Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai

"Why book? The epitome of multicultural, modern Dubai, this beachfront property is all about maximum relaxation by day and sophisticated shimmering intrigue by night. Set the scene Heavily frequented by Emiratis, business travelers, and tourists, not only does the property provide a sophisticated broad-ranging culinary menu, but also has an exclusive Club Lounge. The lobby is breathtaking from the outset with its firefly-like glow on trees adorned with 900 lights, and highlighted by the crisp white marble floor. The backstory The first venture for the Asia-based Mandarin Oriental group in the United Arab Emirates, the 256-room property was architecturally designed by Jeffrey A Wilkes, a man who is also responsible for the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok and the Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai. Personalized service and excellence in innovative food and beverage doesn’t disappoint here. The rooms Decadent and refined, the rooms are as you’d expect from a Mandarin Oriental property. The decor blends earthy tones with touches of tangerine, teal and gold and only the finest materials (Statuario marble and Persian travertine) along with quality linens, the design approach seamless. Most of the rooms and suites have balconies and terraces, offering views out to Arabian Gulf or the Dubai skyline. The Natura Bisse toiletries elevate the luxe appeal, while the in-room tech isn’t as intuitive as may be expected. The Mandarin Sea Front Suite is ideal for the waterfront views and wraparound balcony. Food and drink Given its global approach to food and beverage, each one of the six F&B establishments has its own appeal, none more so than Tascas, the rooftop eatery by Portuguese culinary superstar Jose Alvarez. You can’t go past the ceviche-style Algarve prawns and blue fin tuna tartare, and if you book early evening you will enjoy your meal with the glistening city skyline as your backdrop. Japanese steakhouse Netsu by Ross Shonhan is notable too, it’s warakari cuisine using straw fire cooking delivers some of the best Wagyu you’ll taste. The open-kitchen provides diners a front-row seat to the cooking action, while the artisanal sake and vast Japanese whiskey selection is equally impressive. Noor Lounge is the go-to for afternoon tea and the nearby Mandarin Cake Shop is packed with some of the most delicious cakes and sweets. The spa The desert’s rolling dunes this part of the world is renowned for, are represented in the curved ceiling in this exclusive health and wellbeing hub; the blue flooring a nod to the Arabian Gulf. But it’s more than just the aesthetics that impress, the spa menu is brimming with Asian and Arabic-inspired treatments and there are separate mens and womens areas with pod-like relaxation spaces. Treatments are infused with 24-karat gold, which is so Dubai, and the team uses a combination of international brands including Subtle Energies and Aromatherapy Associates. The neighborhood/area In the same vicinity as the Four Seasons and Bulgari and not too far from some of the Emirate’s biggest attractions, including the La Mer beachfront hub and Madinat Jumeirah souk. Conveniently located across the road from a local shopping mall and a few minutes drive from the trendy Jumeirah Beach Road coffee precinct. The service Impeccable. From the greeting by door staff decked out in their Mandarin Oriental fedoras and hats to the lobby welcome and friendly check in procedures and assistance as required throughout the hotel, it’s without fault and as you’d expect from a hotel of this calibre. No request goes unmet. For families Yes, families are well catered for here with the Little Nomads kids club offering respite for parents in need of some down time. Meals are free for children under the age of four and babysitting is available upon request. Accessibility Rooms have been adapted to cater to guests with disabilities and the hotel is wheelchair accessible. Anything left to mention? The ice cream at breakfast is a sweet surprise and you simply must make time for an hour or two by the rooftop pool on the Gulf side of Tascas, the view is incredible." - Melinda Healy

A generally good stay, but disappointing room experience for the price paid I stayed at the Mandarin Oriental for a weekend getaway. Overall, the experience was ok, the staff were helpful, attentive, and welcoming, which I truly appreciated. However, I encountered some unexpected issues in the room. There was a strange smell throughout my stay, and I noticed a stain on the pillow. Most concerning was the strong sewerage smell coming from the bathroom, which significantly affected my comfort. I pointed this out to guest services, but unfortunately, the issue persisted. I ended up using my own perfume to mask the odor and even ran the hot water tap to try to flush the system. For a hotel of this caliber and the price paid, I expected a much higher standard of room maintenance and hygiene. While the service was commendable, these issues left me disappointed with the overall value of the stay.

