Our anniversary at Mandapa was nothing short of transcendental, defined by a level of soul-stirring luxury that feels uniquely Balinese. The heartbeat of our stay was undoubtedly the exceptional service of the entire staff, which I believe meets the gold standard of hospitality. Special shoutout to our butler, Marka, whose intuitive service and genuine warmth made every moment feel effortless and deeply personal. To immortalize the milestone, we worked with Rista from Photo Leisure, whose artistic eye and mastery of the lush, riverfront landscape resulted in high-quality photos that ought to belong in a high-end gallery. From the serene rice paddies, magnificent cocktails at Ambar, delicious breakfast at Kubu, and small oasis that is the spa, Mandapa isn't just a hotel—it’s a masterpiece of an experience that has permanently recalibrated our expectations of what a luxury getaway should be. The Mandala Resort left a lasting imprint on my heart. From the moment we arrived, the beauty of the views took my breath away, but it was the warmth and intentionality of the service that truly made this stay unforgettable. Our butler, Medi, anticipated every need with such care — thoughtfully packing breakfast for our early excursions and even coordinating a stunning photoshoot around the property so we could capture the magic of the experience. These moments made us feel genuinely seen and cared for. The food was exceptional, especially breakfast, which felt endless in variety and indulgence. Our room was spacious, modern, and serene — a true sanctuary after long days of exploring. This wasn’t just a hotel stay; it was an experience filled with beauty, ease, and meaningful touches that will stay with me long after leaving. I would return without hesitation and recommend The Mandala to anyone seeking something truly special.

Probably one of the best views I’ve ever had from a hotel. Sitting in the Ambar after rain felt like up in the clouds. You will witness the formation of the clouds. Light water vapor forming from the rain forest under you, they then drift up to the sky. The room was spacious and comfortable the food was good from all the restaurants within the hotel. The personal butler adds another layer to the already wonderful service. Take advantage of their wellness classes and spa. We had an amazing time in Mandapa.

From the moment we arrived, every staff member made us feel like we belonged there — they remembered us, greeted us by name, and took care of every detail with genuine warmth. The butler service was absolutely amazing, and our butler Thania was honestly one step ahead of a genie. She understood our food choices, meal timings, and even our sparkling water preference, and everything was arranged like magic without us having to repeat anything.||We stayed for 2 days, but it felt too short because the vibe of Mandapa is nothing less than heaven. The River View One Bedroom Villa was pure bliss — it reflected what a peaceful, luxurious life truly feels like. Mandapa’s people really know how to touch hearts and create lasting memories. They are simply outstanding.

Set high above the Ayung River in Sayan, Mandapa offers sweeping views from the lobby across rice fields, rainforest, and the river below. The scale is impressive, yet the atmosphere remains intimate and calm. As the only resort in Bali awarded Three MICHELIN Keys in 2025 and recognized among the World’s 50 Best Hotels, it represents the highest level of refined hospitality in Indonesia. My stay in the Ubud Pool Villa felt deeply personal. Complete privacy, generous space, and constant immersion in nature made it easy to disconnect and reset. Mandapa is also known for offering some of the largest entry level accommodations in Ubud, ensuring that space and comfort are part of the experience from the very beginning. The Patih service elevated everything, intuitive, warm, and genuinely attentive. Each venue added its own layer to the stay. Indonesian cuisine at Sawah, a restorative riverfront treatment at Mandapa Spa, sunset cocktails overlooking the valley at Ambar Ubud Bar, and a memorable nine course degustation at Kubu came together seamlessly. What defines Mandapa is not just beauty or luxury, but care. It is one of those rare places that leaves you feeling restored long after you leave.

Mandapa is pure magic. From the moment you arrive, the views of the rice fields and the river take your breath away. We stayed in a Riverfront Villa, and waking up to that dramatic river view was a highlight of our trip. The attention to detail here is incredible. We also treated ourselves to a couple's spa session. Don't let the occasional negative review sway you; the service was 'on point' and the setting, tucked into the jungle, is serene. For foodies, Kubu and Ambar are absolute must-visits. What really sets Mandapa apart, though, is the service. Our Patih was a lifesaver, navigating our schedule perfectly - we suggest you don't try to join too many events if you are staying only a few days like us The only 'hiccup' was the pre-arrival communication being filtered through trip.com; a direct reach-out would have felt more personal. That said, it's a 10/10 stay and we will definitely be back!

Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve is an incredibly beautiful, lush green resort with an exceptional level of service and genuine care for its guests. It is a place where you feel inspired to photograph every single corner.|The resort is nestled in the jungle, right on the riverbank, and its grounds are surrounded by stunning rice terraces, creating a truly magical atmosphere of privacy, tranquility, and harmony with nature.|The villas are magnificent: a private pool with a direct view of the river and the jungle, a large spacious veranda with a comfortable lounge area, and a private green courtyard. Every detail is thoughtfully designed, making it perfect both for family stays and complete relaxation.|The resort offers a small but very well-equipped gym and a cozy yoga room. The spa area features a steam sauna, a dry sauna, and a heated jacuzzi with a breathtaking view. We enjoyed massages as a family and were extremely satisfied with the quality of the treatments. I would especially like to mention my therapist, Kari, who made my spa experience truly special.|The staff deserve special recognition. Everyone is exceptionally friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring. You truly feel sincere warmth and a strong desire to make your stay perfect.|Breakfasts are excellent, with both à la carte and buffet options. There is a wide selection of egg dishes, cheeses, cold cuts, salmon, sashimi, fresh greens, salads, soups, a variety of Asian dishes, fruits, smoothies, yogurts, pastries, and freshly baked bread. Many tables offer beautiful views of the river and the jungle.|One morning all tables were occupied, and we had to wait briefly. However, the manager apologized to us many times and kindly invited us to a complimentary dinner at the Japanese restaurant. This gesture perfectly reflects the high level of service and genuine care for guests.|The resort has three restaurants, and we visited two of them:|Sawah Terrace — the cuisine was not entirely to our taste, as we are not big fans of Asian food.|Ambar (Japanese cuisine) — absolutely outstanding: delicious food, very creative signature cocktails, impeccable service, and breathtaking sunsets. I would especially like to mention our waiter, Oman, whose attention and care were felt in every moment.|One particularly touching detail deserves special mention: every evening before bedtime, we were brought herbal tea with local sweets. This was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture that created a feeling of comfort, warmth, and true personal care.|I would also like to thank our butler, Agung, who was extremely attentive and always ready to assist.|Overall, this was a truly special stay. The resort is filled with people with kind hearts, and we feel very lucky to have chosen this place.||We sincerely wish the resort continued success and prosperity, to always preserve this unique atmosphere of warmth and care, to welcome inspired guests from all over the world, and to enjoy many happy returns. The space is enormous, beautifully designed, and perfectly balanced between comfort and elegance, with a sense of privacy and calm that makes it feel more like a private home than a hotel room. I have stayed in countless suites at the most prestigious five star resorts globally, and this room surpasses all of them in both size and feeling. I have traveled extensively around the world and almost exclusively stay at five star resorts, from the most iconic properties in Europe to ultra luxury destinations in Asia and the Middle East, and Mandapa is without question either the number one or number two resort experience I have ever had. What makes that even more impressive is that the service here surpasses what I’ve experienced at places known globally for hospitality excellence. ||The setting is breathtaking, the food is Michelin level across the property, the spa by the river is profoundly restorative, and the grounds are impeccably maintained, but it is the service that elevates Mandapa into a category of its own. ||I want to express my deepest gratitude to Sagiasih and Diah for their warmth and extraordinary hospitality at Armbar - one of the extraordinary restaurants on property, to Eka for her incredible bar skills and unforgettable drinks, and especially to Sugi, my incredible butler, who made every single day effortless and meaningful. ||There are so many names I want to thank, and I owe an enormous debt of gratitude to all of them, one I hope they can forgive me for not fully expressing in the moment, because there was not a single day or interaction where they did not know my name, my preferences, or how to make me feel at home. ||I left Mandapa with peace in my soul and a genuine sense of astonishment at what service, kindness, and a truly ultra five star experience can be when it is done at the very highest level.
