We couldn’t have chosen a better venue than Mandoon Estate for our wedding. The setting was breathtaking, and the service was outstanding. Megan, our coordinator, was an absolute gem! She was always quick to respond, friendly, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire planning process. Her attention to detail and willingness to assist with every little query made all the difference. On the day, everything ran smoothly, and we were able to enjoy every moment stress-free, thanks to Megan and the fantastic team at Mandoon Estate. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the wait staff and their exceptional service. They were attentive, professional, and ensured everyone felt looked after, adding to the incredible atmosphere of the day. We highly recommend Mandoon Estate to anyone looking for a stunning venue with an outstanding team. Thank you for making our wedding day truly unforgettable! – Mikayla & Tim

Mandoon Estate, Swan Valley, Western Australia: Mandoon Estate is the quintessential sophisticated wine stop that scores points on all fronts from good bar grub food, to palatable wines to a grand view of the vineyards while you feast on your food. Bar grub pulled off in the classiest way, this is such a lovely must-stop if you’ve got Swan Valley on your wine trail. #eatstylishtravelstylish

This review is for our experience with booking a wedding function at Mandoon Estate. We were absolutely amazed at the level of service, care and detail the team at Mandoon Estate has taken to help organise our wedding. Specifically, we have dealt with Megan and she has shown a level of hospitality like no other and personally, we hope others can see how much above and beyond she is in helping others plan their wedding. A few things Mandoon did that really blew us away: - Extremely timely and open communication - Always being responsive to our emails and questions even though it is months away from the wedding and also always setting expectations. Also, the staff are open listeners and really listens to our ideas without judgement - Planning was top notch, there were a few things where we felt like both Megan and her team planned very well. For example, organising a van transfer from the hotel to the venue without us even asking and saving a plate of our canapes etc! Extremely thoughtful! - Level of care - For our wedding, we had to translate our menus to Vietnamese as some of our guests were not native English speakers and Megan went above and beyond and actually provided us written translations for the food. We were really really touched by this gesture and it made us feel very welcomed. Overall, the team was VERY professional and if we could do our wedding all over again, we wouldn't change a thing because of Megan and her team at Mandoon. :)

The picturesque scenery at Mandoon Estate is truly breathtaking. However, our recent visit was marred by a disappointing service experience. It took a frustrating 25 minutes for our drinks to arrive, despite having to inquire twice at the bar. While the food was enjoyable, the subpar service significantly impacted our overall experience.

Mandoon Estate is one of the best vineyards in the swan valley area to visit. A must when go to venue when in Perth. The sheer size of the estate offers a variety of options: Chalet stays Playground Walk around Pictures views by the river Event space both indoor and outdoor Wine tasting Restaurant I took pictures of the food and beverages from the restaurant and not the facilities. Honestly, you need to come by and see the place. Pictures won’t do any justice. Service: Well trained service crew. Professional, welcoming, polite and interactive team. Ambience: Calming, soothing and tranquil. Well designed and welcoming. Food and Beverages: Quality curations. Try the ginger beer and the cider. You won’t be able to get the cider outside of the estate. Lovely and quenching. Wine Tasting: Well trained team with amazing service. The options are beautiful. Never an error to have Mandoon wines. Every year when I get back to Perth Mandoon Estate is a must for lunch or dinner amazing. Thank you Team Mandoon Estate!

We arrived about 10 am before the Saturday noon big crowd 😅 The hands-on blending session began with a cool sparkling white welcome 😋. The whole experience was about 90 minutes. Took home a souvenir of my own blend & labelled 750 ml bottle 😁 About 25 mins taxi ride from Elizabeth Quay area. Also easy to call for taxi here to go back.

We had an early lunch at the Homestead Brewery (Mandoon Estate) yesterday (Mon 30/12). The service was friendly and the food was excellent. Try the burger or the fish and chips, they were both excellent. The garlic bread was also very good. Also the kids fish and chips was very good. A shout out to the staff as there were many customers (more than expected) and they handled the situation really well. Everyone didn’t stop whilst we were there but still remained calm, friendly and polite. Well worth a visit.

