Great place for authentic Sri Lankan rice and curry. Tasty food, good portion sizes, and very affordable. Friendly service and clean spot too. Definitely worth a visit.

Excellent place to get a hearty srilankan meal at a very modest price. Service is excellent with the host explaining all the components of the meal. It does take time to get a table during lunch time so except a 15-20 min wait.

Warmest Meal in Sri Lanka Mandhiya Mandhiya was hands down one of the best food experiences we had in Sri Lanka. Unlike most touristy places that served cold or bland meals, the food here was fresh, hot, and full of flavor. It felt like a proper home-cooked Sri Lankan meal comforting, balanced, and made with love. The curries were spot on, the sambols added the perfect kick, and everything was served with warmth and care. If you're looking for authentic local food that actually tastes like home, this is your spot. Can’t recommend it enough

Right at back of building which had some shops on ground floor. You have walk right through to back and up some steps. It’s a cosy vibe and ma&pa sort of set up. You can guarantee it’s home styled local food. There is chicken, fish, tofu, and chickpea Dahl. Curries are good packed with flavours. Simple good local food in a lovely set up.

A small, cozy place with incredible Srilankan food. It was our first meal in this country and I am glad to say that the standards have been set high. They offer rice and a meat of choice(chicken/fish). Each dish is accompanied with vegetarian sides of the day. Each item was unique, fresh and complimented each other. They do takeaways and have very limited seating(3 tables), so plan accordingly. The staff were friendly and helpful, a must visit place when in Kandy.

The location is Kandy city but it is hard to find. There are only three tables, but the restaurant is bright and adjacent to the building’s courtyard. The food is delicious and price is fair. The only disappointment was that there was no menu and only rice and curry was available.

My initial plan was to have a sit-down meal at Mandiya, and I'm so glad I chose this place. While waiting in line, I got into a great conversation with a British couple behind me. Inspired by their talk of the Royal Botanical Gardens, I decided to grab a takeout order instead and have an impromptu picnic. It was the perfect decision! The curry with tender chicken and wonderfully aromatic spices was absolutely delicious. The quality of Mandiya's food paired with the beautiful setting of the garden made for a perfect and unforgettable memory in Kandy.
