Yelp
All I have to say is WOW. We are staying at Sensei, but Melissa the pre-arrival specialist reached out to us to schedule activities for our week in Lana'i. We are so happy we booked half a round of golf at the beach resort. If you enjoy difficulty and scenic views, book the back 9. If you love sunsets, book the back 9 for sunset.
Originally, we booked the front 9 on a Wednesdayfor 10am, but heard how amazing the back 9 was. We switched to the back 9 and so happy we did! A half round on a Wednesday morning is about $177.
Transportation:
Inter hotel transportation leaves from Sensei on the half hour to the beach resort and every hour from the beach resort to sensei. However, we asked to arrive early via the Tesla drivers, so we he could practice the driving range and the green.
We brought our own balls and tees or you have to pay for balls (we brought 10- hello, hazards!) He rented clubs for about $55. The pro shop is great from complimentary snacks, coffee, to golf shoes, visors, hats and swag!
Beverage cart- Beverage cart stays at the green . On the turn at 9, complimentary lemondes and you can buy alcohol - full stocked bar. The beverage cart has an assortment of beers, wines, liquor, cutwater, and juneshine. Jesse was working at the beverage cart and was stellar. He was extremely attentive and helpful!
The service from check-in to finish is phenomenal. The course is open from Saturday-Sunday (closed on Mondays for maintenance.) Bobby, the assistant golf pro, was fantastic from getting the cart and clubs prepared to handing us a cold towel and a bag tag.
Bring an appetite - Views is next door for lunch. I suggest making reservations. If you book the sunset back nine - try Nobu or one-forty for dinner reservations.
At the end of the day, we couldn't recommend this course, ambience, views or the customer service any more.
As a solely Sensei guest, next time we would like to make a day out of it. Play the back 9, bring a beach bag, lay out in the first-come first-serve beach chairs and then hike to sweetheart rock.
Mahalo!
