Mandarin Oriental, Bodrum

We were initially excited to stay at the Mandarin Oriental, Bodrum for our honeymoon, but we left somewhat disappointed. We stayed there in late October, which is the end of the tourist season at Bodrum. This was not intentional, but done as our wedding was in October. Instead of either keeping the resort either fully open, or fully closed, MO Bodrum sits in the middle. There is only one restaurant left open. Other parts of the resort are closed and covered. Most shops are boarded. It felt eerie, akin to a ghost-town, walking through the grounds. As the resort started to wind down, so did the service at times. While the front desk and room service remained exceptional through the stay, dining service waned. We stopped receiving the menu on our last two days dining, and staff members came by our table much less frequently. Overall, I understand financially why it may be viable to continue having the resort open despite the wind-down in facilities and services in October. However, this made for an overall poor guest experience. The facilities are (presumably) very nice, and I'm sure the experience is much different in the summer. A proposed compromise may be to be more clear and direct about the facilities available upon booking. This would allow for a more informed decision and tempered expectations.

Nupelda was incredible! Every day she checked in, offered wonderful recommendations, and even helped us make reservations at different restaurants around Bodrum — plus at the spa. We had the most magical experience. When I travel, I usually love exploring outside the hotel or resort, but this time it was hard to leave — everything was that amazing. What an absolutely incredible place to honeymoon — I couldn’t recommend it more. Oxana and the entire team in the spa and salon were also fantastic — truly 10/10 service.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are green and lush. The food was incredible. We stayed for 5 nights and opted for the one bedroom apartment which perfectly suited our family of 4. The room was very spacious and cleaned twice daily. It also had a washing machine which was wonderful. There is two beaches of which I would highly recommend Lucca with its soft sand and clear water. There are plenty of dining options to cater for everyone. Watch out for Gigi - while delicious there far too many "influencers" ruining the vibe and taking photos everywhere!! ||The only downside of the hotel is the large crowds that come through from about lunchtime onwards. A lot of external people come through to visit the shops and to dine. While the hotel is lovely and calm in the morning, come the evening I wanted to hide in our apartment. The lobby is chaos and it feels the staff don't know who are guests of the hotel and who are visiting. The food and beverages are also overpriced but you know that before arriving so you expect it.

Such a lovely and wholesome experience it was! The room was so spacious and bright. We were welcomed by Öykü from the Guest Experience team, she was with us throughout our stay and was very thoughtful, professional and kind. We would love to see her again when we come back. Overall experience was great and I can say that it is one of the best MO properties in the world. Thank you to the dearest team!

Our stay at the Mandarin Oriental Bodrum was absolutely exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to make my fiancé’s birthday truly special. A heartfelt thank you to Nupelda, who was simply outstanding — she took care of every detail with such kindness and professionalism. From organizing a beautiful birthday surprise to helping us book activities and even arranging a late checkout, she made everything seamless. Her thoughtfulness and warmth genuinely made this trip unforgettable. We can’t wait to come back — largely because of the incredible experience she created for us.

I would 100% return for the quality of the hotel but especially for the one of a kind attentive staff. I’ve never been made feel so special. However, I’d be less inclined to do so in October due to all boutiques and 90% of the restaurants being closed by now. The watersports group was amazing also!

Property is beautiful and the amenities are next level, truly not comparable to any other hotel in the world. The only comment here is the service is variable all over the property. You could have wonderful staff at the spa and at the restaurants, then go to the beach and no one comes over to take orders or help set up beach chairs. This would not deter me from going again, this is an amazing location and a spectacular hotel. They just need to create consistency across service.

Really enjoyed our time at the Mandarin Bodrum. The property and facilities (particularly the spa and gym) are exceptional. The team was also incredibly friendly and welcoming. The beach facilities were great (not too crowded even in August) and food options were expansive. The hotel also seems to be a real epicenter of activity in Bodrum with very popular restaurants like Hakkasan and Gigi. That was the only think we didn't really love. However, that could be a real plus for some people. We also visited in the the peak of August and found the congestion at the entrance to the hotel a little annoying. The restaurants are really solid, but again suffer a little bit from the peak season overcrowding and the value proposition is non-existent (and we are pretty acclimated to high prices and still thought the pricing was exorbitant even for a luxury hotel). Some real bright spots on the team were Nilay, the Spa director, who was lovely and a total pro in addressing a hiccup we had on a planned activity. Our guest services person Nupelda was also a highlight. Overall, would recommend and enjoyed our time, but would probably go back at a time other than August. And for people who want a scene, likely a 5 star experience.

Welcome to the claustrophobic beach where boats park and block your view...! Food and service below average for what you are paying, there are so many other better choices in Bodrum.

Most beautiful Mandarin Oriental I have ever visited. Truly an amazing experience. The service is absolutely excellent, people a very friendly, the restaurants are great and top quality, the rooms are espectacular! I recommend this for couples who want to relax. The hotel is very private, and very romantic.

Stunning rooms and hotel... but for what you pay for the service stinks. You have to pay for wifi also, and everything else you eat/drink/or even touch you have to pay for.