Extremely disappointed by my experience at Mandarin Oriental — far from the five-star reputation they claim. This was my first time staying at a Mandarin Oriental property, and sadly, it will be my last. What was supposed to be a relaxing one-day staycation turned into a frustrating and completely unacceptable experience. Despite it being low season with plenty of availability, I was placed in a room on the podium level facing the city — possibly the worst view in the entire hotel. That alone shows a serious lack of attention to detail and poor judgment by the management team when it comes to guest satisfaction. But what truly ruined my stay was waking up at 6:00 AM to three maintenance workers right outside my window, speaking loudly while cleaning. No prior notice was given. No apology was offered. I had zero privacy and constant noise, and my only day to rest was completely disrupted. This is not what you expect from a so-called luxury hotel. At this level, service and communication should be impeccable — instead, I felt like I was staying at a poorly run business hotel, not a world-renowned brand. For the price paid and the brand expectations, this experience was absolutely unjustifiable. I would strongly recommend anyone considering Mandarin Oriental to look elsewhere — there are far better-run luxury hotels where guests are actually treated with care and respect.

Everything about this hotel is truly perfect—from the elegant interiors to the world-class amenities. But what made my stay unforgettable was the exceptional hospitality from every single staff member. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles—from the entrance all the way inside. What struck me most was that every staff member treated me with the same grace and kindness, regardless of who I am. Whether I’m a billionaire or not, I felt like one during my stay. The consistency of their smiles, their genuine warmth, and their attention to detail is unbelievably exemplary. And the food—let’s never forget the food! It’s nothing short of majestic. Every dish is crafted with excellence, but if there’s one thing you must try, it’s their French toast. Please don’t leave without it! It’s what makes my mornings feel like a true VIP experience. It’s clear that the staff are not just trained well—they embody the spirit of luxury and hospitality. The human touch at Mandarin Oriental Jumeira sets a new standard. I didn’t just stay at a hotel—I lived an experience. And that experience made me feel valued, respected, and genuinely cared for.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We booked three nights at Mandarin Oriental Dubai nearly a month in advance to celebrate our one-year anniversary. When booking, I noticed the room had single beds, so I immediately called the hotel and requested a king or queen bed. I was assured by both reception and room services that this would be taken care of upon arrival. At check-in, the lady at the front desk acknowledged the request but said she needed to double-check. Turns out, nothing had been done. We had to wait in the room while the housekeeping staff rearranged the beds — it took around 20–25 minutes. After traveling and being tired, this was the last thing we needed. I also asked if we could get a late check-out as a small gesture for the inconvenience, and she agreed to 2 PM. Then she tried to upsell us on a “nicer room with a better view” for an additional charge — which felt a bit inappropriate. We declined, and the room we got had a terrible view with no privacy whatsoever (photo attached). To top it off: • There was no anniversary gesture in the room — no cake, card, or even a note — despite booking this stay a month ahead and clearly noting it was a special occasion. • I later called reception to ask for something (then changed my mind), and the person asked, “Is there anything else I can do for you?” I said, “Honestly, I’m shocked you guys didn’t prepare anything for our anniversary.” He said he’d check. When we returned to the room, there was a plate of fruit and some balloons — clearly done last minute only because I pointed it out. • The shampoo bottle in the room was empty. We had to request another one. • On the last day, I got a call asking whether I was checking out or wanted to extend. I said we had a 2 PM late checkout confirmed at check-in, and the staff member replied that it wasn’t noted and they had other guests coming. This kind of miscommunication really summed up the whole stay. All in all, this was far from the luxury experience we expected. Poor coordination, lack of attention to detail, and zero proactive service made our anniversary stay feel disappointing and unmemorable. We won’t be coming back.

We had a wonderful weekend! The pool amenities were great, and the hotel is beachfront too. The suite was very comfortable, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and warm. It truly was a great experience! We loved the club lounge, and the food was amazing. Definitely 1 of best hotels for a staycation!

An unforgettable stay – perfection down to the last detail! Our stay at the Mandarin Oriental Dubai was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The hotel impresses not only with its elegant architecture and luxurious amenities, but above all with its exceptional service. We would like to particularly highlight the staff, who fulfill every wish with a smile and make you feel welcome and appreciated. The service is not only professional, but also warm and authentic – something you don't find everywhere, even in luxury hotels. A very special compliment goes to the General Manager, whose commitment and leadership clearly contribute significantly to this first-class atmosphere. You can feel that a team here works with passion and dedication. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for this wonderful experience and are already looking forward to our next visit!