Google
Great Sunday lunch, great vibe, treated to live acoustic music and some entertaining renditions from the singer. I recommend the ciders on tap with the charcuterie cheese share plate (be prepared to take leftovers home with you, it's filling!). Also get there early as we did, plenty of space on our table. Keep in mind while it is very shady, on hot days in the valley, Mandoon does get dappled sunlight coming through the trees, which will gradually cook you and your food. Bring sunscreen and/or some form of portable shade if that gets to you. Once the sun moves in the other direction, it's not all bad.

Yelp
Fantastic overall experience. Wonderful location with excellent service. The food lived up to everything. In particular, the venison tartare was one of the best tartare I ever had. The lamb main was also good, but not as great as the venison. Finished by trying three cheeses, they were also excellent. Obviously a great selection of Mandoon wines, but the one I had was orders of magnitude better than anything in the cellar room.

Yelp
Dropped in early (9am) for a quite brunch. Whilst we didn't get to enjoy the dynamic atmosphere of the usually busy bar/bistro area, it was very pleasant to look over the pristine vineyards with only a few other dinner around. The breakfast menu is VERY small but done well and the coffees were great. Prices were in line with upmarket dinning establishments Overall it's worth checking out for an intimate relaxing start to your weekend.

Yelp
Hmmmmm verged on 3 and 4 stars for this one. I had heard a lot of good things about Mandoon Estate. Headed there with some family here from overseas, to show them the Swan Valley and a quintessential Australian winery/brewery. There was no parking left in the car park, so everyone was parking along the road leading to the main road. We were there on a Saturday and the place was insanely packed. We had to hustle, and watch out for a table then jump on it as soon as one become available (our glares were probably not overly appreciated by those diners lingering over their finished lunches), then when we got that table, we kept an eye out for a bigger table that would fit everyone. The staff don't take any bookings for tables in person, so it's up to you to find something for yourself. Sounds easy, as this is the policy for a lot of venues, but the venue (on a rainy April Saturday) was rammed and very noisy. This place is VERY family friendly, take from that what you will. By the time we got a table I already felt the laid back Saturday lunch vibe had been a little bit ruined by desperately trying to get a table. You have to order at the counter and the line was long. The food came out reasonably quickly and was delicious. Perhaps when the new opening buzz of this venue runs out it will be a quieter and more enjoyable experience. But when we went it was manic, and though it's a nice looking venue with great food, they probably need to put in a better process for getting a table and ordering food.

Yelp
We had a 7 course degustation with matching wines for lunch in the restaurant. The dishes were nice but not outstanding. I was still hungry afterwards and I know degustations are small servings but have done many degustations and have never left feeling like I needed more food. Disappointing for $170 pp. Service was good, they bought out each dish and explained it thoroughly. Wines paired nicely with each meal, the reserve sparking was a favourite. The honey comb dessert was creative and refreshing. Mandoon is one if my favourite wineries in Swan Valley, the menu from the brewery is value for money, the prices are reasonable, the serving sizes are decent, the food is great! Not a fan of the beer garden food, very basic and I don't feel it is value for money, servings are are small in comparison to what you can get from the brewery. Lovely area to have a picnic on a glorious day.

Jovana G.

Yelp
Had very enjoyable mid with lunch here for my birthday. We decided to have mid-week special, entree & main with matching wines for $60 (with shared dessert). Great deal! The food and wine were really nice.. I had beetroot cured ocean trout for entree; for main: lamb loin and dessert: strawberry, white chocolate, sparking sorbet. Loved the food presentation. Great experience all around, will definitely go back here again.

Yelp
This restaurant joint brewery and vineyard has been open for a few weeks. No teething problems here. Amazing food! Superb views! Fine dining ambiance ... No other words. A must try! The French chef has skills! Impeccable presentation of dishes. The brewery is separate and it's very kid friendly. If you decide to dine in the restaurant, Remember to reserve a table by the window or fireplace :)

Yelp
Well there is so much to say about the fitout and location of this place - absolutely gorgeous!! You forget you're in Caversham and feel like you're in Margaret River with the beautiful view of the vines and the huge deck in the sun. We came for breakfast and it really delivered. A great variety of dishes and I was able to order my favourite smashed avocado, feta and roasted tomato on sourdough with a side of hash brown. Amazing. Delicious and fresh and the perfect size so I wasn't over full, and only $12! Next time I'm having a poached egg on top because my girlfriends poached eggs looked perfectly runny. I also had the cloudy Apple juice which was nice and fresh but $7.50 for a medium sized glass. The biggest downfall was the coffee, it was nice but for $6 for a soy mocha in a tiny glass was disappointing. But that was the only flaw. The service was also great. I'll definitely be coming back for a lunch and beer or wine in their beautiful beer garden with picnic tables and blankets - the perfect summer spot!

