Mandarin Oriental, Sanya

The hotel complex is very beautiful and offers countless great photo spots throughout the property. The rooms are spotless and well equipped with amenities. The location is fine overall. However, the area is not really suitable for swimming or snorkeling. As a European I hoped to find a bit more relaxation.

I booked this hotel through American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts as an Amex Platinum cardholder, with the reservation fully prepaid and non-refundable. Before arrival, I called the front desk to confirm that if the cardholder could not arrive, the listed guest could still check in (without FHR benefits). I was explicitly told this was acceptable. However, three days before check-in, the hotel manager (Mr. Shi) contacted me and stated that if the guest checked in without the cardholder present, the hotel would require a deposit equal to the full room rate and would forfeit it if the cardholder did not appear. Since the room was already paid in full, this effectively amounts to a double charge. The discrepancy between what the front desk confirmed and what management later imposed was frustrating and unprofessional.

The service at the resort is excellent. We arrive late due to flight delays. When the reception staff saw us looked hungry and tired, she immediately suggested the place to enjoy dinner for the baby and majority of us to have one person handle the check in. She is very knowledgeable about the resort and very efficient. She offered to move our room closer to our son’s family to make it easier for to coordinate our family time together. The shuttle service staff are very patient and helpful in handling our luggages. The most impressive is the 宾客主管家王智毅， Kennys, 管家Jeremy assigned head of care giver overseeing our guest group ) Kennys and Jeremy. Jeremy proactively recommended baby care staff and have them delivered while we we’re having dinner. When he realised our son’s room has certain maintenance issues beyond his level, he immediately engaged his supervisor, Kennys. Kennys is exceptionally custom oriented, he explored various resources to ensure our son’s family, especially our infant grandson were very well taken care of. We we’re extremely grateful to him and the teams behind him. Last but not least is the house keeping team, they adjusted their daily cleaning schedule to meet out baby’s nap time and get the job done once the rooms were available. We are especially appreciate, 孙益布主管led his team going extra miles to make our stay as comfortable as possible 👍👍👍

I had an absolute marvellous stay at the MO Sanya. Highlights of my stay:||1. Our very warm, helpful and friendly butler Elena who attended to all our needs and questions promptly and efficiently. She was always reachable via Wechat for all matters relating to our stay (e.g. NYE dinner reservations, local attractions recommendations etf.) which helped us relax and save time. Her English is also excellent, which greatly facilitated communication.||2. Very nice private beach with excellent water quality (picture attached), where I snorkelled daily.||3. Very delicious breakfast buffet and stellar in-room dining selection.||4. Beautiful landscaping of the resort…making my morning stroll to the breakfast buffet every morning very relaxing.

This is a very unique and beautiful resort managed by Mandarin Oriental, we have traveled to many places before, as always the excellent services is the real high light of the staying, the personal assistant Maggie really helped us with every details of the stay, including offering a smooth switching rooms since we extended the stay during a busy season. Before night room touch up, fruits and small snacks are real very thoughtful, also food and room services is as always a Mandarin Oriental quality. There are also many activities organized by hotel, the hotel is operated like a private club only open to its guests for its beach access really offers a tranquil atmosphere. Will come back for sure and highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a Hawaii like vocational experience.

I would especially like to commend our butler, Celia. She was always very responsive and proactive, checking in with us in advance to understand our needs. Her attitude was incredibly friendly, thoughtful, and genuinely caring, which made our stay feel truly comfortable and well looked after. She is a real asset to the hotel.

An amazing resort in Sanya. Located on a beach with huge pools. 3 excellent restaurants in the hotel and a buffet that is open every evening on the beach. Amazing staff at the hotel, from the reception on arrival, the check-in desk, the buggy drivers, and especially the waiters at breakfast. I took a room on the ground floor facing the sea, so it was a very large, well-equipped room with a turndown service every evening. A very rich breakfast, both Chinese and international. The hotel is not far from the Dodonghi beach, where there are restaurants, spas, bars, and shopping. Highly recommended!

It was a wonderful stay at Mandarin Oriental Sanya, the hotel was very good and especially my butler Mr. Roshan provide me a exceptional service during my stay. He made our stay more comfortable especially because of the language barrier. The food is so delicious and i recommend the fresh western restaurant at the beach. The location of hotel is very secluded, and for couples is a good choice.
