the forums for a quiet hotel. The service and food was also good, so no complaints - it was more Mandalay which we were not too keen on. We were able to walk to a local street market which was very interesting as it was not a tourist market (staff can advise how to get there - they are very helpful). We also used a car/driver suggested by them for excursions on three days. His name was Mr Bob and he had a big modern minibus, so it was quite a bit of luxury for just two of us and his prices were good as well. He took us to a couple of restaurants, one was very good, the other not so much.||||Overall we enjoyed our time in Mandalay as there is quite a lot to do from there, but we would have liked a better pool area as it was very small and shaded with a lot of overhanging trees. The trees could have been cut back to improve the area considerably. We ate in the hotel most evenings and found the food good and well priced.||||We also found a very good laundry not far from there (but not very near either). It was called Laundry King. I had a skirt washed in the hotel once and it shrank a bit, so would not suggest using the hotel laundry service.

We stayed one night at Mandalay City Hotel and found it very clean and comfortable. The single room was fairly small but more than adequate for a night’s stay. The pool area was lovely and I loved the plants around the pool and at the entrance to the hotel. We had dinner at the hotel that night and it was fine, but not brilliant. Any shortcomings of the hotel were more than made up for by the friendly and very helpful staff.

The former highway complex turned into a cozy and classy hotel in the busy areas. It is quiet and nicely decorated with a good swimming pool. Rooms are not large but clean and comfortable. The breakfast is good too. The staffs are fantastic. Will definitely stay there again.

It is an oasis is the middle of a crazy city! The road just outside is super busy, but you don't hear it at all from the hotel. The room was pretty tight for 3 people, but for 2 it would have been perfect. That WiFi was good, the bathroom and shower were great! And it had a great location too. I'd definitely recommend anytime stay there!

We found this an OK hotel. Nice and central, in its own courtyard. Rooms are OK, but a bit dated. Reasonable breakfast. Value for money. Staff were friendly and helpful. Note the lift does not go to each floor, just the stairs between floors. But staff are helpful with baggage.

A surprisingly modern and amazingly clean hotel, hidden from the main streets. The rooms were very comfortable and it felt worth the money. Service was amazing, with our names on a sign to greet us at check-in. Breakfast was also pretty good, with quite a large selection available.

Hotel was clean and fine for a one off stay in Mandalay. Rooms were small but perfectly suitable with nice modern bathrooms. There was a pool which we did not use as was too busy and breakfast was a limited choice but satisfactory. Hotel was not in a great location as had to get a tuk tuk to restaurant but this was not a problem. Reception staff were very helpful.

nice hotel. large rooms and bathroom. staff is super friendly and helpful. housekeeping staff very helpful with carying our suitcases. waiters at the breakfast are very helpful with getting your food without being intrusive. always smiling and well trained. good hotel, i recommend. only silly that elevator stops halfway the staircase, so you still need to carry a few steps.
