Didn’t even get to check in, person at the desk tried to charge us more because we didn’t have Jamaican IDs. We had call to check availability and were told it was $10,000 for the night. When we got there and he heard the accent, he ask if we had Jamaican ID, we said no , then he said the rooms would be 17,000 each and because it was 6 of us he said it would be only 2 adults per room. We ask to speak to the manager but he said she wasn’t there, tried to get her number, he said he didn’t have a number for her.🙄🙄.

I stayed for three nights but had no choice as all other hotels were full( jamaican independence week). No AC in any of the rooms, one antiquated over bed fan with one bulb and dim light. Requested a standing fan as the over head fan wasn’t pushing the hot air as it should( Jamaica was extremely hot )and was told that they don’t have an extra fan.Tried opening the window for fresh air but ended up with insects in the room as there were no screens on the windows. Told the desk person next morning and she responded by saying “I don’t know how bugs got in there” .. smh. ||Continental breakfast is two slices of buttered toast and some tasteless scrambled eggs and ready mix coffee. We did not request butter on our toast, we ask for coffee but thought we would put what we wanted in the coffee( makes me wonder what she put in it and how did she know if it was to my liking). Not set up for an older person or anyone with mobility issues.

First let me say that the view was awesome. However, it wasn't easy finding it. When we got there, the guy at the reception area was not friendly at all, responded to questions with sarcasm and did not show much interest in finding us a room we would actually like. He showed us 2 rooms which was not all that so we just called it a night that we needed somewhere to lay our heads because the travel was hectic and it was already late. I opened the frig door and it literally fell off in my hand, there was an old toilet stored in the closet area, the doors do not open well...I have to call my spouse to let me out when I'm finished using it and it is a bit ridiculous that the opening for you to enter the shower is at the end where the toilet is, forcing you to climb over the toilet and scraping your foot on the edge of the shower door. Apart from that guy, everyone else was fine. The breakfast area was fine, the waitress was polite and friendly (she is definitely a keeper), breakfast was delicious, the receptionist that took over in the morning was much better and she refunded us $1000 for the inconvenience and the rudeness of the first guy. Honestly, the guy is not good for business, so either get someone else or retrain him. He has absolutely NO customer service skills! His service was unacceptable and I doubt I will be trying Mandeview again or recommending it to any of my friends, family members or customers who ask for recommended places to stay in Jamaica!

I arrived late the evening of May 16 and only a security guard was there. He had no record of my reservation. He consulted a rep by phone who also verified with him that there was no reservation on record for me and so I had to seek alternate accommodation. On speaking to Rep. Amoy 2 days later she informed me that she was ill earlier that day and had to leave and hadn't left my information. However, they want to charge me for one night's stay. To date I have not received a refund. I would like this to be resolved speedily. I can provide more details of our conversation if needed. Thank you. Customer service - poorWould not recommend

Our stay at the Mandview Hotel one month ago was memorable and fantastic. The Hotel was well kept, the breakfast and the scenery in the mornings was breathtaking. The ambiance of peace and tranquility. Miss Marica and her staff went more than above and beyond to make our wedding a memorable day we and our friends and family will cherish forever.

Quaint, quiet and on the lower side of charming. It is a good place for meeting/conferences, stop_overs for business trips or a day or two of sock-tumbling. The rooms are average. The same goes for the cuisine. One thing for sure...you won't go away with a vow never to return.

This is a quiet, elegant hotel with superb customer service. There is an array of authentic Jamaican breakfast served each morning prepared by an excellent chief. My husband and I enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying there again on our next visit to Jamaica.