Yelp
Mandoon is always great. Today it didn't disappoint. The staff are always lovely and attentive. My friend and I both had the Pulled Pork Sliders and the Chocolate Tart. The Pulled Pork Slider was Delicious!! The coleslaw made it even better. The Sparkling wine really topped off the whole meal. It was a lovely day and just a lovely feel to the whole experience. Its always relaxed there, a great place to chill, have a drink and feed. The Tart was a tad rich but only because it was a little bit long.... Maybe half of the length would have been perfect. Overall fantastic as always! Thankyou Mandoon . I would definately go back and recommend to family and friends.

Yelp
Great venue. Nice food. Nice wine. However the staff seem to have an attitude that isn't very friendly. Not sure why hospitality workers feel that they need to project superiority and arrogance toward paying customers. I will definitely be back as the venue is superb and very relaxing. Lots of different areas to try and experience. This would have been a 5 star review except for the staff. Change the attitude and you will have a winner all round.

Yelp
Second visit here to the front veranda overlooking the grapevines. First time was a 4 this time was a 3. Both times the food was good but the second time the service was... well... we felt it was really hard to get out waiter's attention despite being not busy at all. Half an hour after dinner was over we wanted a desert menu but couldn't get one so paid and left - and we had mentioned we wanted desert in the beginning. Really feel this drops the place from 4 to 3.5 stars. I think what's missing is a restaurant flow with the staff and regular check ins. And don't spend too long talking to people at a table without taking a look around. We felt really awkward unless we are meant to walk up interrupt others and ask for stuff.

Carrie G.

Yelp
This is definitely a happening place to visit in the Swan Valley. It was quite busy on the overcast day we visited but the waiter assured me that it was nothing compared to bright, sunny days when it gets jam packed. We dined on the brewery side and I was really impressed with the food. I ordered the swordfish and it was excellent and beautifully cooked. I did have major food envy though of all those on my table who ordered the wagyu burger. It looked spectacular and my husband relinquished one bite for me and it tasted as good as it looked. I will be going back for the burger alone! It's definitely a place you can take little people as they have play areas and plenty of room for them to run around.

Kathy C.

Yelp
Well back there again love the place had burger friends order the fish chips one order kids size which was nearly same as adult meal all meals came out together excellent service waitress on ball with food and drinks as always busy place no split billing loads parking and lots going on from wine tastings checking art gallery great for picnics family get togethers and formal functions

Dino B.

Yelp
Today we went to Mandoon Estate and was completely blown away from how many people was here, not hectic and different areas to dine. The food and service that we experienced was second to none and price for the area we ate was reasonable.Highly recommend to eat here and experience the great atmosphere. Saw a burger come out after I had my meal,it looked delicious will definitely go back to have one.

Gemma E.

Yelp
We came on our boat and didn't know what to expect. I had booked the restaurant online for Sunday lunch. Lovely restaurant, friendly and professional staff. The menu is small and delicious. The mains of duck, the dry aged beef and sous vide chicken were absolutely wonderful. The desserts were lovely and the cheese selection above average -I had a hard ewes milk from Spain and a hard goats cheese from Holland. The other dining options cater for everyone right to a picnic style outdoor area with live music and pizza. The Mandoon Chardonnay I tried was elegant and there is a great selection of their own beers and wines. I would definitely come again.

Yelp
WE visited Mandoon Estate restaurant with some friends on Wednesday 14th June 2017 This is our second visit & was as good as the first. It is fine dinning at its best The service & the welcome .There where a few dinning but there was no delay in the food coming out .The lamb. the Venison & dessert where to die for all very well presented . Now when our we going back. Loved it

Sally H.

Yelp
Saturday afternoon at Mandoon for a friend's birthday was just "meh". Overpriced food and drinks with poor service to boot. Tasteless Mussels, crappy Sun cocktail @$18...wont be back. If you can't handle crowds then don't seat too many!

