Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve

We have travelled to Bali for several times but this was our first visit of Ubud. Mandapa, Ritz Carlton Reserve is another level on top of those luxury brands among Marriott Group. The resort itself is gorgeous, rooms are spacious, every staff are well trained with top notch services from our check-in till our check-out moment. Especially our butler Rahadi, who took care of us on everything. He arranged our daily activities, restaurants booking, housekeeping for cleaning our room (he arranged housekeeping to clean our room while we went out for breakfast every morning 👍🏻), photo shooting session, transportation, etc. He also gave us very good advice on our sunrise trip at Kintamani and arranged resort driver for us. Highly appreciated! ||Restaurant: Highly recommended “Ambar” and we had dinner and evening drinks over golden hours there for two nights over our four nights stay. Food was delicious and nicely presented. Very comfortable environment! ||We also could see the executive chef for many times around the resort and restaurants. We were lucky to have chance to talk to him as he asked us comments on the food quality and what our favourite or foods which we didn’t like the most from the restaurants. You can see he has passion to see any room for improvement and wanted to do it better. ||Resort drivers were also very polite and well trained. ||My kids enjoyed feeding the cows in the resort very much ☺️||I can say Mandapa is one of the best resorts I ever stayed. My whole family enjoyed every moment staying in Mandapa and we definitely will come back again.

Stayed in a rainforest villa. Was incredibly private, in fact we barely saw other guests outside the lobby on our 5 night stay. Room had seperate living room and massive pool. Its safe to say this is one of the most upscale hotels rooms one could experience. Even the art and chandeliers in the villa are ornate. ||I will say that having to pay for the villa upgrade while on a honeymoon is a bit disappointing but the property made it worth every penny. ||It is the best service I have ever experienced in a resort. Darrin our Patih did an incredible job, we didn't see the housekeeping at morning or in the evening until our final day(Darren had off). Its touches like this that provide unbound luxury. The resort is seemingly always offering gifts, from nightly turndown to post spa treatment everything is 5 Star. ||Breakfast is very tasty and includes buffet and sit down, service at breakfast was 5+ star. They weren't able to modify an item one day and made it special for me the next day. Can also do in villa which we chose on our last morning, they brought a massive amount of food to us, one of many great experiences on site. ||We also went on a tour in an old VW, this was also a highlight due the the resort tour guides, would recommend to everyone. ||In summary the rooms at this resort are unmatched-especially the villas. The services exceeds all other Ritz, St Regis, 4 seasons that I have experienced including other RC Reserve Properties. That being said its in the mountains and the biggest activity is going to the Spa. Don't stay here if you're not looking for R&R.

This is one of the nicest reserves I visited in. Bali definitely deserves a five star rating from the moment you greeted the staff are extremely professional and very polite. The reserve itself is extremely beautiful. It’s by the river in the middle of the wood forest. There’s lots of touches from Ballina culture lots of activities to do as well. They have different restaurants and the restaurants have amazing food. The rooms are really nice and big and have lots of amenities. Highly recommended for a vacation.

This is one of the most beautiful hotels in the world, and the people who work here are top -notch. We have never felt so welcome and appreciated in my lifeour lives. We were lucky enough to be looked after by Ibu Nity, who went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect for us every single day. We are so grateful to her and to the other staff around the resort. Thank you also to Ibu Mia and the other servers at Kubu. You guysall are amazing. We will never forget our stay at the Ritz-Carlton Mandapa.

Her warmth and attentiveness were unparalleled.||We had an early morning trip to Lovina to see the dolphins, and Nessa made sure we had a beautifully prepared breakfast box ready to take with us. For this trip to Bali, it was imperative for us to stay at Mandapa to truly experience Ubud—and it turned out to be the best decision we’ve ever made! This is, without a doubt, the best place we have ever stayed on our family vacations across 40+ countries.||From the moment we arrived, the Mandapa team made us feel special - in a quintessential Balinese way! We were greeted with warm smiles, refreshing drinks, and a traditional tridatu bracelet symbolizing balance and harmony. Then we met Made, our amazing Patih (Personal Host), who went above and beyond to make our entire stay extraordinary.||Even before check-in, we were blown away by the first glimpse of the Reserve from the airy, open “pavilion” lobby perched on top the cliff. The views were jaw-dropping! Mandapa is serene, surreal, and spectacular—designed like a classic Balinese village with its own rice paddies, a temple, lush jungle surroundings, and the beautiful Ayung River running through it. The resort is so expansive and peaceful that we didn’t leave for the first two days of our week-long stay!||Thanks to the amazing team (and Marriott loyalty perks), we were upgraded to a private lux villa. What a dream! It was the perfect mix of classic and modern Balinese design—a spacious one-bedroom villa with its own infinity pool, a dreamy outdoor shower, a standalone living room (which become my sons den!), and lush gardens. Waking up here felt like living in a postcard. It was perfect for our family of three.||The food and drinks were absolutely delish! The highlight was the eclectic Balinese breakfast everyday at the gorgeous Sawah Terrace , overlooking Ayung River and the evening hike/walk up to the to the enchanting cliff top Ambar Bar for cocktails and Japanese fusion food. This was our daily routine. No need to go anywhere else to eat and drink!||We also took full advantage of the resort’s “Disconnect to Reconnect” program. From Balinese cooking classes by the Ayung River to morning and evening yoga sessions, heavenly spa treatments (especially during Bali’s rainy December days), a fun VW 181 convertible tour through Ceking rice field terraces and Ubud temples, and a curated family dinner at Kubu Restaurant by the river (complete with local Balinese wine), every experience made us so deeply connected to our surroundings. We were literally “disconnected” :)||What truly set Mandapa apart wasn’t just the breathtaking surroundings or luxurious amenities—it was the incredible staff. Their attention to detail, warm smiles, and thoughtful gestures made every moment unforgettable. From floral arrangements and anniversary surprises to chocolate pralines at turn-down and personalized gifts like Balinese coffee and recipes, they made us feel so cared for.||So here’s a big shoutout to the amazing team members who made our stay extraordinary:||* Made (Patih): Incredible! We made a reservation to visit The Ritz in Ubud for cocktails and appetizers, and we had a fantastic experience. Here's what stood out: Amazing Cocktails – The cocktails were top-notch, and it’s clear why they’re known for their mixology. Stunning Views – The view from the bar area was absolutely breathtaking, making it the perfect spot to unwind. Delicious Food – The appetizers were mostly excellent, with a great variety of flavors and high-quality ingredients. Friendly Service – As always, the Balinese hospitality shone through, and the staff were warm, attentive, and welcoming. Overall, we had a wonderful time at the resort enjoying drinks and appetizers, and I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Ubud. It’s definitely worth checking out!

Hands down the best hotel and Service we have ever experienced across the Marriott group properties. Our butler Dewa was amazing, incredibly thoughtful, responsive and friendly. The service experienced across all divisions of the property was consistently at an incredibly high level which is very hard to achieve. The location, food, rooms, location etc. it’s all just incredibly special and a great photo shoot to capture these memories 🙏
