I recently dined at Mangal Steakhouse, hoping for a memorable culinary experience. Unfortunately, my expectations were not fully met.
At the start they didn’t offer any complementary (no bread & butter nor crackers or anything).
I ordered the Quzu New York steak, which was a major disappointment. The flavor was incredibly bland, scoring a mere 3 out of 10 in my book. Additionally, it had an odd, unpleasant "lamb-like" aftertaste from it’s sticked fat that you can’t differentiate from the meat until you chew it, that made it quite unappetizing. On the other hand, the burger was decent—not remarkable, but acceptable. However, the accompanying French fries fell short; they were the frozen variety, lacking the freshness and crispness I look for in a good side dish. Prices are very high compared to the quality received, I asked for a barbecue sauce where it was surprisingly charged for 7 AZN at the bill which was 82.5 AZN ( 48.5 $ ) for 200 gr steak, a small burger with frozen fries and a cola (and of course the Barbecue sauce).
That said, the restaurant's atmosphere was wonderful. The menu design as a newspaper is a brilliant idea. The decor was tastefully designed, creating an inviting and visually pleasing environment. The live music was a thoughtful touch, though it didn’t suit my personal taste. Still, I appreciated the gesture, as it added to the overall ambiance.
In summary, while Mango Steakhouse excels in atmosphere and presentation, the food quality—particularly the steak—needs significant improvement to match the premium dining experience they aim to provide.