Paddy M.

Yelp
Great little spot.. Caters for all! Great value breakfasts starting from $5 for fruit salad. Pancakes for kids only $8 are huge!! Great coffee.. Open for breakfast lunch and dinner.. Has classy function rooms.. Has its own beer from the brewery along with some fantastic wines.. Amazing beer garden with kids play equipment.. Beer garden serves pizza, spit roast and other snacks. Plenty of room for the kids to run around. Could rave on about this spot for ages, but it's best you come and check it out for yourself !

Yelp
Mandoon Estate in the Swan Valley consists of a brewery, the Linton and Kay art gallery and a cellar door and restaurant. There are a lot of things for the family too, with a big playground and beautifully mowed lawns to hang out in the sun. But on this particular cloudy day I caught up with some friends to dine at their restaurant. The space at Mandoon restaurant is opulent. It has a stunning ceiling to floor windows overlooking their vineyards, lawns and gardens. The ambiance is one of elegance and sophistication, so definitely a place where you go for a date or for a special occasion. Their menu consists of a 5 or 7 course degustation (5 courses $110 without wines $130 with wines, 7 courses $140 without wines $170 with wines), or for those who doesn't want to have that many courses, you can go a la carte. We opted for their a la carte with 2 bottles of beautiful red wine, their 2012 Old Vine Grenache and 2013 Carbernet Merlot. The Grenache being lighter and so easy to drink, while the Carbernet Merlot was richer and more vibrant on the palate. In terms of the restaurant it is pricey and the dishes are a little bit small in portion. But having said that the dishes are balanced in texture and flavours and were cooked perfectly. Their wine list is also very well done, but then I wouldn't expect anything less from an estate like Mandoon. I think Mandoon Estate Restaurant is worth going for a special occasion and expect to spend a bit. oh and expect not to have parking!!

K. S.

Yelp
A beautiful winery for sure. Only disappointment was ordering the same wine outside with pizza was more money than inside the winery. Understandable if it was table service, however was not, so prices should be the same.

Karine A.

Yelp
I'm going to be a little dark about Mandoon. Stunning surroundings. Very corporate feel. A little too organized. Which will make for order and the majority of people will not be offended by Mandoon. It is an aesthetically pleasing place. I would have loved to be blown away by the lamb spit lunch in the garden and not blown away by the distorted music blaring from the 2 overworked speakers hanging from the side of the deli. The lamb spit bun lunch, dry bun, stringy lamb, stinjy gravy, limp salad... left my jaw aching from trying to chew through it. We left halfway through our bun and went to the Duckstein to get some real swan valley culture. I'm not adversed to new things, Infact I love exploring new places. This just left us feeling too perfect and yet the main attraction in the garden, the lamb spit....let down.

Yelp
Beautiful setting, lousy food & arrogant wait staff. What could be a great place to take vistors to WA for a touch of the Margaret River vibe in such a beautiful grounds & buildings is let down by the the food & terrible service. We booked 2 weeks prior in person & specifically asked for a table away from the windows & near the fire as a winters night it was bound to be cold out. We arrived to find that the restaurant was predominately empty but we could not be seated at our preferred table with no apology, put by the window by the open doorway, it was freezing. I had Croquette' entre, what a let down 4 squares of overcooked meatballs rolled in breadcumbs, that was as hard as rocks served with 1 dessert spoon size serving of sauce. No flavour to what the Croquette filling was, this is still a mystery to me. This arrived 10 minutes after my companions had started eating, when the staff were reminded that I had not got my order, the response was 'I know'. It was evident the Croquette's had been forgotten in the fryer & they thought it better to put something on a plate. The food was dumped in front of me with no apology for the delay. Others at my table had Blackened Chicken with chimichurri, corn salsa. There was nothing moist in the meal, just half a chicken with a dry salad with no dressing. Good thing they sell drinks because you need it to get the food down! Do yourself a favour, give this place a miss.

Leela G.

Yelp
Great lunch had in the dinning room amazing staff and great flavours we will be back. We had a group of ten and food came out perfectly and on time

Carma L.

Yelp
Great place - wonderful food, great service, great setting. Definitely will be back! Jana was our waitresses who was lovely beers and wines are delicious. You could really forget your in the swan valley and could be anywhere modern, sophisticated and classy. Will be back for sure!

Laura H.

Yelp
Excellent venue - 3 eating areas to choose from - family friendly, beautiful food and great cider!

Andrew R.

Yelp
Okay. It's ultra modern and we headed straight for the bar with food although we had a peek in the table-clothed restaurant. Some striking works of art but quite minimalist. I tasted the most unusual soft drink here - the name escapes me. Green and seaweedy in colour with a lime/vegetable taste but refreshing on a hot day nonetheless. Wagyu Burger and chips delicious although the food Richard ordered consisted of five measly meatballs in sauce. There is a non-smoking onsite rule although we had a crafty fag behind the tree and judging by the butts on the ground we were not the only ones. All these pretentious wine drinkers and a puritanical attitude to tobacco - how smug. A bit too modern for me. Three stars Okay. One gets quite a good view of the aircraft landing at Perth Airport from this vineyard.

William B.

Yelp
I had the glutton free mushroom prizes and normal I hate to eat out it was fantastic best I've ever had

Bao D.

Yelp
A frequent visitor of the Mandoon Estates beer garden, my second lunch visit to their more formal (but not to be mistaken with snooty) restaurant did not disappoint. Went for 5 courses with matched wines - amazingly creative and visual dishes, well balanced, well paired, and bar 1 dish which was slightly over cooked, everything was perfect. What makes this place even better is the professional yet super friendly and engaging staff, from waitstaff to manager. Very fitting for a Swan Valley setting. Seriously good food, wonderful staff, beautiful setting... What more could one ask for?

Elka H.

Yelp
Thank you, Mandoon Restaurant (referring to the restaurant, not the Homestead Brewery) we had a five star lunch there today with excellent setting, superb food and great staff. An amazing place if you are looking for added class and a unique dining experience. Thanks again - will definitely return

Erin W.

Yelp
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE. If you have kids, or you just wants some freaken air with your beer, it's brilliant. Would like to see a bit more option for eating outside down the back. Everything I have had in the restaurant has been great though. We've been going since just after it opened and its always been a great experience. Looking forward to some more summer Sunday's.

Kylie-Marie R.

Yelp
Went here today, the cellar door wine tasting was great, they had a complimentary menu to select 6 tastings from or a Reserve menu where tastings were $2 ea. the staff serving was knowledgeable and friendly. The whole complex is really well laid out.

Louize R.

Yelp
Having just arrived home from Mornington Peninsula and visiting a lot of wineries, we were so glad to find this on our doorstep (25 mins from home). Mandoon Estate and Homestead Brewery really have something for everyone. Whether it be wine tastings, a brewery experience, outdoor picnic (can purchase from onsite Delicatessen), or a multi course degustation menu. Absolutely love what they've done here, and the Reserve Chardonnay and Shiraz were excellent.

Genevieve S.

Yelp
We headed along to Mandoon Estate Restaurant for the 5 course degustation last week. Each course was delicious, and the 5 courses were accompanied by 2 amuse bouches and a petite forte, in the end this meant that we had four sweet dishes and four savoury dishes, which was a bit too much sweetness for me. The biggest issue was with the service. The waiter would approach the table and stand mutely without asking us anything until we made a statement; he also didn't make any attempt to explain the menu which led to some confusion. We chose to have the wine accompaniments and asked if there would be too much alcohol for the driver. We were told each sample was 90 ml (as opposed to 150 for a full glass) and that five serves would probably be too mush. This turned out not to be an issue as we got the smallest portions of wine - essentially equivalent to the free taster you would get in the cellar. One serve was only two sips. The young woman serving the wine clearly had no idea about wine; when I asked what grapes were in the sparking white she had to go ask the bar staff and when she returned she said "Semillon - does that mean anything to you?". It's a pity that the service did not match the beautiful food and the surrounds.

Colin M.

Yelp
The food was extremely average and was not worth the money that they charge. Service was fine before the manager was unreasonable when we approached with entertainment book incentive for the full bill. We would have gone here without the entertainment book so was very disappointed that they didn't apply by the rules

Felicity C.

Yelp
very new and modern brewery/vineyard the surrounds were beautiful, the wine tasting we did was fantastic the staff were great and friendly and the food was top notch will definitely be coming back here.
